  1. It goes by quick, Just a few months ago I went over 35 years. First AD, then Reserve, now AD.
  2. I can't ever remember watching a game when one team only made it past the 50 yard line once. I have to give it to Alabama they shut LSU down. I don't think LSU can call what happened a off night.
  3. I think it would be an interesting rifle. Savage is suppose to offer a rifle in 5.45X39 soon also. I'm very interested in looking at one of those. Are you going to use the current offering from Savage in 7.62x39 as a base rifle to start or just re-barrel a Savage action?
  4. I like my MKIII better after I took out the mag disconnect and put in a Lam's Hammer bushing. I still like my Hi-Standards and Hammerli Trailside better. To me it is a heavy pistol even compared to my all steel Hi-Standards. I do want to try a 22/45 due to the polymer frame.
  5. What a beautiful rifle. I still have my first Mountain Rifle I built 30 years ago from a kit. But mine pales in comparison to yours. Let us know how it shoots.

    Need help deciding

Glock 30SF. Not a fan of lever guns.
  7. When the .17 HMR first came out the test platform was on a Marlin . Could not find one anywhere. Went to the Walmart near FT Benning and ordered one and they had it in a week. At that time I didn't put any money down.
  8. That's great. Congrats!! Daddy sure looks proud in that picture.
  9. Being a South Carolina Gamecock I couldn't be happier.
  10. Welcome to the Group. I used to fly DUSTOFF.
  11. Go to Caronlina Shooters Supply. They have videos and the parts needed.
  12. It's good that he has someone local to give him a hand, hopefully this will work out and he will enjoy his new build.
  13. To the orginal OP, is this your first AR? If so try out the stock trigger. The last three PSA's I have built have had great stock trigger pulls. All were built in PSA lowers. You can buy a low pack less Hammer/ Trigger group if you still want to go with non-milspec/stock. Good luck with your build, be careful they multiply.
  14. The site also list those places that are gun friendly. I wrote them an email and thanked them for posting up this site so I would know where to go eat and where not to. lol
  15. http://fnforum.net/geissele-super-scar-trigger-t26794.html Here's one Geisselle vs a Springfield Heard and used are two different things. I have used Bill's work for years with no issues after thousands of round on different platforms. Hell,Google Geiselle Trigger problems and enjoy the read. All of them have problems from time to time. For $44.00 with return shipping for a 4 pound trigger is cheap. He even offers a money back guarentee. Plus he has done work for free on a pack I wanted upgraded. There are 100X more atta boy's out there for his work vs He suck's. I have had worse service out of the local gunsmiths doing work and not one test fired the weapon. The internet and BS has caused alot of mis-information. There are a lot of good drop in parts out there and all of them have had issues from time to time. Most of it is user error. Like Dolomite stated you never know with any of them unitll you shoot it. Safety in a big concern.BTW the RRA NM is a nice trigger for the money. Not slamming the Geisslee, they are great triggers. I like a single stage because it is what I have to carry. I have a Sabre set and a LR-308 AP4 Set going out this next week to him. If the .308 doesn't work out I might have to try a Giesselle.
  16. Have you call the actual lock manufacturer to see if they can give some insight?
  17. LOL
  18. Bill Springfield does great work on single stage triggers for the money. His prices include shipping. From 4 pound to 2.5 pound. He did miracles on a Hk 91 and a CETME trigger pack for me also.Bill Springfield - www.TriggerWork.net
  19. I had a local smith clean my stock RIA trigger up for about $30. It is not rocket science to someone that knows their way around a 1911. +2 for Phil at Bellshire. He has been a RIA stocking dealer before they became popular. Been on Gunbroker a long time as the go to man for RIA.
  20. I use John Wall at Eastside Gun Shop. He just tweaked my Government .380. Parts are hard to find for our pistols so be careful, they haven't been available from Colt for over 5 years.
  21. I have known this guy for years from the Auto Auction Business. He has always been a stand up guy in his business practices and very just a very nice person. I have dealt with him over several years. He is a exporter of used cars. If he is involved I would be surprised. Maybe a scapegoat. I know of another incident that involved a person that exported luxury cars to Russia and he was innocent.
  22. The last time I was there I was in the market for a MSAR STG. Theirs was $2600.00 and I bought mine elsewhere for $1100.00. I was treated like crap while I was there. I ask to see the rifle and was told in a minute. I had already been there 1/2 hour. I won't go back. I also tell everybody I know about it.
  23. I have found out of a Beretta 21 at 10 feet I had a lot of keyhole's on paper. On spinners it would be a solid hit but not spin the target at 25 yards shooting through a CZ 452. I also like this round but have never gotten around to chronograph it. I had a hard time keeping it zeroed beyond 50 yards on paper. I have always used it for close in work with a rifle. I feel you would need a dedicated rifle for this round. I know it is due to the twist rate of the .22. My friend has a 1/9 twist barrel on a 10/22 and it works out on 1" at 50 yards and past that he still experianced the same issue. I do carry it in a NAA mini revolver and it tumble like crazy out of a 1 and 5/8's barrel at 7 yards. I look forward to your report.
  24. I have owned two. A 5"and a Compact 3". I kept them both less than a year. I had nothing but problems with mine. They have spotty customer service to me also. This was several years ago. I won't even consider one unless for resale. Now on that rant I have friends that swear by them.
  25. A good book to read is the ABC's of Reloading. I is available in PDF. The newer edition you have to pay for.
