1. Well, I've had a Mosin for a couple of years that I've flirted with modernizing a bit. I talked to a gunsmith buddy of mine who offered to help me out, so i said yes. I started out with a really nice 1891/30 manufactured in 1943 at Izhevsk, Russia. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it originally. Here are a few picks of the project. He cut four inches off of the barrel. Here's the cut. Then the recrown. Here it is complete with the scope mounted and the angled bolt installed. And finally... drum roll... three rounds at 100 yards with surplus military ammo. Close up. The left hole had two rounds through it. This turned out way better than I expected. The crown job was superb! My buddy really did a fantastic job. I'll get more pictures up after I pick it up on Sunday. Let me know what you think!
2. I'd have a complete BCG including firing pin ready to go. I've really only seen two hard failures. One was a misaligned gas block that caused the gun to not cycle. The other was a broken firing pin retaining pin that got stuck and the guy couldn't get the BCG out while in the field.
3. Seems like this is a job for the complex management. They should distribute a letter to the residence regarding parking in front of the garages, and warn about towing. They shouldn't put the responsibility on you. They should call the tow company if the behavior continues.

6.
Overclocking is nice, but underclocking and undervolting is awesome for battery life. Yeah, since it works off of your data connection. You could use it with 1x/1g/edge whatever, but it'd be really slow! Rooting: Obtaining root ("administrator", or "full") access to the device. This means you can mount its internal memory partition as read/write, which lets you do various things: have USB or Wi-Fi tethering, uninstall applications you otherwise can't uninstall (e.g. the Amazon MP3 store), install applications that need root access, disable the camera shutter sound (simply by deleting the shutter sound file), overclock or underclock the CPU, install and boot Debian, and so on. English enough? I think you want this one as a general location, and this is an equivelant to what was posted earlier; piecedan's xda link is the the Epic 4G which is this and not Epic 4g Touch. qbking77's videos are awesome, they should be able to get you there. Make sure I'm talking about your phone, because I'm not familiar with either of these phones. Also CM9 and CM10 look like they are in beta for your phone, so you might look at other roms; or at least read a lot on the betas first. XDA is full of elitist nerds who take the terms "noob" and "senior member" a little too seriously, so make sure you read / search as much as you can. Your question has probably already been answered multiple times. The Epic 4G Touchwelcome post has some good info for you to start too. Here is the CyanogenMod Wiki for common terminology you'll see, so that might help. Read everything multiple times...it's really easy to do all of this if you can follow directions, but it's even easier to mess up if you don't. piercedan, I'm not trying to step on your toes; just help too
I appreciate the help!
7.
I spent a couple of hours last night watching many of the video in the link you posted. Being a little nervous, I would feel more comfortable if I could find something with a list of procedures, start to finish. I wasn't able to figure out what the first step is that I need to take. You mentioned backing up using Titanium. Is that the first thing I need to do in the entire process? Is Titanium an app or some kind of program?
Yes, Titanium is an app that will let you back up your programs and user data for easy restore. You can download it now, but for it to work correctly you have to have root access to the phone. You need to run ODIN and install ClockworkMod and possibly something else to get root.
8.
I'm running AOCP on my S3 and it is my favorite so far. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
The S3 is such an awesome phone. Screaming fast and beautiful screen.
9. Well TripleDigitRide, I found lots of info, and it looks like you could be successful at rooting and ROMing, but I didn't find it laid out quite as well as the Skyrocket. The problem is that you are running an S2 variant that is slightly different that the standard S2 that was released. Your model number is SPH-D710 and the standard is i9100. It looks like the process is the same as mine, but you'd need to figure out what ROM and radio files are compatible with your phone. If it was mine, I'd jump right in, but not being mine, I'll recommend caution. **My suggestion is to become a member of XDA-developers.com and spend a couple of days reading through some posts gathering information. Then I would post up a noob question about ROMing your specific model and I'm sure you will get the answers. I was pretty apprehensive about it until I actually did it, then it was a piece of cake. The longest part was backing up, and Titanium Backup made that simple. If you decide to jump off into it, I'd be happy to help as much as I can, just let me know!
10.
For someone who's never done anything like this, all those links are a little confusing. Where does one start?
Let me do some reading to get a better understanding of your phone. Mine was laid out a little more clearly. Here is the link to my phone's page. The first two stickies gave me all of the information I needed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1383 I'll post my findings probably tomorrow afternoon.
11. Well, no stampede that I heard of, but I found an interesting video of some ALMOST success! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4oV5bPeMLI
12. Actually, more specifically, try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009997

14.
Anyone who has experience with a Sprint Galaxy S2 have something they'd like to recommend? Maybe something with step-by-step directions that even I can understand? How long does it take?
Is it also known as the Epic Touch?
15.
I have an S3 with Verizon and still waiting on Jelly Bean. It's a company owned device managed by a mobile device management system and will show as compromised if I use a custom ROM and loaded Jelly Bean. ugh.
That sucks. The S3 is a pretty sweet phone even with Ice Cream Sandwich.
16.
I've done a very small amount of reading about rooting and ROM's, but it's a little confusing, and I'm afraid I'll screw up my phone.
I was pretty nervous too. I finally made the jump to solve problems, and am glad I did. It was a little intimidating, but pretty easy once I started the process.
17. Is it a tight group even though it's high? Maybe a bad crown? Maybe try to bore sight it and see where it lines up with the sights.
18. Can't find the Blu Kuban.
19. I've had the phone since December of last year. I had it rooted for Titanium backup, but never jumped into a new ROM because of a fear of loosing purchased apps. I was nervous for no reason. Google Play reinstalled most of them automatically. I only had a few that I had to restore from Titanium. So far it's rock solid.
20. Welcome!
21. Welcome!
22. That is awesome!
23.
Yes and its so much better than what comes on phones Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
I agree, just too much bloat on the stock ROM. You have S3, did you move to Jelly Bean?
24.
I tried out a good number of custom rom's on my original motorola droid, but haven't messed with my newer phones beyond just rooting them. I have a RAZR now and just don't have any real reason or benefit to flash to a custom rom. The amount I use my phone it would be more for fun than from a practical standpoint.
Yours has ICS native right?
25. Yea, and evidently I can't spell custom.
