1. Nice! Of course you'll probably have no other presents under the tree this year. Be sure to give us a range report soon.
2. There'd definitely be a call to S&W first thing Monday AM. I have one in .40 but for those with them in 9mm, did the recoil spring seem to be really tight the first time you pulled the slide back?
3. For whatever reason he is thinking about getting a FL CWP and using it to carry in TN as a TN resident (something that sounds fishy and sends up red flags to me). The bottom line is if he is in TN then he should follow TN law, if in FL he needs to follow theirs. Really, he needs to get his TN HCP if he lives here.
4. Sorry we didn't get to meet! I hate crowds too. My wife took me because if she didn't she would have to put up with this all weekend: Hope you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving! Maybe we will get to formally meet one day. I'm thinking about going to Classic Arms and sitting on their park bench with a sign that says "I'm on TGO".....
5. I haven't used them or know of anyone that has. I've been to their website and I know he use to post on TGO. I was thinking about using Alternative Coatings. Let me know if you find anyone that have used the guy in Marion.
6. I might have to go over to Jackson and try Range USA. The location here only allows .223 frangible. Thanks for the info!
7. Florida DOES not have a HCP. They issue a CWP- concealed weapons permit. I only mention it for two reasons: first, it's a matter of semantics and a pet peeve of mine. I'm a native Floridian and was a LEO down there for a long time. It drove me crazy to hear people say, "I was robbed" when in fact their house was in fact broken into and therefore a burglary. Second, you need to understand the differences in TN permit and FL's. Once you know the difference you will understand that you follow FL's statutes when you are there.
8. I believe the form must be submitted on one page, printed front & back.
9. I've been thinking about sending mine out for Cerakote on the frame.
10. Very nice! I like the FDE on these pistols.
11. I'm afraid I won't be able to find a place to shoot it. Can't afford Mid-South Shooting right now....
12. I recently contacted them about getting a couple new firearms to add to my collection- one of those being my first AK variant rifle. I've recently had both knees replaced and it has been hard getting out of my house. Today I got up enough strength to get out and head to Classic Arms, but had to have my wife drive. Once there I met TGO member ParaTac (use to be halfpint) and the store owner Jay Hill. They made me and my along, along with our youngest daughter, feel welcome and helped me right away. A few minutes later I was leaving with a new handgun and an Arsenal SAM7SF-84 on order! I pumped to say the least. Thanks Chance for your help!
13. I went in today and met up with Chance. I came away with a new Gen 4 Glock 19 and an Arsenal SAM7SF-84 on order! Chance is a great guy and took care of me right away!
14. Oh, I believe you. As a former gov't LEO agent (state) myself and having worked for an agency with industry regulation authority, I think BATFE would be hard pressed if they pigeon hole apps submitted with a trust pending a change in law or administrative procedure. 15. If BATFE is not processing trust applications then why did they start an electronic filing system for those using a trust? http://www.hammerheadweapons.com/shorter-waits-with-nfa-trusts_a/260.htm Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
16. Welcome Mike! Look forward to reading your posts and hopefully learning from some of your experiences. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
17.
Been to Toko-Ri, out back gate of Camp Casey, almost until the day I left had no idea Casey was named after a Pilot shot down during the Battle. In the movie they use jets, there were no jets at that battle, Sky Raiders and Corsairs, Casey was in an observation plane calling in Artillery, shot down and crashed into Soyu mountain behind Camp Casey.
Thanks for sharing that! I knew it was Corsairs (my absolute favorite) but I didn't know about the Sky Raiders. We use to live near Pensacola, FL, and we would go to the Naval Air Museum and spend the day walking around. On one of the tours the guide told us that the Sky Raider has the same bomb load capacity as the old B-17. Pretty impressive.
18. The sequel to Mr. Roberts was Ensign Pulver. Very funny movie that a lot of people haven't seen.
19. "Flying Leathernecks" with John Wayne and "The Bridges of Toko Ri" with William Holden. All Quiet on the Western Front wasn't too bad....
20. The Sands of Iwo Jima is one that I can watch over & over. I never could figure out why they didn't protect Sgt. Stryker better because you know that once the Japanese figured out he was actually John Wayne they'd try to take him out.... I also enjoyed the HBO mini series The Pacific.
21. Welcome back! You guys are my favorite gun shop.
22. No collector interest whether it's 001 of 005 or 001 of 999.
23. Guess your right on the price. I must have told the wife they were $30.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
24. I've ordered all of mine thru Red State Tactical. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
