  1. Tee up!! I bet the club won't you play but one hole
  2. that's why I posted the topic..You want one?
  3. The Mosin handguard rings and keeper springs came yesterday. I ordered one set of rings and one set of keepers. A ring set consists of one large ring and one small ring. A keeper set is one for the back ring and one for the front. I got 2 large rings, 2 small rings, 3 rear keepers, and 2 front keepers. $13.50 delivered. I was surprised. I have spare parts. How about that! I recommend http://www.omega-weapons-systems.com/ for Mosin parts. The faux Kursk Bunker gun is complete. It looks terrible, just what I wanted. I don't have a photo program on my MAC so I can't put pix on. Maybe I can convince my wife to do it.
  4. I ordered replacement barrel bands and barrel band keeper springs for the stock I got from John. As soon as they get here I'll be posting pics. Bucnball wants me to do the stock russian red but I like the dirty brown it came with. it is a truly awful looking rifle. That gob of a front sight no longer looks outta place.
  5. I have the infamous bubbaed Mosin. someone cut off the barrel to two inches longer than a M44, and stuck a very ugly aluminum front sight on it. We scoped it. great shooter. I now have an M44 stock that I'm going to fit to it...I think. It's a War Baby stock and really ugly. Should look great!
  6. TY.,,
  7. buddy bought a Norinco early model, way good machine work. not your normal recoil spring, also came bubbaed, with plastic stock. shoots like a dream. 229.51 out the door. actually...might not be Norinco. it's Chinese factory 26 but I don't remember any norinco marks.Oh...saw a chinese paratrooper with real ak mags in a pawnshop in Clinton. 399. plus plus.
  8. Better pics of the sights please, and the barrel markings.
  9. They made two kinds. Stamped (flat steel with some bends) and machined. the machined ones are WONDERFUL!!
  10. The problem I had with a Mosin scope with a see through mount was, it put my head too high. The rifle became very uncomfortable to shoot. I got some lowmounts and it's getting better.
  11. I went to the range and missed this??? What a bummer.

today would have been oh so grand...but I didn't go!
  13. I'll take it. it should look a little odd with the slightly longer barrel.
  14. BTW. My ugly stick...the one with the awful aluminum front sight now had a scope. 2 inches high at 122 yards...round after round after round. it was a 91/30 (we think) but it's pretty much a "Bubbaed" military. It's 2 inches longer than a 44 or a 38 and shoots much better. I'd like to find a free 91/30 stock, cut it down and make it fit. And yes, I can do it.
  15. cost me 25 bucks to get my birth certificate...from Michigan. I have to have it for a passport to get outta here when tshtf. It's the birthers who piss and moan the most. it's just not possible for a black man to be president!
  16. They used scrap from wood shops
  17. This might be the correct place for this but maybe not. This could be a help with the gas problem. The Gengas Page This booklet is from Oak Ridge National Labs. Cars, tractors, trucks running on wood. Germany did it during WW2
  18. M38 in Vonore at Farnsworths
  19. OOOOH....nice rifle! it's a credit to the builder. 'tain't every gun that shoots outta the box!!
  20. I am so pleased you chose to go non traditional. It feels to me like we're bound to follow styles that were designed to fit lesser men. Nice gun. You going to have the box to stand on made from the same wood?
  21. I used a 12g mop with kroil. None of my Mosins stick now. Great guns, but they're getting expensive to shoot...probably cause I shoot more now that they don't stick.
  22. When I got the "stubby" the bore was the black smoothbore hole of Calcutta. Instead of trying to scrub it clean we shot it 5 times. sprayed windex down the bore. took it home and dumped a teapot full of boiling water down it...HOT! barrel. then we cleaned lit like normal. it's got great "huge" lands and groves now.
  23. Stripper clips...I have this nifty scar on the side of my thumb and the stripper clip was from a can of Russian steel 7.62x54r.
  24. I do good work...if I watch youtubge first/
  25. yup...it's out.
