  1. Well that wasn't my point. You are correct but the original question was could he transport still in the stripper clips (assuming the ammo and gun are seperate). If stored seperately and in the original packaging I don't see a problem because that is the way it is sold. Look at FAA regulations for a minute. They require it to be in the orginal box (in this case in stripper clips) to transport in checked baggage but you can't transport in a magazine. I know that's the FAA but IMO the same line of thinking would be taken with this. Because it's being transported in the original method you should be fine.
  2. you don't have to lube pistol brass to run it through the press. If you do lube it though you will have to load in two stages cleaning between size/deprime and loading. Also after you size/deprime your rifle brass you need to run it through the tubmler again to get the lube off.
  3. I'll be honest I would be hard pressed to make case with stripper clips because ammo is sold in stripper clips. That would mean someone would have to take all their ammo out of the original boxes and take them off stripper clips just to transport them. That's alot different than loading them into a magazine.
  4. The S&W is just the original designer designation. Just like they made the .40 and like remington designed the 223. If your gun says 38 special whether it has S&W in it or not it shoots a .38 special round. Some also may shoot a +P and your gun would be marked for that also.
  5. Being a LEO you can buy from natchezss.com out of chattanooga. just have to pick them up in person. I can get you the info you need if you are interested.
  6. I load .45s also. I've loaded powerbond and berry's 230gr plated with 4.1grs of titegroup. Both work pretty well. Don't like shooting led because it's too much to clean. If you can get them Precision Delta is cheaper and are FMJ not plated but you will have to wait for them.
  7. Evidently I need to clarify this. Never crossed my mind that someone would think this is loaded ammo. Especially at $85/1k. SOO just to clarify this is NOT loaded ammo. This the projectile only.
  8. Hey will someone edit a title of a thread for me. Thought I could but not the part I need edited. Add Poss Bulk Purchase to the first part of the hornady 55gr FMJBT 223s in ammo and reloading if you would please. Appreciate it.
  9. Looking at a bulk purchase of 6k bullets. I don't need all 6K so thought I would offer some here in incriments of 1K. Will not split smaller amounts than that. Total would be about 85 per 1K. I plan on keeping 2K. Let me know if you would be interested in the remaining 4K. Also if there was enough I would by more. Would consider shipping at buyers expense. PM me or post a reply here.
  10. I forgot the indexing was another part of it. I had the shell plate too tight. you might need to just take it all apart and clean it really good. There may also need a few things lubricated.
  11. What size primer are you loading? If it's large you may need to swap the primer punch out. At first didn't realize I had to do that on mine and once I swapped it all was fine.
  12. I was selling a box of 2500+ pieces on gunbroker for 160-170. Still have a lot of 40 and 357sig if anyone needs any.

    some eye candy

I would. Since they are already registered in CA that means they can stay. If they have been taken off the allowed pistols list then they would be worth more. Sell it for more in CA and buy another when you get to TN cheaper. Simple economics.
  14. One thing they had us do at the academy was have a buddy either load a live round or hand you an empty gun. Obviously takes a second person but effective.
  15. What caliber are you wanting to load?
  16. If the round did go off, the projectile will not go anywhere. The round will give at the weakest point which is the casing. There would be some schratnal.
  17. Codes doesn't need a warrant to do an inspection.
  18. Yeah that seems to have fixed. I had turned it back the 1/4 turn like i was supposed to but I might have tightened to much initially. Think i am goign with a different primer next time though.
  19. Loaded about 300 or so today. Think I figured it out. The edge of the shell plate was catching the primer and turning it. I loosened the shell plate bolt up a tad more and it seemed to index better and the last 200ish I only had 1 go in sideways on me. Maybe that was all it needed.
  20. It's flipping right in the priming station just prior to priming though so it's not a feed problem.
  21. Called Dillon but they really didn't offer any worthwhile advice. I have a 650 that has given me no problems with small primers. However I am now loading 45s and the large primers are giving me problems. For some reason about 1 out of 10ish primers are flipping sideways in the primer/charging station. Obviously that is causing the primer to load sideways. Anyone else run into this problem? I am using wolf primers for now.
  22. Verizon is getting the Iphone in December. Just a thought.
  23. If you are serious about reloading get a Dillon. I have a 650. Customer service is incredible even if you buy used.
  24. I have placed about 6 orders with them and never had a problem. May not buy anything else from them in the future once I read all the info but as far as ordering and getting product I have never had an issue.
  25. I think you are looking at the box of 5000 not 1000.
