I have a Kahr P380 , love it but had to send it back to the factory 2 times before it was reliable. If you want the reliability of a light weight revolver that's the way to go ; if you feel confident carrying it then you have the right gun. The light weight revolver is not a range gun , it is a carry piece.

I'm always OWB , just where I want to reach if I need to shoot , or if confronted on what would be second draw where my wallet is close to. Usually carrying a .45 cocked and locked.

The Performance Center model already has a factory trigger job. The grips come from the factory as well , can't say that S&W makes them , I doubt it.
