I'm getting ready to get some Kennedys and Ben Franklin Half Dollars next. I'm going to try to buy 10-20oz a month from here on out, I'll try to get a few Gold ones every now and then.
-
Here's some I got in last week. Some new Silver Eagles, Morgans, Peace Dollars, and some Walking Liberty's. I'm just getting started on my collection.

I apologize if I came off like I was mad, I understand that it is better to have the Red Dot mounted on the Slide. I just traded for one of the new Staccato P DPO, do you know anything about those. I know they use a Plate from Dawson Precision, do you think that was a good choice, if I can sell my Detonics Combat Master I listed here I might be interested in your Staccato if you want to sell, just let me know sometime. I'll post some pics when I get the DPO in.
-
TGO David, you'll be happy to hear that I removed the Dovetail Mount that made you wince in pain and put the rear sight back on. I just ordered a Staccato P DPO and should be here in about two weeks then I will mount my HOLOSUN 507c x2 on it. Can't wait to get it and try it out.
-
Like I said, I know the mount I chose was not the IDEAL MOUNT, I didn't want to spend $600 to get my Staccato P 4.14's slide milled and refinished. If I didn't like it I would have a hard time reselling something that had been modified that others might not care for, as far as the sex doll comments, I've got nothing to say about that, if you don't like it that's your opinion(and we all know the saying about opinions). I'm going to try it out and then if I like it I'll have the slide milled, if not I'll sell the HOLOSUN.
-
Here's what I chose to do first before committing to having my slide milled. I installed an EGW NOVACK MOUNT for my Staccato P 4.14, w/ HOLOSUN 507C X2 RED DOT. I know it's not the proper way to mount one but I wanted to try it out first. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but I will soon.

I still believe Kroger's pay them to "scare" people into buying all the bread and milk. I used to live in western PA, when I moved here 27yrs ago I'll never forget the first time it snowed here and we had a pretty good ice storm, well I drove to four different stores just to get a few things and two were closed and the others were out of everything. How many loaves of bread and gallons of milk does one person need, it usually only lasts a couple of days and everything is back to normal.

Sight pusher tool recommendations
DJTC45 replied to lock n' load's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
This is the one I use, but it isn't cheap. You can check them out on YouTube. It's a beast. -
That's a good looking Ruger 1911, is that a 6"Bbl. or is it the angle of your photos. I bet it's a tack driver. Nice score

Rechargeable flashlight battery question??
DJTC45 replied to DaveTN's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Like all batteries even the rechargeable type, and I've got a Fenix with a battery that charges with a USB port, and another Fenix that uses a charger. The one that uses a charger is probably 5yrs old and I recently had to buy one battery for it about 2 months ago. I don't use it as much as the other smaller one so I think that batteries shelf life just ran out. At least that's what I think. -
Haven't put a knife together in a while...
DJTC45 replied to gregintenn's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Until I send you an idea that I came up with, you probably cuss me under your breath, but you've always delivered what I came up with. LOL.... -
And don't loan it out to your nephew anymore, I like and care about my two nephews but I wouldn't loan them a wheel barrow cause they would find some way to tear it up. Just give it a good cleaning like everyone else suggested cause Dillon is backed up.
-
I've installed them in every AR I've owned. I put a Flat Geissele Trigger in my MCX Pistol in 300blk, I like it smooth breaks clean. Check out there videos on install and you should be fine. Post some pics when you get it done.

I'm glad I got stocked up on LG Pistol Primers for my .45, but I need some Small Pistol Primers to reload 9mm, oh well. If they are getting that price I have a gold mine of LG Pistol Primers.

I did the same thing I PMed David cause I couldn't bookmark it. He was nice enough to PM me back and explain it. Thanks David. Oh I put it on a post-a-note but I'll have to write on another so I can find the first one.

My experience is just the opposite, I've shipped through the USPS and really have not had a problem. Now FedEx and UPS that's a different story for me, I'm checking the status of a package through FedEx and it's been sitting in the Nashville hub for three days so far, hopefully it will be here tomorrow but who knows.

Yeah now add sales tax to that $5000+ bid, that's why I closed my Gunbroker acct. I'm not going to pay TN 9.25% on a $1000+ gun that can't be ordered locally through an FFL. and only found on Gunbroker. I've bought a few Les Baer TRS's and two Wilson CQBE's, on there but not now.
-
Mine will probably be like the last one, took 3months to get the first check, oh well.
-
Not sure how that was caused by shooting, but I guess anything is possible. Could have been a flaw in the metal or heat treat process, but I'm not to worried about the one I bought, I'm not going to run 10,000rnds down it anytime soon and I'll definitely won't shoot +P's through it.

Wolf still sells the springs, haven't heard of the breakage part. This one was made in Seattle Washington.

I've been told by other owners that the officer mags will work they just don't fit flush. I've got two original Detonics Mags. and they are hard to find and expensive when you find an orginal. I was also told by another guy that has a few of these and he said the Wilson Sentinel magazine's will work but I don't know, I may try and find one to try out, and probably buy an officer size to try also.

It hasn't been shot much from what I can tell, can't wait to try it out.

I can say this about your knife making skills, in my book your great at it. You made me a few knives over the years and every one of them has been a homerun. The funny part is we've never met personally and you have built everyone of them by way of email and PM's here on this site just by me telling you what I thought and what design I came up with for them you always delivered. I also want to give a shout out to 1911alltheway for making the leather sheathes for them, also just by email and PM's . Keep up the great work and like I said after I get done with this medical issue I have, I want you to at least make me one more.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to try it out. I've heard they were great running guns to have a 3",Bbl. it's not easy to find some of the parts for. I do have a source for recoil springs but orginal Mags. are hard to find and cost as much as my Staccato P 4.14 double stacks or more. I'll post some pics when I get time to go shoot.
