    5.45x39 AR Upper

Why sign up for for another forum. You can just order them from the source that is making the mags just for about everybody else at half the price. Plus the the company is Veteran owned. C Products Store Poak, I have only got about three to four hundred flawless through mine. I just went home to pick it up. Thats in two trips to the ranges here at the Fort.
  2. I bought some at Hero Gear a long while back. Give Joe a call.

    5.45x39 AR Upper

I can't speak for the other uppers but on the S&W it is all chrome lined and has a stainless gas tube. You just run hot water/window cleaner through it and blow it out. Then clean as normal. My tantal gets funkier with the surplus ammo because of the cheap steel. The tantal you have to clean immediately. Don't let it sit over night The guys here have shot thousands of rounds of surplus with no issue. There are four that I know of that shoot 5.45. From the rangemaster there are more. I am stationed at a BCT/AIT Fort. These people show up with all kinds of weird stuff. I know guys that complain about 7.62/39 AR's due to mag and feeding problems.

    5.45x39 AR Upper

All the Russian compaines are starting to release civilian ammo in this caliber. I have seen Barnul hunting ammo and silver bear in this caliber. you can already get reloading dies. Also the East German and Polish surplus has not made it onto the market yet.

    5.45x39 AR Upper

I own one and love it. I bought ammo at 120.00 a can. Mine shoots as well as my other AR with standard military ammo. You need to use C-products 5.45 mags. One comes with the upper. you can use a standard .223 mag for up to 10 rounds. The OAL for both the rounds is about the same, But the 5.45 case is much shorter, its the long bullet that makes the difference. I also own a Tantal and it in no way shoots as well as this AR. Plus my tantal does not keyhole. The only difference is you have to add one step to the cleaning process if you use surplus ammo. I love my S&W AR in this round. Poak, I will be home on leave in October. You are more than welcome to shoot mine.
  8. Welcome!!!
  9. Sounds like you had a great time. I started going to G&L regular before my current tour of duty. I am coming home next week for pass and my little Girl's B-day and hope to make it up there Friday. There are a lot of nice people there and have a first class range.

BTW when are you sending me the recipe for SOS for a company sized DFAC? You know the one you won the championship at F. Lee with. Hook a fellow SPOON up!.
  15. I own a pistol pack with all the barrel's. In their day DW has won more metallic silhouette matches than any pistol made and for years was touted as the most accurate revolver out of the box because the barrel is supported at both ends. The second gen model 15-2 was the best seller and is showing a come back. Mine has all the lengths and a rare 15" hunting barrel. saw a pistol pack go for 1500 recently.

  17. I alzo have a few CZ rifle in rimfire and they are deadly accurate.
  18. Hearsay, purpose driven weapons maybe. I'm still soldiering after 34 years and was at the Infantry board two weeks ago visiting cronies and it's still the M-4/16 and the 5.56. Just who might be making them might change. Try some different AK's, when I get home In a month you can shoot some of mine if you like. Go to one of the TGO shoots and look some over.
  19. I own a Century Tantal and have not had the issues stated. I know of four others that do not have these issues. Most of the issues were caused by using the wrong ammo 70 gr wolf. We all use com-block 52-56 grain surplus. The problem seems to be in the mid -production guns and the twist rate on the early ones. I have yet to read and article to prove that they were 5.56 barrels or some one had one slugged. It is a crap shoot when dealing with Century on anything. My Tantal had a canted sight. I had a AK custom built for around 600.00. The AMD and VZ are good buys and shooters. Saigas are good shooters but the cost is run up in the conversion. I like the 5.45 round and also have a AR that shoots it. If the 7.62X39 was all that, why invent the 5.45 which replaced it in 1975. Most of the former Com-Block are going to 5.56 due to wanting to join NATO.
