  1. Makes you wonder of the politics involved. A 1076 is coming up on my short list of one to get. Along with a Mdl 39 or 59. I don't have a S&W Auto yet. I held a M&P 9c the other day and it felt great.
  2. In the intial test there were a few calibers tested. From that the 10MM was picked. Then the testing went to what platform for the 10MM. Eventually that is what the 40 S&W came from. Long story, short version here: 10mm Auto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  3. Good health- Call from my Doctor. Netbook Clothes Chocolate Combo light/Radio/Siren- From my 5 yo Daughter Pocket Screw Driver set "Dad" on it from my Son

    Happy Holidays?

    Merry Christmas to all!!
  5. Froggy I bow to your knowledge learned over at the S&W forum. You might want to read the actual published paper from the FBI. I would love to see the item about the Glock law suit. The Glock 20 was intoduced in 91 and the 29 in 1997. Well after the trials. As far as the 1076 goes it was a big pistol and a lot of agents couldn't get their hands around it. Thus causing issues according to my family and friends with the agency. There are still some that carry the 1076 till this day. You hear the straight poop at FLETC Glynco from the instructors.
  6. Some of you on here have known that I was going through some medical issues over the past three months. I was sent to Eisenhower Army Medical Center to have biopsies done on two masses found in my chest. Well the Doctor just called me a couple of hours ago and told me it was not Cancer and the tumors were benign. Well I had to compose myself after speaking with the Colonel. This is the best gift that I have ever received. I feel my Family and I have been blessed. Magiccarpetrides (Vince) thanks to you and your Dad for checking on me all the time. I am blessed to have friends like you. I would like to tell all of you Merry Christmas and wish only the best of things to come to my friends here on TGO.
  7. I had one of those years ago. Killed my hand. Traded it two weeks afterwards. The Bond Arms looked to be built well. Kind of like a Mini Taurus Judge.
  8. Bachelor Party!!!!
  9. I am glad He's home with you. I am home on leave also. It's great to be with family.
  10. Congrats. Remember if the Army wanted you to have a wife, they would of issued you one.
  11. I believe thats FM 3-05.70. It is a good source.
  12. Welcome to TGO.
  13. She looks nice, What caliber is she sporting?
  14. I think only if you purchased it with your C&R license you have to put it in your bound book.
  15. This guy is the best for working on that 10-12 Lbs trigger. He does good work on AR's also. He's cheap also. Bill Springfield - www.TriggerWork.net
  16. Vince, just take that Girl with you. You won't have to worry about anybody talking to you. Maybe about you? LOL
  17. Thanks for all the replies. So what I gather no one has purchase one yet. I'll see if I can get down there and see a sample to drool over.
  18. On the stainlesss the frame will be forged. All bar stock instead of mim. Beveled slide. improved fire control parts. Heine straight eight sights. G-10 bobtail grips. Thats off the top my head. If you go to 1911forum.com there is a more detail description. It will be between 400-450 more than the old CBOB with a cast frame and mim parts. I still want to look at the new DW's. No one has seen them. I just think the stainless VBOB a good buy. Try to find a DW in stock. The 2009 pruduction line is sold. You have no problem finding Wilsons, Nigthawks and Baer's. I have seen shelves full of them. DW was built on value I know. Some of there prices are out of line. We will just have to see.
  19. Again we are talking about the Valor bobbed not the CBOB. Never mind.
  20. I was tinking of somebody other than the owner of Hero Gear. Unless there is another Joe.
  21. I was wondering if anyone on the Forum that owns a Hero Gear 1911? I am home on leave and planning on heading on down to their shop. I would like the Owners opinon and a range report on their new 1911. Thanks
  22. Thanks, for the articles. Interesting the Para was tested off the benchrest and the Valor was shot offhand.
  23. Love my job! Nothing like taking care of Soldiers.
  24. 'm To each their own. You need to look at VBOB pricing in Stainless MSRP $1658.00. Re read the thread. They tend to run 2-300 less than their MSRP. The discussion was the VBOB vs the CBOB in stainless. Joe and the Guys at Hero Gear are a great group. They should serve you well. I bought a DW 1911 from them. I recently inquired on a Longslide. Was quoted 1800.00 from HG. I went with a Fusion for 1300.00. Bob Serva has a great reputation in the industry. I have been MOB'ed since Hero Gear has introduce their line of 1911's. I used to get by there once every 10 days. I hope to see them soon and get a look at them. I didn't care for the Roll Mark on the slide. I sure they can remedy that.
  25. I don't know about the state but CMP has good buys on them: Commercial .22 Target Rifles
