I would say you will see it any day now. Mine only took about 6 weeks to get but they do have up to 90 days. ALthought I wouldn't bug them alot you can call to see if it has been issued or if you know someone at the local PD you could have them run your DL# and see if a HGP pops up.

Don't see hillary and obama together. the sides hate each other too much. had a democrat tell me the other day that he thinks mccain will win hands down due to the division in their party. Which ever side wins the other is not likely to vote for. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

Almost had to shoot a pitbull that came tearing after me while I was on a bike. I knew I couldn't outrun him so I jumped off and put my bike between us. Fortunately for both of us the owner came running out of the house and called him back. Of course one advantage I had is that if he goes after my right leg is goign to get noithing but a mouthful of metal. While he is busy chewing on my presthesis he's goign to get busted in the ribs multiple times with my left foot. :-)

I know MTSU campus police are behind removing the ban on colleges. I spoke with one of the Lts over there and they have no problem with it. -
If I am not mistaken on the PG thing, stores don't fall under that. I remember malls being discussed and because they are a privately *owned* (edited) business not publicly they don't fall under PG if I remember correctly. For the purpose of this Code section, "public gathering" shall include, but shall not be limited to, athletic or sporting events, churches or church functions, political rallies or functions, publicly owned or operated buildings, or establishments at which alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises. (9) "Publicly owned" means that a county, municipality, hospital authority, or any combination thereof holds title to or has a long-term lease acceptable to the state agency on the property on which the construction or modernization is proposed.

Not sure where you live but the best thing I can suggest is go to a store with a good selection. Find something that fits you and is comfortable.

I wouldn't use one of those locks. It's pretty simple. They are goign to inspect your case and make sure everything is packaged correctly which any owner should be present for. Once it's inspected, it's locked back up and cleared. From that point on it should have no reason to be opened back up even by TSA. Now if you choose not to be present then I guess they have the authority to what is necessary to open the case.
-
Your bag is to stay locked once it has been checked. TSA is not allowed to open it once inspected. Thus the reason they tell you to lock it back and hand you the key.

You have to be 21 to buy handgun ammo at the places I have purchased it before. don't know why the law would be different for handguns.

Federal parks are about to go under state carry laws. Not sure when it is goign to get passed but all indications are that it will.

I didn't read all the posts so this might have been mentioned but I think Rep Nicely would be a great replacement for speaker!! The guy has great common sense based on the last CP&P two weeks ago. -
A good friend of mine is on the airport PD and we have had this discussion. Now until recently the signs were not posted properly although still not posted on all the entrances. He has told me you can only have it in your checked baggage. The other thing that might get you too is that there is an open bar right by the security gate.
-
I was at the airport last night and I made it a point to find any signage that was posted because I know this has come up a couple of times. Where the signs are posted they are compliant with TCA verbage. That being said take notice to I said "where". I only found signs posted in the entrances to the ticketing area. I did not find a single sign posted on the doors to the baggage area nor is there any signs at the tops of any stairs/elevators leading to the ticketing area. If one was to go in through baggage then you would not see the signs. Whether you carry in there is up to you and the chance you want to take. May be able to get out of the misdemeanor but I'm sure they will give you grief.

Unfortunately there has been a recent road rage case between two carry permit holders in FL. Really gave us a black eye and I know the Anti-Gunners are going to use that one day soon.

45jon: Though it's always a topic of debate Nashville Airport like any other business can, has decided to post a no firearms sign even if you are staying in the ticketed area. You might be able to get out of it if the sign is not properly posted but you will probably be there a while if they were to catch you.

If you need a good carry case I found one made by Vanguard. Very nice because it has an internal locking system as well eyelets to add additional locks. vanguardusa.com is the website and the one i bought is the 6226. It holds a single compact or subcompact, 3 mags and additional box of ammo if needed. It has the egg shell foam so what i did to keep everything in place was trace the outline of all I wanted in there and then cut out the raised portion of the foam on the bottom. Also took one of the styrofoam holders from a WWB and cut it down to hold 30 rnds. all fits in pretty nice.

If you have a hard shell suitcase I would use that in addition to the hardcase for the pistol. The nice thing about flying with one like was mentioned above. They will visiually inspect it, lock the suitcase back up, and it will stay locked until it gets to the other end. Don't have to worry about TSA getting a bug to open your suitcase after they run it through the xray.

When you renew your permit you are supposed to get a temporary permit to print out and keep until yours arrives. That's my understanding anyway. Should confirm with DOS.

I'm not completely to the point of Taurus sucks but getting there. I have a PT-140 Pro. The captive sping assembly behind the firing pin broke. Called Taurus last week and they said 7-10 days. Not happy about that but what can I do. Well I call back this morning to see if my order has shipped and the rep can't even find my order. On top of that he tells me they are out of stock on it and doesn't know when they will get more. Says their parts are being help up in Brazilian customs. Does anyone know of an alt source for Taurus parts? I've checked alot places online but non carry the 140 pro parts. Is there possibly another model that has a compatible spring assembly? I'm taking the part to a friend of mine that has a CNC shop. He thinks he can make the guide rod assembly out of alum but he really needs a non broken part that he can get mearurements from.

I think this bill may have been forgotten about. I was watching the budget subcommitee of the FW&M committee before the Criminal Practice committee came on. There is a state park carry bill that is still alive and kicking. It's already been passed through the Criminal Practice and Judicary. Anyone know what it means when it says it was taken off notice?

I think 410 was killed because 702 was going to be discussed. I saw several duplicates in other areas. I was kinda hard to hear but I think a couple of the supports of 702 voted now on 410 so there wouldn't be two bills. There was also a bill in the FW&M sub committee about the park carry. I didn't get to see what happened over there. HB0132 I think was the number. Maybe we can sneak it in the back door.
