  2. Nope...the State of Hawaii said the NORMAL response was to send a computer generated copy...this time they didn't do that.
  3. I hope they chummed the water first...
  4. I sold it...I'm too old to put it up now...I used to do it in 20 minutes from on the truck to havind the fire inside...in the rain...now it takes me 4 hours on a nice day. If you buy one I'll show you how to put it up.. Moved from Lonsdale to over near the Animal Shelter...dead end street...very quiet...til I moved in.
  5. How about a Chinese M44...made on russian machinery and called the T53

  9. I may have this taken care of...Dixie Gun Works...1.50 each...now I need to find the shotgun...it's "put away" she said
  10. Went to the range today. Took the Mosin, the SKS and the .54 Lyman Great Plains flinter...and a trunk full of cleaning supplies. Discovered that all my shooting pouch shooting stuff was gone. None of my cleaning stuff worked on the .54. so I filled it with windex. Man that stuff works! Let a feller shoot it..."My next gun HAS to be a flinter...I haven't had that much fun shooting in ages." he said. Shot 10 rounds in the SKS...so it wouldn't feel unloved...and 5 from the Mosin...it shoots much better than I see. I get more out of the fellowship than the shooting.
  11. My first wife's parents were from Eastern Kentucky...5 million people...two last names.
  12. pitch that in a bucket of kerosene...add a little oil...stir...let it set for a couple of days. take off the grips first. Ubertis are the very best of the spagetti western guns
  13. nope...I was just saying
  14. Since BP replicas aren't "firearms" could one carry a BP derringer with no permit?
  15. Case in point: It's 3 AM The perp has just smashed the window in my car and is crawling through it with the slidehammer in his hand. He has the intent to pop my lock and steal my car. Bang...he's dead. The slidehammer is sufficent to establish intent. True or False?
  16. I lived in both Wyoming and Montana for long enough that people there said I was a native. You have to have lived through one winter before the locals will even talk to you. My wife and I were shocked when the neighborhood welcomed us the first day of no snow...that's "no snow, not spring...there is no spring...just 3 months of bad skiing" When the state averages 120 FEET of snow a year, no snow is a welcome season. I'm a retired archaeologist. In Montana you can only dig during the "summer". In 1993 it snowed, sleeted, or otherwise sucked for 89 of the 90 day excavation season. Bozeman MT had snow on the 7th of August...by snow I mean 6 or more inches, anything less is flurries. That snow lasted on the ground for 5 days. That year it snowed so bad on the 4th of July weekend we had to get a motel room the entire holiday and I never did get back to Bozeman until the 1st of August. Montana has a COUNTY with 20 people. Wyoming issues car license renewals one month a year. There are no month stickers...just year ones. Rednecks abound! Montana has no concealed permits...you can't carry it under your clothes...right out in the open please. No unmarked policecars either. There's a law in the state constitution that prohibits unmarked cars.
  17. There's nothing quite like a 12 gauge pump to say "Who are you and what are you doing in my yard?"When we lived there, I had my 18 foot Tipi set up in the yard and it was never bothered. Someone broke into the house the day we finished moving out. They stole all the wiring, the cast iron Bathtub, and the airconditioner. A day later the neighborhood kids smashed all the windows except the three I'd replaced with lexan.
  18. My kids were born in Michigan (not my fault...we were visiting) ( he's 45) Kansas (she's 42) Texas (he's 35). When I turned 17 I moved west of the Mississippi and swore I'd never live "east" again. You might think of yourselves as southerners...to me you're Easterners...but you're WAAAAy better than Califoricators.
  19. yup...Halls does, South Knox does too. They all stopped selling fabric...I buy mattress ticking for cleaning patches and pillow ticking for patching balls
  20. yup...you never know where you'll find the body
  21. Ayup...be there myself...with my Mosin and my SKS and...maybe...my .54 flinter. That's a depending on finding my balls... .535 cal I can't reme,ber where I put that stuff.
  22. I have a Richards Double with a right sidelockhammer problem...it's gone. I'm trying to keep from hocking the farm to fix it...I've only had it 3 years...got it broke. It was WAAAAY to much money for a junker. Perchance there's another one out there that's broke real bad that I can scrounge a hammer from? Or someone who knows where I can get a blank hammer. I can use a drill and a file to fit it. I'm not ever going to try and shoot it...the rightside firing pin is a 16 penny nail. I just want it to look better than a hammer made out of glued cardboard.
  23. Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle - Mosin-Nagant Front Sight Modification Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle (2006) - Surplusrifle.com Two suggestions
  24. I got out in 1960..personally, my favorite weapon was the 5"54 fully automatic. Radar controlled...naturally.
