would/do you carry to a doctor appointment
mdmoseley replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I've carried in my dr's office several times. one has a little 2"x2" international symbol but I always just go in the side door. The other dr I went to I told him before he started and he was completely cool with it. I just told him to remove the shock factor when I pulled it out of my waist. -

You really need to get your head out of the sand. you sound just the like the politicians that think everyone is going to abide by the laws including criminals. By all means though thanks for screwing it for all of us. You almost qualify for a Darwin award there bud. -
She should have called BlondeStar. They could have helped her.

Here is Title 36 Chapter 111 Part 327. from US Code that pertains to ACOE property. Read 327.13. This includes the lakes created by the dam. www.usace.army.mil/publications/eng-pamphlets/ep1165-2-316/entire.pdf Also handgunlaw.us lists ACOE property under the federal restrictions. I'm not trying to argue with you but all the federal regulations I have found say you can't.

Talked to a friend of mine that is a TWRA officer in the Center Hill Lake region. He said yes that the entire lake is Army Core property and yes technically you shouldn't be carrying there but as long as you are not doing something stupid (drinking, etc) they will let it go. So just don't do something stupid or you could be looking at federal firearm charges.
-
I know for a fact that doesn't apply to ACOE lakes. The ACOE website says firearms are strickly prohibited on their property. Their property includes the lake and i believe 10 feet above summer pool. They own that additional amount to allow controlled flooding should the need arise. The reason the ownership of the lake came up is because of Wolf Creek in KY. When they dropped the lake level it left alot of lake bed areas exposed and alot of items that were lost over the years. The people found scavenging were run off and if they were caught again they were supposed to be arrested for trespassing. One area I have not been able to get an answer to is the river below the dam. Edit: ACOE is federal property and falls under federal restrictions. Just an FYI.

Yeah you are going to have to retake the class. If you want to come to nashville there is a place in Murfreesboro that offers a Friday night class as well as a Sunday class. I will check with a friend of mine that lives in knoxville. he probably knows someone.

Don't anyone take this as being racial because I'm not. Those votes should tell you just how many angry white men are still out there.

They estimated the ball at 95mph when it hit him. I'd image the impact force would be in thousands of lbs range. If all he broke was his nose he is extremely lucky. if that had hit an eye socket or cheek bone, he may have never played ball again

Disarmed when stopped by the police?
mdmoseley replied to Fallguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Being I am planning to work at the RCSO I can see this coming up. Unless the situation deems it necessary to disarm someone I won't. Now if they give me a reason to then I most certainly will. -
Get a rope. Someone needs hung for that.

I do believe it is time to change all the screws out for the keyed hex or torx screws. If they are goign to take mine they will have to work for it.

Don't remember the name and it probably won't matter since he was selling off all his stock but this guy told me he would make me a deal on a G27 and give it to me at his cost just to get rid of them. His deal was 525 or 535. The guy at the table right next to him was selling it for 4??. I can't recall the exact price but I just laughed at him and walked away.

If you renewed *before* your current permit expires at a DOT station they gave you a copy of the renewal. Per the DOS that serves as your temp permit until your new one arrives.

I think the Blued version of the The Judge is $399. I won't swear to it though.
-
If you are patial to a .45 then find a shop with The Judge. 3rds of 00 buck shot and 2rnds of a colt 45. That should be able to handle any situation.

To answer your question about the number of rounds i believe it is 33 out of 50 that you have to hit. The instructor has to document simply whether you hit 33 or more. He stopped counting on mine when he got to 33 or whatever the number is if it's not 33.

On-Site Consumption of Alcohol - Carry Question
mdmoseley replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I thought hotels because they were considered a place of residence didn't apply. It seems like I remember that question coming up in our class. Obviously you couldn't go into the bar or the resturant as those are normally sectioned off anyway. -
I have a hand thrower as well as a mechanical thrower. Once you get the hang of throwning them and it does take some practice, I think the hand thrower is easiler. The hand throwers use the same level wrist wrist motion as a fresbee but palm up instead of down. If you do go with a machine get one that can be securely mounted to something so that it's easier to cock.
