  1. Thanks for the review...I'm planning on calling this week to sign up for a course next weekend. You guys think these DOTs are bad, try the ones in Nashville... I will take some of your advice and check out the offices on Cherokee Blvd. or in Cleveland when the time rolls around.
  2. I'm pretty new to the whole shooting scene, but I'm up for an eat and shoot whenever.
  3. My sister just bought a washer, dryer, fridge and dishwasher from the HH Gregg in Cool Springs. If the one in Chattanooga is like the Franklin store, they had the best prices and service she could find. Good luck w/ the Chattanooga store...
  4. I hear the Stones River range is nice... http://www.tngunowners.com/dynamics/showentry.php?e=6&catid=4
  5. And they seem to raise prices every time I go in there. Those Rock Mount Bipods that are $39 at Walmart were $47 at SW (which isn't too bad), but when I went back a couple days later they were now marked $59. I don't see how they can compete w/ some of the prices they have. A few weeks later and the same bipods are $39 at Walmart.
  6. Actually when I called I was routed through to Knoxville, that has happened a few times for me in Chattanooga. Not sure why since there is a huge Comcast complex down here.
  7. I just got my bill today (which is what prompted me to call) and it was $101.87 after the taxes and fees. That is for 6MB HSI w/ NO modem rental (I have my own) and just the "digital starter" cable with no movie channels or anything like that.
  8. This is just a FYI for those of you who are currently Comcast subscribers and feel you are paying way too much. Both of my "promotions" ended a couple months ago and I got sick of paying the $100+ for internet and digital cable. Anyways, I called retentions and asked if they had any promotions for current subscribers. They tried to sell me on the Triple Play for $99 (wow, $1 savings), but I told them I use my cell phone for my house phone and they couldn't change that. I also told them I didn't necessarily want to drop my service, but we recently got DSL in the area and DirectTV was looking kind of tempting. Anyways, he came back with a deal of $59/month for 6 months. Hey, I'm not complain about saving $40/month, especially with the way gas and ammo prices have risen. Anyways, the moral of this story is that it doesn't hurt to call and ask about a better rate. I've learned that being polite goes a long ways. If they say no, you can always call back and hopefully get a different CSR. Hope this helps someone save a couple bucks!
  9. Wow, that sends chills down my spine. Same scenario happened on a show I was watching on primetime TV...maybe Criminal Intent or some type of CSI show. Anyways, this well dressed guy would knock on doors w/ a injured cat/dog in his hands asking if it was the homeowner's. He would then sweet talk his way in to use the phone and before you knew it an accomplice appeared and there were 2 guys in the house. The ended up tying up families and killing everyone in the house. It was a really messed up episode, but really got me to thinking that something like this could happen. 3 other points of interest, they had cut phone lines, unscrewed the porch light bulb before knocking (I guess to be more discreet) and also had a cell phone scrambler so the homeowners were essentially w/o communication. Looks like you made the right choice by yelling through the door. Hope my story doesn't scare you, but that sounds all too familiar!
  10. Welcome from another Chattanoogan!
  11. This is a step in the right direction...I'm sure there will be arguments of how do older students differ from faculty members, especially since I have has some teachers who are my same age, mainly graduate TAs. I definitely look forward to the outcome of this and will do what I can to insure support.
  12. Damn, I look like that after 2 days!
  13. 9mm prices jumped from $15.72 to $18.42 for the 100 pack. I knew I should have stocked up earlier this week.
  14. Do you recall what the entrance fee usually is? I am assuming $6-$8...
  15. I'm starting to lose all faith in authority. First it was the NOPD unlawfully taking personal guns during Katrina, then the Coal Creek Armory VP getting hassled in Wal-Mart, then our wonderful Hamilton Co. Sheriff Long and now this. I know these handful of incidents only scratch the surface. Protect and serve...more like abuse your power and act like a jacka$$!
  16. Picked up a 1.5" gun belt from DM Bullard on Ebay... It was $65 and I had it in 3 days. I also got a nice IWB holster for my XDsc while I was at it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about this option, but I am more than pleased. http://www.dmbullardleather.com/ I figure more options is better than too few.
  17. Do you have the rest of this series...?
  18. Enjoying one of my many other hobbies...
  19. Welcome from Chattanooga...
  20. Thanks, I might have to stop in on my way back from VA on Sunday.
  21. I watched that...pretty sweet! Looks like this show is all about the history of a particular model, never seen it before, but I'm going to have to start watching.
  22. Bill Clinton
  23. After your post on the XD9 sc, I figured you were sold on that. Guess not...congrats on the new toys!
  24. Congrats on the baby! The show was alright...lots of guns to look at and I saw a few decent deals, but nothing spectacular. The highlight of the show for me was picking up 1000 rds. of 7.62 and a few little odds and ends for my Saiga and XD for cheaper than I could find on Ebay.
  25. UMC bulk packs of 9mm went up $12 at Sportsman's Warehouse. From $48 to $60!!! Still $43 at Wal-Mart...
