She was fine w/ the Uncle Mike's grips I had on mine, but didn't like the trigger pull...it is a lot heavier than other guns out there.

Let her go handle a bunch of guns and try to test out some before making a decision. Whatever you do, do not choose a gun for her...it will most likely be one which she would not pick.

I have been looking at Sig P229s a lot lately, but am turned off by the DA/SA as I could never get used to that first trigger pull being so heavy. The DAK trigger looks promising as it is a consistent 6.6 lb pull, which is pretty close to my M&P. Does anyone have any info or experience with the DAK trigger? Pros and cons? Thanks!

My Fobus works fine for me when pulling range duty...if the edges are rubbing you the wrong way, a few minutes with a file or Dremel and some sandpaper should do the trick.

Right now my fellow gun owners / ammo hoarders worry me more than Obama. That's freakin' scary... I was at WM one morning in NC and the owner of a local range was there buying $5k + worth of ammo. He must be paying an employee or something to alert him, b/c he was there right when the ammo came in. I asked him about it and he said he can't get it from his suppliers, so WM is the next best option. I told him I was planning on stopping by his shop and range for a bit on the way home, but had no ammo to use and wasn't about to pay his mark-up. He offered to let me buy 2 boxes of his hoard, but I politely declined and walked off...and to think I was considering a membership to this place.

Finally it arrived! I got home today and it was waiting for me in the mailbox. My Wal-mart list has been growing the past week, so off I go...

What also pissed me off about the classroom scenario was that the "police shooter" always went after the armed student first. In a real life situation the bad guy is not going to know who is armed. It also reaffirmed that there are some extremely stupid teens in this world (looking down the barrel to see if the gun is loaded, etc). Every school student should at least have firearms safety covered in some class, even if just for a day. But that would never happen w/ education institutions being so liberal these days.

Now I'm officially ticked off...I figured today would be the day since lots of you guys got yours today. I don't understand how people who called and got theirs issued after me and live further away have already received theirs. I need to call tomorrow to make sure they really did issue it. It would have been nice to have while out of town this weekend!

No dice today... It's been exactly a week + 1 day since they said it was issued. I could have walked to Nashville, picked it up and been home by now.

Nope, not today either...I'll keep replying to myself until it shows up. This is driving me crazy!

Well I called last Tuesday and she said that she would go ahead and issue it...still nothing in the mailbox, but hopefully it arrives this week!

Well, I'm at a little over 30 days...guess I'll make the call at lunch tomorrow.

I rebuilt the automatic transmission in my old Grand Cherokee if that says anything...no shop ever touches my rides, except for the occasional alignment or to mount and balance tires. (You can only get it so close in the driveway w/o a rack and computer and golf balls & BBs get the balance close, but depending on the vehicle, nothing beats a good RoadForce balance).

Thanks for clearing this up...I hate hearing the media call these performance bonuses when in fact they were not. It could have been a lot worse if these people were not paid to stay around and keep the company somewhat together. This info is also not coming from a news source, but the firm auditing their books.

There is one in a nice part of Franklin (Cool Springs area). Also, the RRI in Chattanooga is in a decent part of town. Not the best and by far, not the worst. There are better areas within a few miles of the airport though, but you should still be perfectly safe.

Especially since that lady found a mouse in her dinner...
