I'm going to be picking it up. I have battlefield 3 and I love it, but in my opinion, Call of Duty has a way better campaign to it. So, I always keep battlefield for my online fix and cod for my story mode. I have to ask, how do you have it already? I have it preordered and mine is only due to arrive one day before release. Yea I'm not really intending on using it as a range gun, I enjoy shooting my c9 and model b for that. I just want something that is easily concealable. I've also been looking into a Ruger lCP, but I'm just not so sure about that .380 caliber.

    Kel-Tec PF9

So, after getting into the handgun game, I've bought a Hi Point c9 and a Star Model B. However, this weekend I'm going for my ccw and I think it's time for me to look at a pistol I can carry with me and will be quite comfortable. And for that purpose, I think I've chosen the Keltec PF9. Just had a few questions, 1. About how much do they run NIB at shops? 2. Are they picky about ammo? And what i mean, does it have to be brass casings, like my c9, or can I throw some steel casing in there too? 3. I've noticed this gun does not have a safety, is the trigger pull pretty hefty as so that is not a problem? and finally, 4. Is this gun able to hold a lazer sight?
  5. Yea I think it was an old page, google linked me to it. I'm pretty sure it's a first gen model b which I'm assuming is just 9mm luger? If not how hard is largo to find? One thing I just realized, is this not the gun that samuel l jackson carried in pulp fiction? Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  6. Yea, think I'm going to pick her up. I've been looking around at prices, and aim surplus sells this pistol for $379.99, so $250 otd seems very reasonable. I wonder where I might find extra mags for it though
  7. Was in my local pawn shop today browsing and I noticed a 1911 in the display. Looked a bit closer, it is a Star Firearms Model B 9mm dated 1935. Was soooo tempted to gob it up, as it was in pretty dang good condition, and I've been dying for a 1911 platform pistol, but I don't know anything about that company. Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they good reliable handguns? He told me I could get it for $250 out the door, is that reasonable?(Which for a 1911 I would say so!)
  8. Does anyone know of any shops in east tn that carry these? The other day I picked up a mosin 91/30 and now I would like to add to the nagant family Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  9. Anyone know of any pawn shops or gun shops around the Chattanooga or Knoxville area with Mosin Nagants? Been looking for one, but the only few I've found have extreme cosmoline on them and are in generally pretty rough condition. Looking for either a 91/30 or a m44.
  10. I've always had pretty good experiences in the Dayton Walmart. Best prices on ammo around, and last may I purchased my Savage Edge .308 there. Cheapest price anywhere on it, and was out of there in under 30 minutes...of course as with any store...YMMV Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  11. My recent experience was right the opposite on my last visit. Soon as me and my wife walked in we were greeted and the guy at the counter asked if there was something in particular I was looking for...told him what I wanted and he got it right out. They even let me see a few while waiting on the background check. Your results vary I guess, but I dont really see your age having anything to do with it, as I am only 24 Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  12. I recently just picked up a new c9 for my first pistol and I love it...sure I wouldn't want to carry it but it really is a great gun. Had mine for little over a week and put about 500 rounds through it and not a single FTF or FTE Well worth a bill Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  13. Wow...just watched a video on that mag loader...had to order one I've got a couple more magazines coming and was dreading keeping them all loaded at the range lol thanks for that and my thumb thanks you too Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
  14. Took the new Hi Point to Spring Creek yesterday, other then a blister on my thumb from loading the magazine over and over(that spring is pretty stiff!) the pistol shot flawless. Put around 150 rounds through it and not a single FTE or FTF. I was very impressed with how it shot. The sights were a little low, so I just aimed a little high at the range and when I got home I adjusted them. Overall, very impressed with the gun, and for the price, can't be beat. I was also surprised at the low recoil.
  15. Ah, I may take it to Frontier, I think they have a gunsmith...see what they can do with it EDIT: Actually, after looking it seems you can find them for under $100, so I may just find another one for him.
  16. My father-in-law has a Raven .25 acp semi-auto pistol. Yesterday, we went to the gun range and he, my wife and mother-in-law were having fun plinking while I was over on the rifle range. I heard about 6 rounds go off then they told me they couldn't get it to fire. When I went over to check, the gun is chambering the round correctly but when you pull the trigger nothing happens. You can hear a slight click but that is it. Nothing will happen, and the slide doesn't open either(which I'm assuming this is a blowback pistol). Manually pulling the slide will eject the round without problem so it seems that something has went wrong with the firing pin? I don't know much about guns, and was curious if anyone had a similar problem or even might know what to do to fix it.
  17. Didn't see a thread,at least recently in the last 4 months so pardon me if there actually is one, but thought it would be fun to see everyone's zombie survival gear. This is what I call the "Poor Man's Survival Gear" Nothing spectacular at all, but at least I can take some Zombie's down before they get me.
  18. Well, sadly there was an error with my order on the p11. I received an email saying it had shipped, but later on that day I got an apology letter from the dealer saying there was a mixup with inventory and he actually didn't have anymore of the P11's right now, so he offered a full refund. However, today I made my way up to Frontier Firearms in Kingston and went ahead and purchased the Hi Point C9. Walked out the door with the pistol and a box of 9mm ammo for $189, not bad! The employees at Frontier are super nice, and they have some cats which roam the store which my wife loved. While waiting for the background check she played with the cats the whole time, lol. Would highly recommend those guys for anything you need. I even picked out my next purchase and my wife found a pink .38 special she liked.
  19. Yea, I fired my friends c9 again today, I've shot about 50 rounds through it the last two days and I actually like it, and hadn't had any problems with it jamming. We've been shooting winchester ammo from Walmart. However, today I purchased a Kel-Tec P-11 9mm online, It shipped today supposed to be at my FFL around Tuesday. I know I probably should have maybe held one first, but I've read some pretty good reviews, and this one has a chrome finish which I really like. Total cost was $319.45 that is including shipping and ffl fee's.
  20. I got natural leader...not so sure if I agree with that. Hate to say it, but if my family is in danger...sure I'll risk my life without thought to protect them, but risking my life to save people I don't know against a walking undead corpse... Well, they've got to eat someone and I don't plan on being a sandwich
  21. I've actually got plans to hit Shooters depot this weekend to see that they have...I'm also making plans Friday to go to Frontier Firearms in Roan to use their indoor pistol range, as they have handguns for rent. Going to rent a few and try them out. I ended up buying the little .25 today because $75 was hard to pass up, and from what I've read they don't make this model anymore. As many have stated it is quite hard to aim with it being so small, but I unloaded about 4 mags and had a blast. I was also able to shoot my friends Hi Point today and also enjoyed it quite a bit. The 9mm's recoil isn't bad at all. The guy with the Taurus 380 is going with me to Frontier and I'm gonna shoot it to see how I like it. I'm just gonna try as many as I can to really see what I like. Hopefully, Frontier doesn't have something amazing that I just can't leave without having...the wife might be upset if I drop $900 on a S&W or Colt =/
  22. I'm going to seriously take getting a .22 in consideration. I've got probably, 900 rounds of .22 ammo sitting in my closet from my .22 rifle. Someone just told me they have a bernardelli .25 caliber pistol for sale and it shoots .22 ammo. Their wanting $75 for it, it's a very small gun but for that price even if I end up getting a larger caliber I may have to go ahead and add it to my collection. But, does anyone know anything about them? Don't really want to get something that is going to blow my finger off. Redirect Notice this pistol in the picture is exactly like his
  23. The thing about getting the best I can afford, right now I'm looking for a pistol that I can just have fun with, learn to use to get the hang of my stance, grip and aim, and something that if it gets beat up a bit, it doesn't matter. Keep in mind, the handgun I purchase isn't going to be my permanent pistol and definitely won't be the handgun that I conceal and carry and all around put my personal defense in its' reliability. For that, as I said I'm going to be going for a S&W, or maybe even a Kimber. I like the Hi Point because it's rugged, and from a lot of stuff I've read and videos I've seen, can take a beating, shoots about any ammo thrown into it and is decently accurate. I thank everyone for their suggestions though, I've also just learned that a old buddy of mine is wanting to sell a near brand new Taurus 380 for $275...is that a good deal on it? Are they decent handguns?
  24. Yea, I actually probably would take the HCP eventually with it, however as you said, I will mostly be keeping it in the glove box in my truck. For one to actually conceal, well...I would find a Smith and Wesson to carry. For some reason, I've always wanted one, not even a Beretta or Colt would change my mind. I think it has something to do with the fact, when I was younger I was with a family member in Memphis, someone actually tried to rob him walking down the street in broad daylight, he had a concealed S&W and used the all to famous catch phrase..."That will be a bad idea man, I've got two friends here...a Mr Smith and a Mr Wesson" needless to say my uncle was now my hero and I've wanted one ever since lol...sad but true Too Jimmy Mac: Right now, more along the lines of range and just learning to shoot a handgun in general...I've shot them before but not enough to be comfortable in defending my or someone else's life. Once I get the hang of it I will purchase a better more durable/dependable weapon.
  25. I've always had rifles and shotguns, but now I feel it's time to expand my knowledge and collection. I'm wanting to purchase a good cheap handgun(I know those 3 words don't belong in the same sentence) just to learn with, possibly get my permit with and just all around a good plinker toy. Someone at work suggested a Hi Point C9 and I've been looking through reviews and such and it seems a decent weapon, or decent enough at least. So, on to my few questions, firstly does anyone know which weapon shops around the Chattanooga/Knoxville area that sell these NIB around a decent price? Secondly, I don't know much about the laws regarding handguns, I know for a rifle/shotgun it is legal to carry provided it is unloaded and the ammo isn't readily accessible, but for a handgun...say I'm going to the shooting range, as long as the weapon is unloaded, ammo stored safely away from the weapon should I get pulled over, would I be ok or do you still need the handgun permit for that? Also, if you know any pawn shops/gun stores that have other pistols at a decent price, feel free to recommend them, I am simply aiming towards Hi Point because it is near my price range. (Preferring something under $300)
