  3. There is a Warrior Transition Unit at Ft Campbell. (WTU). I am a Senior Healthcare Advisor (NCO) to an MP BDE and have soldiers at a few of these WTU's in the south. If you need the contact info for one I can get it for you. I find it a privilege and a honor to work with these individuals. Just shoot me a PM if needed.
  4. Good luck to you. I'm on number 34 this year. I want to retire but still have small children at home.
  5. I know who's house I'm coming to when my lowers get here.
  6. You are in my prayers. I went through a surgery a year ago to have my tumors removed. Just had the followup yesterday and now waiting on the results. Remember you are not alone on your walk.
  7. Could you post it up on the board. I am intrested.
  8. I have bought quite a few guns at Eastside Gun Shop in Nashville. Next would be the old Hero Gear, then Guns and Leather in Greenbriar.
  9. I have one that i bought new in 1980 for about three hundred. They are making the revolver again at the new Dan Wessonthey will be about $1500.00. That is just for the rovolver from what I have heard. The pistol packs of old are bringing between 900-20000depending on what you have. Mine has the extra 15" barrell.Sent from the Beach using my Kindle!!!!!!
  10. Mine was shooting 380's and J frames. She shot my SIG 220 in .45 recently and that was all she wrote. She wants a 220 compact now. Take here to a range that rents guns and let her try some out. It personal and different for each person.
  11. An oldie but a goodie. Army manual FM 21-10 Still in use. Look in the annex for water purification tables. http://ec.europa.eu/echo/files/policies/evaluation/watsan2005/annex_files/USACE/USACE2%20-%20Field%20Sanitation.pdf
  12. I'm with the others on the Happich Simi Chrome. Best polish for metals that I have found.
  13. I have shot a lot of surplus ammo through mine. The S &W is chrome lined. The only step you add is some water. I then blow out mine with some air then clean as normal. I don't even take the hand guards off. I use to clean my black powder rifle in the bath tub. Hot soap and water. I have Guy's I know that shoot these uppers on a full auto lower. They have shot the barrel out before any corrosion has set in.
  14. Call the Reloaders bench in Mt Juliet. They have a couple of colors at one time.
  15. Great people and experts on AK parts carolinashooterssupply.com Home Page The original importer. This is part of Keng's Firearms out of Atlanta "Your Source for Quality AK-47 & SKS Accessories" Results for AK-47 Give them both a call.
  16. I have a 5.45 upper from S&W also. I have had no issues. I would call S&W. There warranty is second to none. The bolts on a 5.45 are different than a 5.56. You could also take the extractor apart and make sure it is clean and has the proper spring and insert in it.

    Sig Question

I own both styles in .45. But my custom shop SIG 220 Elite in SAO is a work of art. I have a few 1911's also. The SAO triiger on the SIG is a work of art.
  18. +20 on this. What a great after work read. I needed to smile
  19. As far as uncluttered stripped AR lowers go both Tactical Innovations and Sabre Defense stripped lower have the bare minimum engraved on them require by the ATF. No logo's ,Just engraved lettering. I have used a few TI lowers and they have been of good quality. I'm still looking for a Sabre stripped lower for a Sabre upper I have. Many have told me they are of good quality also.
  20. This, I've used this policy at least five times and always came out on top. Ebay covers the loss. If the seller misrepresented the product or stated he takes returns. It needs to state in the ad the the item was covered under there protection policy.
  21. i tried it and got good color and even coat. It still seems soft after two years and nicks easty.
  22. I grew up in Lithonia/Conyers, GA. My dad used to run shine when he was young, Will Carry we are also to the same age also. Thanks for the great story.
  23. I was told by my Cousin, BTW is a Captain on a Metro Atlanta Police Dept that over half the guns they confiscate and offer up for bids are Hi Point's. Anything nice that is taken up usually on the stolen list. I've posted this up before, but while at a range with the Army in Atlanta. I watched the instructor for a police department spank all comers with a Hi Point .45. His point was training not the gun causes accuracy. It was a great class they let us sit in on.
  24. Way to go Joe! Site looks great. Wish you well in your new adventure.
  25. Dolomite, that story is too true. At Ft Jackson it was a 10 Gauge insert. They also had a larger one for retreats I believe was 20 MM for the salutes. I was on the color guard there. It was mandatory when you were in Drill Sergeant School. The retreat was on Friday afternoons. We had to check the bore also. That was almost thirty years ago. I was at Ft Jackson recently and it is still the tradition.
