  1. Triune Saddle Shop The Saddle Shop It's a tack shop that also sell guns. he also does custom leather work.
  2. My concern is not over a slight increase in velocity. It has to due with the increased accuracy with polygonal rifling. Noveske use a modified type of Polygonal. My query was whether someone on here owns one or has shot one. Not a lesson in physics. Something new is not always bad. This appears new to the AR platform. A couple of well know manufacturer's are now making this type barrel.
  3. I have a 30sf and like it. I want to try a 36. They are hard to find for some reason. Especially used.
  4. I have read that it increases it. All most every review I have read states the same, From Wiki a short version A number of advantages are claimed by the supporters of polygonal rifling. These include: Not compromising the barrel's thickness in the area of each groove as with traditional rifling. Providing a better gas seal around the projectile as polygonal bores tend to have a slightly smaller bore area, which translates into more efficient use of the combustion gases trapped behind the bullet, slightly greater (consistency in) muzzle velocities and slightly increased accuracy. Less bullet deformation, resulting in reduced drag on the bullet when traveling through the barrel which helps to increase muzzle velocity. Reduced buildup of copper or lead within the barrel which results in easier maintenance characteristics. Prolonged barrel life. The majority of polygonal rifled barrels are hammer forged. This is common practice in Europe gaining intrest here.
  5. I feel it's the nature of things. The offers that are low balled , then ask you to drive across the state I just ignore. I reply with a simple no and then delete. Some are pretty funny. I don't take offense. I make a living at a Auction and all things are negotiated until there is a deal.
  6. The one's I turned in at the depo as a Drill were shot out. I would be wary of where these acutually came from. There are better deals out there. J & S Gun Parts, We carry, Olympic Arms, Bushmaster, Ruger, Colt, Rock River, DPMS, Fat Bastard, Rock River and so much more
  7. I know the 135's in my 10mm are pushing 1600fps. These are nosler 135 which will work in .40/10MM. They are a blast to shoot and what I carry in my Commander.
  8. The barrel I am looking at is a blackened stainless barrel by Black Hole Weponry. The complete upper is here. COMPLETE AR Upper w/ Quad Rail, Match BBL, BCG & Charging Handle [Complete Upper w/Quad Rail & BCG] - $499.00 : New Frontier Armory - Firearm Sales, Transfers, and Consignment It has a 3R polygonal riifling. These upper have had some good reviews on the forums out west. It is my understanding that most polygonal rifled barrels are hammer forged. I am going to call them for more info.
  9. Helllo and welcome
  10. As a fellow Medic, she will be in my thoughts. She will be home before you know it.
  11. Do your homework on dealer cost. I was at a dealer looking at the $35K Carmaro on the show room floor. He told me it had a $1200.00 markup, I called BS and he showed me the MSO. I couldn't believe it. Although he does get some hold back at the end of the year. New cars take a huge hit after ther sold. The deal is on current or last years model used on most vehicles.
  12. I call on most of the GM dealers in Mid State. You might want to check on Stan McNabb or Russell Barnett. Both are a bit south of you but are great people. The Traverse and Equinox are both hot sellers. I have the GM closed sale and GMAC sale for the area. Unfortunately it is a dealer only auction. The end of the month is the best time to buy.
  13. I have been reading lately about polygonal rifling in AR barrels. I am thinking of a new upper. Does anyone here own one or have any experience with this type of barrel? This will be a 5.56 set up.

    AR parts question

Yes, just check the drop downs under the listing. It gives options.

  16. I just realized that extra ammo I carried for the M60 gunner all those years ago added over 10 pounds to my regular load. That Ba@#$%d.
  17. You changed it to from grams to grains before I could post. LOL
  18. One round of 5.56 55gr Lake City = 182 grains One round of 7.62 150 gr FN = 368 grains Weight taken on a Dillon Precision Electronic Scale This was the average of over 5 rounds. No matter 20 or 30 it is basically double the weight.
  19. Interesting, when were you in? Were the dud's failure on the launch or on impact?
  20. Mike 357, I have been at this awhile. I have done surveys, classes, Q&A's, test panel's and just plain asked on things from MRE's to Gay's in the military. I just got one the other day on military health care. No, I don't think they listen. It boils down to politics and money.
  21. The ammo is available with proper paperwork. Practice rounds are the most economic due to dye/paint. It can also be inserted for 37mm novelty rounds. But for the most part for a collection. Just one example: 40mm Ammo : Ammunition To Go cheaper in bulk
  22. +100 When I was on the trail, a trainee got to fire one mag at full auto to show how hard it is to hit a target at certain distances. Only when we had excess at the end of the day did we burn it up. Turning in live ammo is a PIA. Basic load is/was 7 mags, that doesn't last long on auto.
  23. Been thinking about getting a M79. I prefer the wood stocked version made in the mid-60's by Exotic Metal Products or Springfield Armory (The real one) none of that plastic stocked crap for me. Or should I look at the M203 due to the mounting availability to a host weapon. Also should I take into consideration the maximum range of each platform, 350m for the M79 and 150m for the M203. I'm leaning toward that classic the M79 (Blooper/Thumper) it's making a comeback. What say you?
  24. God bless SPC Nathan Carse. I will pray for that soldier and his family.
