I thought the same thing. I've tried several different types of ammo in my CMMG, and all my groups at 25 yds. with a red dot (no magnification) are just as good or better than the grouping Earl had with the Thunderbolts. (I'm not bragging, please don't take it that way)

I've found that Remington Thunderbolts are just about the dirtiest ammo that you can shoot. They might be accurate, but they sure get your gun crudded up fast. Oh Shoot - I've been wondering if you can use a conversion bolt in a dedicated upper. The bolt in my CMMG upper isn't stainless and I have a stainless conversion bolt that I'd like to use in it if I could. So how do you go about changing the chamber collar to the barrel adapter?

Ahhhh. The "slippery slope of backyard hens." Yep. I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting better at my chicken imitations every day! :D LOL

I have a CMMG Sierra upper that I put on a PSA lower and I can honestly say that out of all the guns I've ever own/owned or shot, this one is my absolute favorite. It's cheap to feed, I don't need hearing protection when I shoot it, it's dead accurate out to 75 yards, and it never jams or misfires until you've shot around 500 rounds through it and the bolt becomes so gooped up with crud that it just can't cycle anymore. I have a Vortex Strikefire red dot on it with back up irons and I can pick off golf balls easily at 50 yards. I can't speak for the JSE upper that Earl has, but I honestly don't see how it could shoot any better than my CMMG. If you don't have a dedicated .22 upper and you enjoy shooting, do yourself a huge favor and get one!!! :)

Having chickens and dealing with predators go hand in hand. Around here, I have foxes, coyotes, possums, coons, snakes, and big rats to name a few. I've had chickens several times over the last 20 years and every time, they eventually all got killed by predators. This time, however, is different. This time, I built my coop right next to my dog pen and the dogs keep everything scared away. I also used 7 ft welded wire fence with 4 ft of chicken wire attached at the bottom with 2 ft of it rolled out onto the ground and covered with dirt. This way, when something comes up and tries to dig under, they hit the wire and can't dig any further. So far, the only deaths I've had were caused from another hen pecking two of my chicks heads. Since I got rid of her, all is well. :)

You should be ashamed. ;) Kidding aside, order her one asap! She will thank you for it, I promise! :)

I have actually contacted Nate and asked about the possibility of them making a double clip model. He basically told me that a lot of work and time went into making their single clip models. It's been a while, and I can't remember exactly what the reason behind it was, but his answer was no. Maybe if he had enough people contacting him that were interested in it, he would change his mind.

I'm thinking about ordering this Cross Draw Belt Holster from HolsterPro.com . Has anyone here ever tried any of their products?

I've been carrying my PF9 in the original model for over a year now and I love it. My only complaint is that when it's been against my bare skin for several hours after sweating a lot, it makes me itchy. However, no matter how wet the backing gets, my gun is always 100% dry. I also wish that Nate would make a double clip model. The single clip design is pretty stable, but after a lot of physical activity mine will sometimes shift a little bit on me.

You should email the girl from the show "Sons of Guns" and ask her where she got her AR15 pendant from. It looks really nice and not tacky at all.

Ultrasonic cleaner suggestions
PackinMama replied to Dustbuster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I use a Lyman 1200 tumbler for my brass and I like it a lot. I mainly wanted an ultrasonic cleaner for guns and gun parts like AR bolts. I got the one from Harbour Freight, but I haven't used it yet. I got lucky.....It was the last one on the shelf when I went last Friday. -
Ultrasonic cleaner suggestions
PackinMama replied to Dustbuster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I'm going to Harbor Freight tomorrow to buy this. Everyone still have good things to say about it? I'm curious what the dimensions of the inner basket are? I was also wondering......Is it ok to put polymer gun parts in it.....like the lower receivers of my Glocks? If so, what's a good and safe cleaning solution for polymer? -
I have the coolest little Bantam rooster ever. I'm not sure what variety he is, but his feet are covered with feathers and he raises his feet really high, almost like a walking horse, and he stomps around.....then he does this little dance thing when he's showing off for the hens. The feathers on his feet make his feet look HUGE and it's just hilarious to watch him. Then I have Silkies and they are absolutely beautiful with their feathers that look and feel like fur, and they're super tame and let you pick them up and pet them. I just love my chickens! :) Anyone that doesn't have any (and can where they live) really needs to get some! Not only do they produce food daily, but they are a real joy to have around.

Well, I can vouch for the vicious part. That hen I had would raise her head up as high as she could, then come down with authority and peck the crap out of my little ones heads while they were bent over eating. They didn't have time to starve to death. I'm pretty certain she was the cause of their demise. Funny thing is, I've had chickens several times over the last 20 years and I've never seen that kind of behavior before.

.22 LR in stock at cabelas hurry!!!
PackinMama replied to JoeJ615's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The last two orders I received from Cabelas had those Cepacol packs in them. One of those orders was my M22's a couple days ago. My Thunderbolts are due to arrive tomorrow. :) -
Along with my Rhode Island Reds, Americaunas, and a pair of Bantams, I have a few young Silkies, about 5 months old. I picked up a 9 month old Delaware and a Wyandotte at the flea market about a month ago and shortly after, two of my Silkies got very lethargic and died within 12 hours of me noticing them. No visible injuries whatsoever. I noticed the new Delaware hen pecking the tops of the little Silkies heads when they would try to eat at the feeding pan with her. I removed the Delaware from the lot and haven't had any more chickens die since. So, I'm wondering, is that common for a hen to kill other hens??

Very nice! I recently got a few chickens and I love them. I'm wondering though....where are your nesting boxes? Also....what is that gray pipe along the bottom front of the tractor for?

.22 LR in stock at cabelas hurry!!!
PackinMama replied to JoeJ615's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well I got another email saying it was backordered to 6-30. The thing I'm a little irritated about is that they charged my debit card immediately. I'm going to have to call them and see what they're planning on doing about that. I think they should credit it back to my account and then wait to charge me until it ships.....we'll see what they say I guess. -
