  1. Worrying about what? Have you been carrying w/o a permit?
  2. Is that the same for the hundreds, if not thousands of other national forest sites in the US? Or does it vary on a location by location basis?
  3. No offense, but I am getting so sick of seeing "its best for the children" card played. Are children not a concern in the hundreds of other places I am legally allowed to carry, both public and private? I guess a lot of people forget about robberies, explicit sexual activity, drug use, etc that occur in parks as well. People are going to be exposed to other activities at parks aside from soccer games, jungle gyms and pretty flowers. At least some people in Williamson are giving this second thoughts and considering both sides. My parents live in Williamson County and I will be contacting local officials explaining my viewpoints.
  4. Design Engineer w/ mechanical engineering background at a foundry that produces water valves, repair clamps and other odds/ends for water infrastructure and fire suppression systems.
  5. This parks thing is getting way too confusing. If I am deemed competent enough to carry in a national park and state park, what makes a national forest any different?
  6. +1 for the MTAC...I carry my Kahr CW9 in one and love it!
  7. Thanks...seems like a huge hassle for citizens visiting from other states where there is reciprocity. I've never known of a state where the local municipalities are trying to do so much to trump a state law.
  8. Is it just me or are TN cities the only ones making such a big fuss about this? I don't remember reading similar stories from surrounding states with legislation that allows permit holders to carry into restaurants where alcohol is served, including AL and GA.
  9. Hypothetical question, but does anyone know what the penalty would be for carrying into a city park that was posted? After all, state law says permit holders should be allowed to carry into parks. Could a city employee just ask you to leave or would it be an arrest situation?
  10. Video of Romancing the Road by Growing Bolder, at growingbolder.com
  11. This was my comment on a local news site. I think it sums it up nicely.
  12. WM on Signal Mtn. Rd had 100+ boxes of .40 as of this afternoon. Both Blazer and Federal.
  13. They are not posted in AL....I carry in there all the time. Not that I would recommend it, but you can also enjoy a frosty beverage in AL while carrying.
  14. I agree....great class and Chuck really gave us a workout, especially with the MEU SOC drills. I had never done any off-hand shooting, so that was quite an experience as well. The class was a great way to see what equipment worked and what could use some improvement. I was very impressed with how accurate the AR was with iron sights. I had always used my Holosight, but decided to see how well I did with just iron sights. Anyways, the drills, techniques and class in general was great and I would highly recommend this class to anyone. The atmosphere is very laid back, but always with a focused eye on safety and technique. I can't wait for the shotgun class this weekend!
  15. I'm game...any suggestions on restaurants? Mexican maybe?
  16. I'll also add that I love my Kahr CW9 and it also comes in a .40 and .45. The P series is essentially the same gun, but allows night sights to be added and has a bit nicer finishing in some areas. I alternate between the CW9 and a 442.
  17. I find this hard to believe as I have never seen an Applebee's (or any chain restaurant) posted in a carry allowed state.
  18. I agree with Skip's as well. Also, have you tried Steve from Silvers Firearms? He's out a little ways past Cleveland.
  19. Hey, that looks familiar! I'm missing this one already, but may pick up a full size RIA Tactical and build it up in a similar manner. Enjoy it!
  20. Nope...and don't plan on it. There are a lot of music festivals going on here in TN. Riverbend all week in Chatt, Bonnaroo starting later this week in Manchester and CMA Fest in Nashville.
