  1. Try this: If this doesn't work try this one: I might be wrong but it looks like there's a spring missing or the groove that the trigger extension rides in is sloppy.
  2. There's some vids on youtube of AR's blowing up. Not this one, but others.
  3. There are places in this country where they're the bad guys
  4. First board was 1963. 3$ steel wheels
  5. anyone who waved this at a cop would have time to shoot...the cop would be laughing soooo hard
  6. I didn't think I did all that well with mine...I was wrong!
  7. I beat the Texas State Champ in 1969...and got to walk home
  8. We used a Fiat 1500 sedan... tie the steeringwheel ,climb on top, walk fron side to side so our weight made it turn. 3AM...bars closed, no traffic...although there was a stop sign at the bottom...oh! forgot...5th of Cutty Sark. My childhood is something I'm amazed at.
  9. Read it yourself: http://tennessee.gov/sos/acts/105/pub/pc0210.pdf Regardless of what others have posted...this is the Law in Tennessee
  10. the thing I like most about the linseed oil finish is that your hands slip and slide..until you "grab" it..then your hand "sticks"...you can feel it stick.
  11. I'm pretty happy with it too...cork the barrel and see how it shoots...maybe this weekend.
  12. sheesh...guys ...it's just a Mosin...thanks...GRIN
  13. Thanks...I had never considered Rit dye until I read boxotruth.com..it keeps getting darker too
  14. Here ya go...it's not really that red...but it looks nice laying on the grass.
  15. Cooked the linseed oil soaked stock over an oak fire...hmmm...I should have had a BBQ while I was at it. It got almost too hot to handle. When it's hot you have to rub it by hand, over and over, reheating it and rub some more. The Rit dye looks great. the volitile oils evaporate when you heat it but the rubbing "presses" the oil into the grain and leaves a hard oil finish It still looks like a battle rifle but it's close to shelac red and I bumped it pretty hard against the door and didn't mar the stain. Tomorrow I'll get the ball and chain to turn on the camera and post pics. Just remember it's a battle rifle.
  16. This gun doesn't deem to fit in any of the niches. The serial numbers match...but the bolt has a Tula star...so does the stock and it's assorted metal...but the mag trigger guard numbers match the rest. The stock still has the top butt arch but the bottom is almost straight. Once I got off all the "artificial wood" that distinctive belly was gone. I didn't take it down to smooth because it's a battle rifle so there's a couple of dents I'd prefer to call holes. The color is redder than the shelac but it looks ok.
  17. it's on it's second coat od linseed oil...looks pretty good for a real mess when I found the sawdust and glue. I even managed to "save" a couple of stock cartouches. There's one I have to look up...Circle with a 1 over 27 in it.
  18. Water...same as always...Beer once a month....and I brew...I just don't drink
  19. Plastic is sooo impressive
  20. very nice...since I already have all the finish...and most of the filler removed I'm looking for my stain. I use gasline antifreeze to remove the grease.
  21. the yellow spots are ALL sawdust and glue. This stock is a MESS! No wonder the shelac wouldn't stick. The shape is major different now and II'm wondering id I need an ebay stock!
  22. When we get a Republican president who revokes the Second under the Ezecutive Powers act you'll all be screaming the exact same words you're screaming now!
  23. Some people just can't seem to get a grip that "one of those" is running the country. They're offended...I'm offended that they're offended.
  24. The T-53's are still there...is everybody sick...or they worse than I thought?
