Thanks for the plug Paul. Gotta throw some kudos at Robert Garrett also - he was the mastermind for today's match.

Time to sign up the ORSA's 8th Annual Toys for Tots match to be held 1 November! If you have not already experienced the match, it is an action pistol "hybrid" match, using IDPA scoring and "IPSC no-rules." There will be 8 fun and challenging stages, a free lunch, and a great prize table. Prizes are awarded using a variation of the Lewis System, so virtually any one has a chance on getting a top prize off the table. Guns that are legal for IDPA or USPSA Limited are allowed - though 10 round limit on magazines, and holster and mag styles and placement consistent with IDPA / production class rules. Cost is only $35 + a new toy (minimum $15 value). Application available at our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ORSA-Toys-for-Tots/1474924499437284

Hmmm……. switching to thinking in base 8 from base 6 may give you a headache. -
Driving home yesterday I realized I was negligent in not recognizing John Suter during the awards ceremony. He worked many many hours in getting the stages designed and built. A BIg BIG THANK YOU JOHN!
-
His stages are great and he knows the rules better than anyone. Of course, he was there at the beginning of IDPA, I think he first shot IDPA with a flintlock.
-
Yes, John has come up with some great stage designs. Will force you to use the creative side of your brain.
-
Expect some stages that don't tell you go to point A - shoot T10T4, then go Point B etc; instead it may say "Start at Point A with gun loaded, engage all the targets using cover and IDPA approved reloads" - which leaves room for shooter creativity.

We have selected the Hampton Inn in Oak Ridge to be the Match Hotel again this year. It is within 10 minutes of the range, next door to good Mexican restaurant with very cold beer. Call 865-482-2222 and mention the ORSA IDPA Secret City Challenge to get our group rate.

ORSA USPSA Agent 86 Maxwell Smart April 19 Match

We are sticking with the 10AM start time. -
No besmirching - just facts.
-
We are here. Let me suggest that you also need to try out USPSA at ORSA on the third Saturday. Its like IDPA - same gun that you shot in IDPA works fine for USPSA, but there are more targets, more creativity, and no stupid reloading/cover rules. Check out facebook.com/orsa-uspsa for stages and information.
