I looked at their site, I don't care for the finger groove style. But thanks for replying, I've searched online but for some reason there aren't a whole lot of choices anymore.
  2. Yeah I thought about that, just wasn't sure he could do that type of work, I'll stop by this week and see about it.
  3. I need a new Bolt for my Remington 700 in 308cal. It had a two piece PP&G Bolt in it, but dumb ass me knocked it off my gun bench and right onto the concrete floor were I didn't have any mats down just incase I did drop something, it hit right on the Handle and broke. I contacted a smith in Cumberland City that said he could do it, but covid hit and I never heard back from him so I could drop it off fir him to do. Is there any good rifle smiths around middle TN. or with in a reasonable driving distance of the Nashville area. Thanks for any information.

Those are nice, well hopefully mine will ship this week or next. Can't wait to get it. I've been looking for some grips where is a good place to find some, I did a search but didn't come up with to many. I checked out Rogers Grips and he has some nice ones on his site. I'll post some pics when it gets here.

Yeah I was searching and found a few but your right they are pricey, almost as much as the Ammo.

Thanks, I believe I got a good deal on it since I've been looking for a 3" Bbl. 29. Gonna order some different wood grips for it once I find a set that I like.

Those Grips are classic compact grips from Eagle Grips, it also comes with the original Pachmayr Grips that it shipped with from the factory. He put the wood grips on to see if they would work. Does anyone know were I could find a set of Craig Spigel Grips for it. Thanks I'll post some more pics and info when it gets here, can't wait I've searched everywhere for one of these and every time I could find one it either sold or was out of my reach on price, but I got a good deal on it and I'm satisfied with what I gave for it.

Just snagged this one off another forum I belong to. It's a 1989 S&W Mod. 29 w/ 3"Bbl. Can't wait to get it in.
  9. Both of those brands are good, not sure of your budget but if it were me and I'll wanted a base gun to do some upgraded customization on I would look at a Springfield Armory GI basic model. Then depending on if you are going to do the work your self then I would send the Slide to Novack for upgrading the sights, then I'd head over to John Harrison website and pick up the rest of the parts you would need to customize it your self. If you are going to make a carry gun I'd change out the GI style safety, GI Beaver Tail for a Modern one, and get a John Harrison colplete Trigger upgrade kit(his is about the best). If your really wanting one of the other two I'm sure that everything I listed could be had at his site, look it up and give him a call and explain to him what you are wanting to do and he'll give you his honest opinion on what mods are best for your budget. Good luck on your search and report back your decision.
  10. The flavor is good, you can control the amount of smoke on my Pellet Grill, I use Oak Pellets and Apple Wood Pellets. They make a few other flavors also. I never could cook on charcoal either I used to much and you could cook for three hours after I got done cooking or I used to little and had to remove the food to add more then wait for it to burn. I never tasted anything other than what I was cooking on my Gas Grill, I wish that the Holland Grill Company wouldn't have went out of business, I'd buy another one of them it been a good USA made Grill that I bought 7yrs. ago. I thought about buying one of the Green Eggs, or Commado Joe's but I couldn't justify the $1000+ price tag for those right now.
  11. It turned out great, took about 7-8hrs. I'm going to have to change my rub recipe this one was just a little to spicy for me this time, my tastes have changed do to my Chemotherapy treatments, so I'm going to have to back off the heat. All I really did was rub some yellow mustard on the brisket then mixed about 1 1/2 table spoon of salt, 4 1/2 table spoon of fresh ground pepper and a touch of dillo seasoning, mixed it together and rubbed it on the brisket then fired up the pellet grill set to the smoke setting for the first hr, then went to 225° for about 3hrs then turned it up a little to about 250° for about 2hrs. till it got to an eternal temperature of 160°-170•. Then I pulled it of and wrapped it in butcher paper and placed it fat side up for about 1.5hrs and just checked for tenderness and when I felt it was good to go I took it off and let it rest wrapped up for about 45minutes, then sliced it up and ate it. Turned out tender with just a little chew to it. This was the first time cooking a Brisket on a pellet grill I've always done it on a gas grill but I'm liking this pellet grill.
  12. I bought this Pellet Grill about a month or so ago. I've only made some Baby Back Ribs, about three racks about 3 weeks ago, and they turned out great fell right off the bone. This will be my first Brisket on it but I have used it for basic stuff like Burger's and Dog's, and it does real well so far. I like to try a charcoal grill like the Big Green Egg, or Commado Joe, but I can't justify the price for one of those just yet.
  13. I decided to throw on a Brisket this morning on my new Pellet Grill. Got everything going around 8am. Now I'm setting back and enjoying the wait.
  14. Got a new EDC knife in the other day. BENCHMADE VECTOR Assisted Opening and Axis Lock. It carries nice in my front pocket, not overly heavy. The Blade Steel is 20CV, the Blade looks to have a unique grind to it about 3/4 of the way up, and it's sharp.
  15. Got a couple of Gepehart Flat Triggers for my Staccato P's and C2 DPO that I'm waitng to come in from where I ordered it from. I fit one of them to my Staccato P DPO, didn't have much trouble at all. Took about 20minutes to get it fit and polish up the bow by hand, put it all back together and it passes all the safety checks.

  16. I've been carrying my Staccato P DPO in a TENICOR AIWB Holster for about 3weeks or so, and it took me a little while to get used to it I put a foam wedge on it, and that helped out greatly.
  17. It used to be you could build one for a decent price, but now a day's I dont know if that's possible. S&W makes one but I'm not sure of what they are going for now. I was at Gun & Leather in Greenbriar last Saturday and was tempted to buy a S&W MP-15 AR they had 5 in 5.56 for $785 but a 1000rnds of ammo is more than the AR, so I passed. I did notice they had a few AR's in 308 but I didn't pay attention to the price but I don't think those were over $2000.
  18. I was fortunate enough to learn after the Sandyhook shooting, I stockpiled up on 45acp. Reloading components, I've amassed 110,000 LG Pistol Primers, 40# of Powder, and 35,000 200grn swc. and probably at least 80,000-100,000 pieces of 45acp Brass, and about 35,000 rnds loaded up, wish I could have foreseen that I just got into the 9mm scene, but never bought any Small Pistol Primers. If they ever come back in-stock I'll be stocking up again.
  19. Is it easy to pick up the dot?, just looks small to me.
  20. A better question is. "Why is all Ammunition expensive." I never thought it would get this bad for prices on ammo. Yesterday I went to a local Gun shop and they had a bunch of AR-15's all reasonably priced at $795 for S&W MP15, almost bought one but stepped back and said to myself buy it but were are you are you going to buy ammo at, hell it costs more than the AR. It just doesn't make sense to me, I know that this Covid-19 pandemic has caused a bunch of shortages in every industry, but maybe it will get back to some type of normalcy, but I don't see supply out way demand anytime soon.
  21. I would just call them out in a post here and let people know. I understand things happen, but if I commit to meeting someone for a purchase or sale if I'm going to be late or if something has come up for some unseen circumstances I'm going to text or call you to tell you what's going on. It seems that lately we've had a few scammers on here and that just ruins it for everyone. Just my opinion but I'd call them out on here to let everyone know to be careful if dealing with any of them.
  22. Every appliance we have are GE, the only problem I ever had was the dishwasher developed a leak, I replaced it with a USA made model GE dishwasher and it's been running for 4yrs now, the stove is GE and I had to buy an element but it's 10yrs, and the Double Door Fridge/w Bottom Freezer is 10yrs old also, and the Upright Freezer in the Garage is 7yrs old, did have to have a new digital read out replaced but is was under warranty and they fixed it with no cost. I guess we've been lucky( now that I just jinxed us) I've been satisfied with them. Just my two cents and experience with GE. Maybe yours was built on a Friday and finished up on Monday.
  23. Whatever, it's obvious his daddy has a record or a detective wouldn't have been involved.
  24. You join a gun forum 13hrs ago, and this is what you post.
  25. I always thought if it ain't broke don't fix it.
