Free trigger kits. And the winners are......

I'm not sure if threads like this are allowed, but I figured it may help for anyone looking for employment. The company I currently work for is looking for quality CNC machinists (and possibly a few manual machinists), as well as CMM operators. We are located near Huntsville, AL and in the medical instrument/robot/implant manufacturing business. If you apply and accept a job this month, you will also earn a $5000 signing bonus after a probationary period. If you're interested, please PM me and I will get you all the details.

Moved to Alabama...TN Permit still Valid?
BrandonTN replied to BrandonTN's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thanks for all the replies guys. I have not had a chance to make it to the sheriff's office yet, but I will reply back with what I find out. I have heard some Madison County residents have had to wait 6 months before the sheriff will issue a permit after moving here. Hopefully already having a TN permit will waive that wait period. -
Moved to Alabama...TN Permit still Valid?
BrandonTN posted a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have recently moved to Alabama and now have an AL driver's license. I am pretty sure I know the answer to this (and will obviously check with the local sheriff), but is my TN carry permit still valid with an AL driver license? I stopped carrying once I got my AL license, but will check with the local sheriff when I get a chance. Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and what info you found out. Thanks! -
Anyone have an enclosed trailer to rent/loan?
BrandonTN replied to BrandonTN's topic in General Chat
I may take you up on that...would be sometime in the next few weeks just for a day or 2 during the weekend. I have never had trouble w/ the actual U-Haul trailers, but the last one I reserved weeks in advance, I pulled up there in the morning and they didn't have it. However, they were nice enough to locate me one 100 miles away that I had to go pick-up (no other choice as I had to have the trailer that day). Plus they would not give me the $50 reservation guarantee cash, because in their mind they got me the trailer I needed. I'd like to avoid that hassle if at all possible. -
I am moving to Huntsville soon and need to rent or borrow a small enclosed trailer to move some stuff. I have rented 12' U-Haul trailers in the past, but their rates seem a lot higher recently and their equipment is always pretty crappy. Any leads in the Chattanooga area would much appreciated.

Bo, it's worth staying downtown or over by Hamilton Place. I think downtown would offer a better experience, but I am not sure your weekend schedule. As mentioned, I can not in good faith recommend any lodging near the comedy club. Let me know if you need suggestions for anything else in the area.

Sperry's in Belle Meade or Cool Springs is one of my favorites...very unique atmosphere.

Not at all, it's all about priorities. Personally, if one is hurting for money, I believe they should give up all luxuries, including cable and internet. Heck, I pick up ~10 HD channels w/ just a few coat hangers and a 2x4. No need to pay Comcast $60+/month. Also, there are plenty of ways to cut costs on current luxuries if you must have them. Do you really need the high-speed internet...why not downgrade a few speeds and save $30/month? I guess I'll eat my words if all these guys on here complaining are going to the library to use the internet.

You guys complaining about not being able to afford benefactor status...what do you pay for cable, phone (home and cell) and internet? Do you smoke, buy Cokes, eat out...? Can you lower the thermostat 1 or 2 degrees? Surely you can cut costs somewhere to afford the extra $3/month to become a Benefactor.

This decision was made 2 months ago, so really has nothing to do with his current "transgressions."

I just picked up a Canon XSi w/ kit lens (18-55) and a 55-250 lens for $633 shipped. So far it has been a great beginner DSLR and I couldn't find anywhere else that could touch the price... I also added a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II for $90 more. I think I'm all set for awhile!

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist
BrandonTN replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Sounds like what Marcus Luttrell was talking about in The Lone Survivor. According to his book, many of the US troops fear the US liberal media more than the Taliban. -
I am needing to use a press to press out some u-joints in my truck's driveshaft and was wondering if anyone around here had one. I've melted the plastic retainers, soaked them in PB Blaster and tried the sledge/socket trick w/ no luck. Any help would be appreciated...

Anyone going to the Jack Daniels BBQ Championship this weekend?
BrandonTN replied to Jasongar8's topic in General Chat
I'm thinking of heading up from Huntsville. For those of you who have been in the past, how early should I get there to secure a good parking spot and tour the distillery before it gets too crowded? Also, can you sample any Q from the teams who are cooking? I;ve read some reviews that said the only food available was from overpriced vendors that were lacking in the taste department. -
Swanky's Taco Shop in Cool Springs: Posted
BrandonTN replied to redstategunnut's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I was in Swanky's a few weeks ago and they were posted. I spoke with the hostess about how I felt and also sent an e-mail. I never got a response back (assumed I wouldn't) and haven't been back to see if the legal sticker postings are still up. That would be great news if the stickers were taken down. Their Mexican isn't the best I've ever had, but I thought it was decent enough for a back-up dinner option if other restaurants we really wanted to go to were packed. -
Open Carrier Has Police Confrontation (NC)

I think the officer has every right to ask him for his ID to prove his age. Or is there no age requirement to open carry? -

Exercise your rights or lose them...eventually it will be that people don't need to be bringing guns to restaurants, where it may scare somebody. Oh wait...

Wanted: People Who Aren't Afraid To Think BIG...
BrandonTN replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Sounds like something great in the works! I agree about cramped spaces and large crowds...I eventually get pissed off from walking .0001 mph behind large groups of people and just leave. It would be nice if people who were attending and had stuff to sell could pre-register online and list what they were going to have available. I think it would also be worth price of admission to see lots of items and options under 1 roof...service and selection sometimes are worth more than just the lowest price on a tag, IMO. Let me know if you need any help in Chattanooga...seems like a pretty centralized place being ~ 2 hours from Nashville, Atlanta, Knoxville, Huntsville and Birmingham.
