Ask OJ if he feels the same way. The difference in the burden of proof is significant between a civil and criminal case, and I am not sure I would trust most of the statistics you hear bantered about. Civil cases are generally only pursued if the defendant has something to protect, and that the plaintiff's attorney feels they have a chance to win (and ensure themselves a payday). Not trying to be confrontational, but I would be much more concerned with criminal liability than civil.

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza
quietguy replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They are not state parks, but under the control of General Services. To deal with Occupy, General Services issued rules very similar to what DoEC uses to govern parks (curfews, permits required, etc.). The Capitol grounds and War Memorial Courtyard are governed by the same regulation. There is a lot of confusion because the way the property is structured. Legislative Plaza, is an open air "park like area", with an office building underground. I don't believe the open area is posted, only if you pass the security checkpoint into the office and committee rooms is carry not permitted. "On the plaza" is legal, "in the plaza" is not. -

The Plaza, Capitol Grounds, etc are treated essentially as parks since the Occupy Nashville "camp out". Not office space and committee rooms, just the open air areas. -
Use Tax is already on the books, just can't be practically enforced by the DoR.

Congrats. I agree with monkeylizard. If the six year old doesn't have to, you shouldn't either.

Take a look at the Fluke 101 if you just need basic functionality. I think they are around $60.

I had forgotten about Hog Heaven. I haven't been there in years, but will have to give it another try. The food was good, but the homeless in the park would line up on the wall right across the street and harass all of the patrons.

Probably not safe to just change the breaker. A 15A circuit is usually wired with 14g wire. You want 12g wire for a 20A circuit and 10g for a 30A circuit. A better strategy may be to wire dedicated outlets for high draw tools.

William Howard Taft was both President and later Chief Justice, but was nominated by another President (Harding, IIRC). Not exactly the same scenario, but probably as close as you will find.

IMHO, Peg Leg Porker has be best dry rub ribs in town, and some of the best pulled pork. Martin's and Jack's are probably 2 and 2a on my list. Edley's meat is pretty good, but their sides are better than most BBQ joints.

9mm to 300 Win Mag. Sorry, missed the 12g shell on the end.

It is a bit of drive from Nashville, but the guys at Dickson Sportsman's Store are great to work with. I used to build all of my own arrows and tuned my bow. It was a process, and I just don't have time anymore. DSS has a couple of guys that are really good. You will pay a little bit of a premium, but not unreasonable.

Just call them in close, and almost anything will work. I would probably just start working up a #4 load that she could handle, and limit her range based on where it patterns.
-
Can she handle a #4 or #6 HV factory load?

Call around to the testing centers and see what they can do for you. Most have discounts for vets and/or active duty, especially if you are just testing out.

Your tastes looked be similar to mine. Try Lock, Stock and Barrel 13. I picked up a bottle of Four Roses Private Selection a couple of weeks ago that is really good as well.

New gun bills set for hearing this week
quietguy replied to Dustbuster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Which applies to HCP holders. I don't disagree, but you have to understand the political reality of Tennessee. There isn't a large or vocal anti-gun contingent. The real issue is business vs. individual rights. There are groups in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga that are anti's, but no one gives them much credence. Remember that Phil Bredesen won in '02 because Van Hilleary chickened out of a skeet shoot. -

quietguy replied to Dustbuster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you meant ill-informed, but I don't think that is the case. I guess I should have stated we could get whatever we want within reason. As I stated, there is a lot of weight placed on the value of the background check process that the HCP process provides. Open carry without a permit is probably a no-go, but I equate that with Constitutional Carry. Do you have a bill reference for banning CC carry in public parks? Please provide the HB or SB numbers. If you are talking about HB1409, then it has almost no chance of getting out of committee, much less passing. Any legislator can file a bill, doesn't mean it will pass or has significant support. I am just saying that if our side lobbied issues the same way the business community did, we would have a lot more success. TFA and NRA have a reputation for trying bully issues, and not working members. -

We could probably get almost anything we want if it was effectively represented and lobbied correctly. To say that "the Powers that be don't like Gun Carry at all" is naive and ill informed. Most of the legislators struggle with the balance between the property rights of business owners and gun rights. The business community has done a much better job than the NRA or TFA. I do think that Constitutional Carry would be hard to achieve, because there is a tremendous value placed on the background checks that HCP holders go through. -
Aluminum, silicon, or epoxy would be a lot cheaper than printing, and more durable.
