  1. When the great ammo shortage was going on you could find 357 SIG and 45 GAP on the shelves. I don't see it going away if that many state agencies are using it. Georgia Arms was selling it for 17- $18.00/50. My friend has one and loves it due to small hands. But I personally agree with most on here you can find a good used Glock in a more normal caliber for a bit more money.
  2. Yes, The MP's and whatever the Air Force CID is called will go after him for using a fake or possibly stolen ID. If it invloves dealing in firearms I am sure they would be intrested. I would call the nearest AFB and tell them what happened. I would still try the Postal Police/Investigators.
  3. What caliber and how much? I have a stash of Fiocchi 9mm, it is excellent ammo,

    Great News

As some of you have known I have been at home on medical leave from the Army after having Cardiothoracic surgery. They removed some unidentified tumors from behind my Sternum. Well I am at Ft Gordon/Ft Jackson for my post-op check up and have been cleared for limited duty. The laboratory reports came back that it is not Cancer. Just benign tumors which were removed. Woo Woo!! So it's back to Tennessee for four more weeks leave. I would like to thank those for their support and prayers. Also for this forum which has provided most of my entertainment due to daytime TV sucks. I'm glad the big man upstairs was looking out for me and the Family.
  5. Most of here know of the online retailer Palmetto State Armory. They just moved into their new facility in Columbia, SC. I am currently stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC which is also in Columbia, so I took a drive out there. They just opened in a new Business Park ,it is a huge facility. When I walked through the front door I was in their new retail gun shop. I was greeted by what turned out to be the owner. While talking to him it came up that I was from Tennessee and about this Forum. He was excited to hear about the forum and he stated that his traffic online had increased from Tennessee. He took my children and I on a tour of the facility. One thing they use is active inventory control system so there is no back orders. They are also building a indoor shooting range. This new range is good news, there is only one indoor range in Columbia which charges $8.00 per half hour. The prices in their store were the same as online, so I loaded up on some 5.56. He gave my children a free hat. He inquired about becoming a sponsor here so I gave him the info. Overall a nice morning hanging out with some really nice people. If your ever in Columbia, SC check them out. Ammunition, Magazines, Rifle Parts and Accessories
  6. I ran up on a Hi-Point awhile back for 150.00 with 10 mags and a redot. It is a blast to shoot. Thinking about putting another stock on it.
  7. Got up and lowered the flag to half mast, raised it at noon. Grilled out and spent time with the Family. Took a short trip in the afternoon and met up with a TGO member for a awesome deal on a pistol. Went home and spent more time with the Family. Good to be home on leave, even if it is medical leave. Headed to Ft Gordon in the morning for my check-up.
  8. Welcome to TGO. If you are intrested in a Army Reserve Unit, I'm standing up a new unit in the Donelson area. I used to live on Graylynn Dr in Donelson.
  9. There is nothing wrong with DPMS I own and have owned several over the years. Great customer service. The one from midway is not a bad price because it includes the BCG and CH. The others you were looking at didn't. There are many entry level uppers for under 500.00. Aim surplus has a good deal on some Spikes M4 and Mid length complete upper assemblies. The specs are very good on them.
  10. +1 This is a hard price to beat for local purchase.
  11. May be you could try silt fence at the bottom where the erosion is. It's not too expensive.

    Smokers?

I have had this model for about two months and love it.
  13. I stopped in this shop to check it out. While there I asked them if they could install a Knight's Armament Quad Rail on my AR. I had recently had open chest surgery and I could not manage to pull down the delta ring. He (Adam) asked me to go get it and installed it at no charge right there on the spot. The store have a good selection of pistols, rifles, ammo and basic reloading supplies. They seem to be set up for the HCPand EBR market. This feels a nich in the MT. Juliet/Lebanon, Wilson Countyarea with out having to drive 30 miles. The staff was extremly helpful. I don't know how long they have been there but it was worth checking out.

    Plinker revolver

+1 I have had one for years. Everybody I let shoot it loves it.
  15. He can go to the local recruiting office in his area and start the process. I don't know any active duty recruiters. Any of them can see if he even has a chance. I'm active reserve and it is still difficult.
  16. What service is he interested in? The Army is frozen right now. Even for prior services. They are getting all they want. Most have some college. Infantry and EOD are hiring. But you have to be solid.
  17. My wife and I both have the Tom Tom XL 325. 88.00 at Wal Mart online on sale. They have spoken word turn by turn and US and Canada. They have a big screen 4.5. We have traveled all over the SE. I travel in the military the entire SE. It has not led me astray. others that are with me have Garmins and they have not been correct all the time. As with anything I guess you pay for what you get. I feel this unit is a bargin. Also this is our first GPS.
  18. You guy's can have her. I was already tired of her S***. That Hula Hoop always knocking over stuff and eating cracker in the Bed.
  19. Thanks for the heads up. I was going to check it out today. Not!
  20. Nice pistol. Be careful those DW's are infectious. I have two and one on order.

    walther pk vs. ppk

+1 on Hero Gear to check out. The PK380 is a polymer gum. The PPK is a proven 70 year old desigh and a all metal gun, (= Higher cost due to machining). I have a all stainless PPK/s that I love. It was the premeir BUG for years. The PK380 is brand new and the jury is still out on that with mixed reviews.
  22. Looks nice. Good job on the Duracoat.
  23. I went to Stones River yesterday. Ther were only three people on the range and no Nazi's. Made for a nice afternoon.
  24. It is made in Pakistan, in other word it is s***. It is more than likely SMG ammo. (Hot Loaded) P1 Walther's have alloy frames and are known to have cracked before the modification. I have never had any good experiences with Paki Ammo. You are better off buying the Russian ammo for the same price.
  25. Wilson County Fair, Gladefest in Gladeville.
