  1. Yea, I saw that too. Sorry I didn't see you around or I would have stopped and said hi. I got there right at 9 and left around 12...I was starting to get claustrophobic at the end there...skinny aisles and tons of people!
  2. Some dealers there charged me tax and some did not...
  3. After contemplating even modifying my Saiga, I finally took the plunge. Parts include: -Ace Skeleton stock w/ internal receiver block -Tapco Saw pistol grip -Tapco G2 trigger group -Shepard's crook -Hungarian 20 rd. mags & a 30 rd. I picked up at the show today -Dinzag bullet guide (still waiting to this) -Stock Saiga hand guard (I don't want to change this out quite yet) I know a lot of people use the Saiga specific polymer mags or actually modify their feed lips on normal AK mags, but I opted to just grind down the mag release a bit so I can use any standard issue AK mag. Anyways, on to the pics. I still need to ditch the Chinese sling and find a mustard yellow Russian one. I have a BP02 mount, but I'm still searching for the perfect scope to put on it.
  4. I thought it was a decent show...only $7 to get in w/ the coupon. I picked up an AR-15 lower for $110 OTD, some .38 special SXT ammo and some misc odds and ends for the AK (mags, pouches and small parts for a Saiga build).
  5. Thanks David, I'll do that and hopefully it helps!

    Homosexuality

LOL at everything in the last 2 pages...
  7. OK, I joined NRA a few months ago and ever since then have been receiving non-stop junk mail from them in my mailbox. Everything from insurance to rental car discounts...it is averaging at least 3 pieces a week. I'm to the point where I'm ready to cancel my membership if all its going to do is pay for all this crap they keep sending me. Is there anyway to opt out of all this junk mail???
  8. Not sure your daily schedule, but I believe Carter's on 58 advertises night classes split between 2 weekday evenings. EDIT: Whoops, I was thinking you were in Chattanooga...
  9. I'm planning on heading up to Prentice Cooper after the gun show this Saturday.
  10. I'll be there as well looking for a Walther P22, some .38 spl SD ammo and some misc odds and ends for my Saiga conversion (AK pistol grip bushing and magazines...hopefully some 20 rd. Hungarians).
  11. Sam's Club has discontinued their rolling aluminum Remington long gun cases that were originally $99. They are now priced anywhere from $19 to $49 depending on your store. The price at various Sam's around Nashville had fluctuation, that is why this is YMMV, but some stores had at least 15 (you may have to ask to have them pulled from an upper shelf). You should be able to check price and availability at the following link. These cases are very nice and will handle 1-2 long guns w/ no problem and best of all they are approved for checked airline travel. I paid $30 at the Cool Springs store. I saw on the AK forum that someone found them in VA for $19...other Nashville stores have them for $49. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item_nbr=738731&landing=738731
  12. If memory serves me right, there is an awesome surplus store in Wilmington, called Stricklands or something along those lines. Might be worth checking them out...I can't believe the Dick's didn't have anything, they usually always have those small Plano cases. I spend a lot of time in Wilmington and WB, but can't think of any other places in town that would have dedicated pistol cases. Are you looking for a safe-type case to keep locked at home or just a small case/rug for transportation purposes?
  13. I stopped in over the weekend that you had the 5.11 sale, although I was there early and very briefly...I definitely added it to my list of favorite shops.
  14. I might take a slight detour and check it out tomorrow, as well as the surplus store on the top of Monteagle. Yes, there is also a Big Daddy's Fireworks, but that's a few exits away from what I remember.
  15. Everytime I drive from Chattanooga to Nashville I see this sign around the Kimball exit. It looks like this place is actually 5-10 miles from I-24, but in Bridgeport, AL. Has anyone ever taken a detour and checked this place out? Obviously I couldn't buy a gun there, just wanted to see if it was worth my time to hop off the interstate for this one.
  16. You only get a $10 certificate for every $300 you spend...the initial $10 may have been a one-time promotion.
  17. The first post was referring to the last show... I wanted to specifically know about this weekend and I see some people who have attended shared their experiences. Thanks for trying though...
  18. Gander...even their used gun prices were higher than most place's prices on new guns!
  19. Has anyone been to this show yet...if so, what was the turnout like?
  20. Wow, thats a strong opinion if I've ever seen one. LOL!

    buying guns?

It depends on what gun store I was in...
  22. strick, I really don't know what to say to that other than wow...
  23. I hope this dude keeps on making videos...I'm starting to like these!
  24. It's not the best, but my Rock Island 1911 eats the .45 w/o a major issue. As mentioned before, its super dirty though...
