  1. The stores in our area have a 3 box/any caliber limit. The 24 hour employee purchase policy only applies to items that are on sale/marked down. Doesn't apply to regular priced merchandise.
  2. The FBI has studied police involved shootings for many years. Their studies show that 80% of shootouts occur within 7 yards and are over in 3 seconds or less. They are not drawn out firefights like the North Hollywood shoot out. You can carry as many mags and rounds as you want but odds are you ain't gonna get off more than a few shots.
  3.   "Better" is a very broad and subjective term. I carried a Glock on duty for a long time, but I'd have no hesitation carrying my 1911.
  4. That's awesome! Maybe we can convince them to have part of their operation here in TN.
  5. Hey, I'd be glad to buy Randel a beer or coffee or whatever (so long as I don't buy it at Walmart).
  6. Don't suppose you are. I just don't care for people that stick to their ideals only until it suits them otherwise....
  7. The difference is that the ammo cans should have had a plastic tie keeping the can closed and the boxes inside are probably not marked for individual sale.
  8. You hate Walmart and go out of your way to shun them, BUT you just happened to be in there buying 8 or 900 rounds of ammo? A repeat customer at that! Do you also tell everyone you are a Republican, right up till you enter the voting booth?
  9. Shooting a well made 1911 is like driving a Ferrari while shooting anything else is like driving a Buick Roadmaster. If you do buy a 1911 don't waste your money on a Kimber. Also, I'm a purist at heart and don't care much for the Sig with its external extractor. YMMV
  10. I don't consider it maintenance. It's more of a bonding experience.
  11. I've carried a Glock for a long time and it's a tough pistol that I know will go bang when I need it. Having said that, the Glock doesn't get my juices flowing like they do when I shoot my Wilson.
  12. It's your own fault for standing there. Every case has BIG BLACK LETTERS on each side that say shot shells. Did the one case say Remington Small Arms Cartridges or "Remington Small Arms Company"? I bet it was "Company".....
  13. I thought Casino Royale was the best of the 3. I wonder if its because that one was loosely based on a story line written by Ian Fleming while the other two were written by people who thought they knew who Bond "should" be.
  14. I've been watching it, and like you guys I love it. When I was a LEO back in Florida my agency would sometimes use the AF-SOC small arms range at Hurlburt Field for our qualifications. I met a few PJ's there and they always had a professional bearing. I'm glad we have SOF units, including PJ's, out there taking care of business!
  15. Thanks for the replies. I'll try checking it with a level as soon as I get home.
  16. I'm finally completing my AR build after gathering the parts for over a year. I'm using a Noveske upper/lower set, some Daniel Defense parts, and Magpul stock. I have two questions: First, what grease are you guys using for the barrel nut? I know that Mil-spec is Moly Disulfide and it should contain no graphite. I'm trying to find something local and don't want to buy a gigantic tube or tub. Second, the receiver extension seems to have and upward angle when in place. It's lower at the receiver than it is at the end. It does screw in freely and the threads are not crossed. Is this normal? Could the threads be cut in the receiver at an angle? Should I contact Noveske?
  17. I picked up 10 boxes of that American Eagle at Walmart for $8.87 a box.
  18. The Walmart in Collierville got in 2 cases of 100 round packs Federal .223 and several cases of Tula .223 tonight. They should bring it out at 7 AM tomorrow so be there if you want some. They do have a 3 box limit per customer.
  19. "Resident Logan Hennecke tells the station that he thinks it's "a very smart choice" for parents and schools to know which students have access to firearms...."   Its none of their damn business! That's labeling a child and is no different than if we segregated children that have a parent that is HIV positive or is schizophrenic.
  20. Chewbacca's favorite snack was bananas. I bet when I get to the Pearly Gates he will meet me there dragging a bunch of bananas. I just hope he has some peanut butter to go with them!
  21. Of course that is not Wal-Mart's corporate policy to limit numbers. I guess some markets are making that decision on their own.
  22. Thanks everyone! It's been rough on us but I know he is in a much better place.
