Official TGO LG101 Pro Tech Buy in thread ORDERS NOW CLOSED
DJTC45 replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Put me down for one. PM sent with address and I'll need yours to send you a USPS MoneyOrder. Thanks for putting this together. -
Well your friend did the right thing by trading his Kimber for a Colt.If you ever get down my way shoot me a PM and we can meet at one of the indoor ranges and I'll bring the ammo and the 1911's I own and you can shoot any of them you want to. I apologize if I said anything out of the way but I've owned just about everything from Glocks to H&K's and sold everyone of them because I just prefer the 1911 platform, it works for me but might not work for others.

Your colt wouldn't stand a chance against any of the ones I have.
-
I have six 1911's and they all function perfectly right out of the box, but they would all put a Colt to shame, as far as them needing any "tinkering" some people just can't leave things alone and start swapping parts before they know what the problem is. A good bit of FTF's are due to poor Mags. and weak Recoil Springs, along with not taking a firm grip. I carry a 1911 daily as my personal protection weapon I won't carry anything else, but that's just me.

TN Bill to remove restrictions on knife possession and carry

It's about time, as a concealed carry permit holder and knife guy I'm glad this has happened, and Sherry Jones is just unbelievable how in the hell did she ever get elected. -
robotic target for multiple scenarios and movement
DJTC45 replied to Dustbuster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Yea and when your "buddies" show up with their AR's and shoot holes in your steel, well........... -
Where are they at in Franklin, I just seen one on Gun Broker yesterday. What was the price.
-
This is for sure, especially concerning engraving because the firearm will need to be refinished if blued and the cost for all you describe will be $1000+. I've sent two 1911 over the years to have some basic work and cosmetic features done and both were $1500 for those on top of the price I paid for them. I would contact colt and let them do all the work that way it will be documented and will help you sell it down the road if you want. I'll add one more smith to the above post Alchemy Custom Weapons, check out his face book page link on his web site, he is who I use for all my 1911's.

No problem and if you ever get towards my area PM me and let me know, and if you want we could meet at one of the ranges and you can try out one of my 1911's( I've got six so far, Wilson, NightHawk,Les Baer TRS, Guncrafters GI Frag....) you can shoot any of them you like.
-
your correct the "person" makes it safe. I was referring to carrying purpose example if you own other types of auto pistols(Glock, H&K, S&W ect....) they all have other types of safety features that are different from one another that's what I meant about "discipline" that's why I only own or carry a 1911's, I sold all my other types of handguns and dedicated my carry weapon to the 1911 platform. I believe for me it works just practicing with one type of weapon for my self-defense practice and carry( I don't want to be in a situation under stress and find out I forgot to flip the thumb-safety off the 1911 when I'm used to just pulling a Glock ) I hope I didn't offend you by what I posted earlier.

problem with a remington 700 Sa 308
DJTC45 replied to Ron Padilla's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
get some different quality ammo and try that. -
Has she ever fired a 1911 style handgun and a 45.? they are good guns just make sure you train with it they do take a little more discipline to handle safely, I'm just saying not trying to start anything, that should be a fine gun for her.

Get a Colt and forget the Glock's, M&P'S ect.........

Looks good SmokeyBaer, can't wait to see the finished product. -
Sorry, but why would you want or need that on a 1911? that's just ridiculous looking.
-
Is the second pic. a used gun, it looks like someone may have changed it out but I'm really not sure. I haven't seen a Grip Safety shaped liked that, sure looks like some shoddy work. I would look at some other brands in the same price range, I would get a Springfield Range Officer or a Springfield Loaded, to me they are better built than the S&W, besides the E-Series was built to compete with some other High end 1911's but I feel they fall short. Look at D&W also not bad, and price is right close to the S&W E-series. Are you set on the Bob Tail?
-
That's not a bad grouping from that small of a gun, and like you said it's not a "Target" gun but it can be a life saver up and close.
-
Sorry but Cabot Guns are not all that, probably the most overpriced 1911 out there they've been known to use the "Kimber" plastic MSH. on their $5000+ guns.
-
I wonder what effects it might have on a handguns rifling after a few thousand rnds. but you probably couldn't afford to shoot that many. I would like to get some .45 and give it a try.
-
I'll probably pick up one of their shot guns, and I'm glad they chose TN. to build their factory we could use some more gun manufactures to move here.
