I trust everybody had a great time at the match. A big THANK YOU to the sponsors how helped to provide a great prize table, to Mike Madden for lunch, to all the ROs/SOs for their hard work, to all the shooters for the toys, and Michael Bresson from Middle Tennessee for the two bicycles. See you next year!!

Congratulations for putting on a great match. A special thank you to Michael for the donation of the two bicycles to the ORSA Toys for Tots match. Very Classy.

As previously stated, we will use IDPA scoring but generally follow USPSA rules, ie. no cover, concealment, or goofy reloading restrictions. Below are the rules for the match somewhat more precisely articulated: 7th Annual ORSA Toys for Tots Match November 2, 2013 MATCH RULES: Equipment: Any handgun that is legal for USPSA Limited division is legal for this match. For those unfamiliar with USPSA rules, any gun that is IDPA legal would conform with this rule, as would any USPSA divison gun except for Open. Any holster and magazine pouch that is legal for USPSA production or IDPA is legal for this match. Regardless of size, no more than 10 rounds may be loaded into a magazine (and fewer if so stated by the course description). Holsters and Magazines must be positioned behind the hip bone. Double belt systems may be used. Scoring: IDPA scoring system will be used. Each point down will add 0.5 seconds to the competitor’s time. Procedural penalties will be 3 seconds. Hits on a No-Shoot target will carry a 5 second penalty. Failure to neutralize a target will carry a 5 second penalty, except on Stage 8 (Steel Challenge Stage), where missing a target will result in a 3 second penalty. Awards: Upon the completion of the match, the order of finish for all the competitors will be determined, and divided into equal thirds. The upper third will be designated Gold (G) Division, middle third Silver (S) Division, and bottom third Bronze (B ) Division. The Divisions will be split as described below: If the total number of shooters equals 3n: the number of shooters in each division will equal n. If the total number of shooters equals 3n+1: the number of shooters in Gold Division and Silver Division will equal n; the number of shooters in Bronze Division will equal n+1 If the total number of shooters equals 3n+2: the number of shooters in Gold Division will equal n; the number of shooters in Silver Division and Bronze Division will equal n+1 Winners will go to the prize table in the following order: First Gold First Silver First Bronze Second Gold Second Silver Second Bronze Third Gold Third Silver Third Bronze Fourth place overall Fifth place overall Sixth place overall And so forth until the prize table is clear. SAFETY RULES ALL USPSA safety rules will be strictly enforced. ORSA is a cold range, guns are to remain unloaded until directed by the RO/SO to make Ready. Guns will not be handled unless under the direction of RO/SO; or in the designated Safety Areas. Ammunition may not be handled in the Safety Areas. APPEALS All decisions by the Range Master are final.

Tim-that would be great. Thank you

Thank you Rickey - In addition to Master-Tac, we will also have some Geissele gear coming, including a trigger or 2, courtesy of Bill Geissele and Deliberate Dynamics.

I would prefer that you send in your application so I can get you in the computer, make your packet with labels, and get you squadded up appropriately.

The Prize table is getting better everyday. New items include: Certificate to attend Max Michel (Do I really need to list Max's titles and accomplishments?) one-day training class. Certificate for STI 2011 frame. Stripped AR lowers
-
Correct - max of 10 rounds per magazine
-
As many as you want to carry. Double velcro belts are allowed. As far as the round count, the 8 stages are not final yet but the round count will probably be in the 180-225 range, but bring more.
-
It is a "hybrid" match. We use IDPA targets/scoring with what I like to call IPSC no-rules, ie. there are no rules regarding cover, concealment, or reloads. No race guns or gear allowed. No divisions. We use the Lewis system to award the prizes. There will Gold (G), Silver (S), Bronze (B) winners.

Package from Stag Arms arrived today for the prize table.

Have a new facebook page for the match: Orsa.t4t Check it out. Will be adding updates frequently.

ORSA USPSA 19 October - The Great Pumpkin Match

The month it is the Great Pumpkin/Little Extortionist Match! The stages are up at ORSAAP.com and at our facebook page: ORSA-uspsa. Lots of steel, lots of fast shooting, some slow and accurate shooting, and guaranteed to be a lot of fun. Hope to see you at the range. -
The new ownership is trying hard at customer service. The people they now have working understand and care about the customer. I think Eric is always there to address any issues.

No word on the lunch menu, but for those of you who have attended before, you know how good the food is. The prize table is continuing to grow. Tactical Advantage (formerly Coal Creek Armory) is a major sponsor again, and Sig has stepped on board as a major sponsor this year along with Magpul and Springfield Armory. In addition, we are getting strong support from Shooters Connection, Brownells, MidwayUSA, Predator Arms, and the Gilbert Perez's Patriot Shooting Academy. We are continuing to get new sponsors on board and will keep you updated.

The Oak Ridge Sportsman Association (ORSA) will be hosting our 7th Annual Toys for Tots Match. This is a "hybrid" pistol match - IPDA scoring but without any cover/concealment/reloading restrictions. The match will include 8 varied pistol stages, cost is only $35 + a new toy, and that includes lunch for all shooters, a goody bag, and a chance at a prize table that will have a minimum of 4 guns on it. Its a great cause, a lot of fun, and good food. More information and an registration form is available at orsaap.com and orsaidpa.com.

I concur that East Tennessee is where you want to look. ORSA is a great facility with lots of opportunity for some competitive shooting, including monthly USPSA, Steel Challenge, 3-Gun, IDPA and SASS matches. As an aside, if you are a golfer, the golf in Knoxville/East TN is much better than in Nashville.
