  1. I suspect I am like a lot of people, really busy with work and personal life.  I try to pay attention to the political world and on occasion find issues that sound a chord with me so I get involved.  This current gun rights issue being the immediate struggle.  We may win this battle, but more likely, we will lose some ground.  These politicians will take more from us, one more piece of freedom.  I can't estimate how big or small the loss, but a loss non the less.  And here we sit, powerless to the onslaught.  Sure we can write our representatives, but that assumes they actually represent us.  Yes we can assemble peacefully and show our solidarity with each other while standing up for our constitutional rights, and we should.  I will be there Saturday.  My representatives have been written.  They know my thoughts.  But honestly, really, do they ultimately care?  And if they do, do they even have the ability to do anything about it?  Where have all the good guys gone?   I saw the news reports on Fast and Furious, or what little their was.  It infuriated me to know that there are corrupt and evil men, who would blatantly sacrifice lives to meet their ideological ends, sitting in their ivory tower, making these decisions with impunity.  Where is the political outrage?  Why aren't we putting these people in jail?  How is it that we have representatives who are not standing in Congress united together in demanding accountability and justice?  I bring this up, because if there is any issue that demanded accountability, that was it.   Constantly, some new atrocity is revealed.  Some apparent incompetence or outright malicious act is discovered and then neatly swept away with no repercussions.  Accountability is not to be had.  We are just along for the ride.  We are ultimately powerless.  I've heard it said, don't hasten the day, and I don't.  But... maybe it has to come crashing down before we Americans cast off this yoke of oppression and corruption.    Sorry to be all gloomy.  I guess I watched the wrong video this morning.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFIpoL3jrfo
  2. Welcome!
  3.   Do I have to shave my chest, or are you okay with hair?
  4. He must have been a great guy.  Don't know anything about him, but now I want one of his rifles.
  5. Welcome!
  6. Ditto what QuietDan said.
  7. Sorry, I +1ed for the comedic value, not the post count.  Just palling around with some friends.
  8.     I came late to the party on this one, but you Sir, owe me a new keyboard.  Mine now is covered with tea and spit.
  9. +1
  10.     I thought they kept unicorns.  ;)
  11. Bill Whittle is the man.  No really.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWiE_EzbAyo
  12. Great idea until the government propaganda machine gets a hold of it and spins them into a group of cultist separatists who must be surrounded and subdued.  Any pocket of patriotic freedom must be stamped out lest it spread amongst the workers and give them the wrong ideas of freedom or any semblance of hope.  Nope, keep working citizen.  You have taxes to pay because we have votes to buy with entitlements and hobnobbing to do with other ruling elites.  Back to work, for you are the batteries of our grand kingdom.  Nose to the grind stone, for we have some drones to buy so we can keep an eye on these "Freedom Lovers".   Eh, maybe I'm just in a mood.
  13. Those don't come around very often.  My brother in law has one and it is a blast (literally) to shoot.  The shorter barrel makes it report like a cannon, and the fireball at night is enormous!  Very fun to shoot.
  14.   No, really I'm just speculating.  I wasn't paying attention in 08, as I wasn't really plugged into the shooting community at all back then.  I had a couple of guns, but that was it.  I was in a different place in my life.  I remember hearing some of the news reports, but it seems that this time around the frenzy is more pronounced.
  15.   I've had one of those red dots for a couple of years and it is still going strong.
  16. Not worried.  I'm kind of excited for the flood of AR's to hit the market once this craze is over and people start fire selling them because they spent money they didn't have to buy something that didn't go up exponentially in value.  At least I hope I am correct.
  17. I refuse to go to a gun show right now.  $10 at the door just to get gouged?  No thank you.  The only way I would go is if I was selling something, but I'm not.  Got what I need, everything else can wait until this mess dies down.
  18. Oh snap!
  19. I know, right?  I'm going to add it to my signature!  Then I'll have some cred.  :D
  20. I registered.
