Does Gov't know what firearms you have?
ProjectDexter replied to ohbehave's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The supercomputers like the one they built at oakridge is now saving information to giant server farms across the nation. Analyzing data and building profiles of businesses and individuals. If I were a betting man, I'd say gun sales and FFL processing info is sent to those types of computers. -
Removing KAC Free Float rail
ProjectDexter replied to ProjectDexter's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I think this thing is gonna have to be sent to adco, holy cow! put heat on it, strap wrench, felt like I got a LOT of torque on it and it still won't budge. I'm sure its got factory loctite or something on it but I heated it thoroughly. -

I'm gonna bump this, anyone know where I can find a nylon strap wrench? I have a heat gun and a rubber strap wrench that I don't think will work... Grrrrrrr -
Feel like taking a hike on the weekend? Drive over to the Garrison Creek recreation area on the Natchez Trace Parkway, about a mile south of the Leiper's Fork exit on Hwy 46. The trail starts next to the restroom building and is about 4 miles long. The southwest corner of the Garrison Creek trail, where it cuts back toward the starting point, is a pine glade, lots of trees and cones, and a beautiful place with hardly anyone else around.
I'll have to check that out!

THanks! I guess I need to look harder lol.

I see lots of Bushcrafters use Pine sap or resin, sometimes dried and crystalized, and they just get it right off of a pine or evergreen tree. Do we have an average amount of trees here in Tennessee that bleed resin like that? All the evergreens I seem to find on the farm are dry as ever, see lots of people start fires with the resin and even make "fatwood" from it.

It is an SR-15/16 I don't believe that is the same as an URX -
I'm trying to remove one from my Noveske upper. What a pain in the bleep. Has anyone ever installed or removed a free float Knights Armament rail from an AR before? I can't seem to find any step by step install of a KAC, I've seen a few YHM which appear similar but either someone went crazy with loctite or I am doing it wrong. The plastic piece looks like it should unscrew and then back away towards the receiver but it won't budge. Any experience with these rails guys?

Good Entry Level Red Dot for AR-15
ProjectDexter replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have a primary arms micro dot (aim point t1 clone) and it is rock solid. Holds a fine zero even after taking it off the gun and chucking it across the field. Put it on an American defense mount, and then when you upgrade to a real aim point you will already have a great mount. -
The best mossberg for home defense or any kind of tactical modding would be the 590a1, I would stick with 870 if you're going to do it yourself. Especially if you plant on putting a pistol grip and telescoping butt stock like the blackhawks. The Safety on the Mossbergs are not in a very good spot for pistol grip application, just something to consider.

I think they look awesome but the sights are not to my liking and from what I've heard the finish does not hold up well.

bead blast the barrel

I love that etching in the tang of the handle, that's gives it a great touch and is obviously a good advertisement
-
Keltec barrels respond well to some flitz compound as well. As others have said, if you rub in oil generously and periodically it will start soak in and have a somewhat darker looking sheen to the finish.

Most pastors around here welcome the idea of packing in church, some are even packing themselves.

Sounds good thanks
Yeah, I could buy "set up" but he said empty, that's why I thought it was suspicious. OP you mention "it was installed". Who installed this?
Not a professional that's for sure! Local guy with some ARs. Might just send it to adco, has anyone had experience with the smith at On Target in Murfreesboro?
