  1. I saw a video of a torture test on one of these on Youtube. It held up very well until they blew it up on purpose. Also, Nutnfancy had something on it and he spoke pretty highly about it being good, considering it wasn't intended to be anything more than a down and dirty reliable gun. Made me want one just to have around.
  2. Those are some nice boots. Good find!
  3. Openly, as in down the street, will probably get unwanted law enforcement attention.
  4. The upper is a Doublestar and it appears to have M4 feedramps. I read up on the barrel twist, but it seems counter intuitive from what I've read about the 5.56 twist. With that, a 1:7 twist was recommended to stabilize the higher weight bullet. Am I understanding that wrong? The magazines are PRI, which seems to be the next best thing to Barrett as far I as have read. They just seem too hard to load. In a combat situation, struggling with my mags to reload does not appear to be the ideal situation, to make an understatement. Thank you for the offer to use the reamer. I think I'll be better to wait until you are back in action to help. You are the expert here (it's in you name), so I would take you up on your offer to help. :0)
  5. That is so awesome! I want to ride that thing so bad!
  6. If you could roast zombies to Darth Vader's theme, THAT would be awesome!
  7. Well, I did some trading and finally ended up with a 6.8SPC with a 1:10 twist. I've done some searching and reading and it looks like I need to have the chamber bored to SPC II specs. I don't know if it is already done, how would I check? Also, I've ran into trouble loading the mags. I have six, and all six seem to jam the rounds up while loading. The tip of the ammunition keeps binding on the lip of the mag. I have tried going slow and tapping the mag back after each round, but a new round inserted seems to offset the round underneath and push it forward. Additionally, the rounds seem especially hard to insert. Nothing at all like 5.56. I disassembled and oiled the mags inside and out and then wiped them down. This may have helped a little, but is this normal? I'm really excited about this new rifle, and look forward to getting to know its capabilities. Thanks!
  8. Hopefully people will see this is the result of stupid. Unfortunately, they will more likely focus on the fact that she had a gun.
  9. Keep raising her right! Good job!
  10. Welcome! My wife has a Sig P238 "Lady" edition and she loves it. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p238-lady.aspx
  11. For me, the biggest concern is the very large debt load that we have. There are many facets to my fear of collapse, but that is the biggest. As anyone who has ran a business or even a family budget knows, eventually you have to pay the piper.
  12. I don't think we are divided on this one. I'm with you.
  13. What I want to know is, when are we going to start regulating cars? 691 fatalities the last time I drove past an TDOT information sign. I mean, come on. :0) Sorry to hijack your thread. Just saw the TN numbers and this came to mind.
  14. Plus you get that instant satisfaction of walking out with your new purchase right then. Additionally you get the opportunity to handle the weapon and inspect it prior to purchase. @$150 difference, you can come out ahead online, but below $75, the gun store is better in my opinion.
  15. I try to haggle the price down with most firearm purchases from stores. Doesn't always work, but I usually at least get a $30 box of rounds tossed in the deal.
  16. That was painful to watch.
  17. The Arizona permit looked better... until I read the info from Chucktshoes. My wife went through the eight hour course but failed to go by and get her permit. She misplaced her paperwork and found it two days after it expired. She now has to pay another $100 and sit through another all day course. I thought maybe she could find a shortcut, but I guess not.
  18. Makes me sad for the poor little feller. Not really.
  19. That really is a scary aspect to think about. Is there a shelf stable insulin with a long expiration date?
  20. Very nice. Kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum from what you set out for.
  21. I believe you are right. Can't think of a good "sheeple" comment, but stupid sheeple. :0)
  22. I have now, thanks!
  23. Yes. That is on the low end weight-wise, but it is still going fast and is delivering good energy into a target. I prefer a heavier round, but that comes with a trade off in heavier recoil. I'm far from an expert, but this is my experience. Bottom line is, you smack someone with a .45, they will know it.
  24. It's not better, it's different. It is smaller and more concealable.
  25. I had a really good experience with Kahr. I had a problem, they took care of it exceptionally well, no questions asked. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one again if the need arose.
