  1. Really good show. I have seen alot more older guys buying the AR lowers and getting the BRD. Gives me a warm fuzzy. In fact it was my second best show since I got my FFL. Lots of Spike's Tactical, Eo-Tech, and Magpul stuff went really quick pff the table at this show. Plus I took a bunch of orders for Spike's t-shirts that I am ordering this week for guys I didn't have their size in. Looking forward to the other shows.
  2. I was there last night. Slow but steady. Not bad for a Friday. I am hoping for a bigger turnout today and maybe Sunday since the reparation checks are out.
  3. Unless something changed, it is only Sat and Sun. They weren't going to do the Friday thing again I thought.
  4. I will be there with four tables. The flyers are now showing it will be a 1000 table show, up from 850 or so. Should be a damn good show. Advertising is everywhere.
  5. RK Shows is having a show at the Expo Center at Exit 108 off of I-75N. 500 table show. Myself and the Mrs. will be there with three tables. Standard fare of AR lowers, LPK's, M-4 and A-3 uppers, Magpul goodies, rifles cases, assault packs, range bags, Eo-Tech, flip up sights, etc., etc. I have some new lowers in along with their associated t-shirts so stop by and say hi you infidels.... ETA - Just a short list of what I will have there: Lowers are by Spike's Tactical and Essential Arms (Tried to get some Sabre Defence ones also but they have anodizing machine problems at the moment) T-shirts are Spike's Tactical various Infidel and Punisher ones LPK's are J&T Distributing (1) Glock 22 modded for IPSC/3-gun/etc. M-4 6 pos stocks (black/tan) (3) M4 Uppers (1) A3 20-in upper Rail systems 16"/20" Rail covers flip up sights, fron/rear Removeable carry handles (1) USGI M14 fiberglass stock CProducts mags w/ magpul followers (1) Fulton Armory AR carbine in green (1) Magpul PRS Magpul PMAG's with windows, black and tan 36"/42"/46" Rifle Cases and sniper drag bags/shooters mats medium modular assault pack (think Falcon II by Maxpedition) tactical deployment/range bag And other goodies....
  6. According to RK, it is in Smyrna at the old Bob Pope Show building. It will be a 3-day show, Apr 25-27. They are pretty locked in, but I couldn't pay for my tables yet, just reserve them. I have three tables lined up for it. I remember the LaVergne show. It ws awesome, but parking sucked, as well as the layout and the cost to rent the building. They said they would look for a new setup and apparently they did.
  7. You might be surprised.....
  8. Thanks for the replies. I am starting off with the 180gr loading since I found out that you should work from the closest heavier loading so so you don't have higher pressure loadings. I went to the Hodgdon/IMR website and they didn't have but I used their load calculator and printed off the loading for all IMR4895 loads and am loading using the 180gr loading on there.
  9. I should be there with three tables. Sabre Defence and Essential Arms lowers as well as Magpul PMAGs with windows, 36" and 42" MOLLE rifle cases, LPK's, stocks, etc, etc, etc...
  10. I picked up 200 rounds of Hornady 178gr A-Max Moly bullets and have a reloading problem with them powder wise. The reloading charts show the two loadings listed below for use with IMR4895 (the powder I am using): 175gr: 41.0 grains 180gr: 40.5 grains I am using once fired Federal GMM cases and Winchester LR primers for the other details. My "theory" is that I should load at the 175gr loading. What says the experienced hands?
  11. Your buddies are giving into the koolaid. You can order an upper in a kit or a complete upper from Del-Ton, or pick up a completed upper from J&T Distributing at one of the Nashville or Knoxville or other shows they do, add any lower you like, along with a stock and a lower parts kit, or buy the complete (except lower receiver) kit from one of the above or other companies and voila, you have a AR for about $650 or so, depending on what options you want. I get all of my stuff from either one of the two companies I mentioned above for uppers and for most other things I sell as far as the actual gun parts. Hope this helps.
  12. Well I am down here and setup. The 10 lowers came in before I left, so I do have those along with the two M4 completed lowers. I am against the far wall to the left as you walk in the front. I don't have my banner up, but I do have a write board behind my table on the ledge that says AR15 lower - $115. I also have a pegboard with Magpul PMAG's and other stuff on it and I have ACU table covers so it should be easy to find my tables.
  13. I made my reservations today for two tables. I should have at least 2 assembled lowers, might have 10 stripped lowers if they come in. I will also have lots of packs, PMAG's (with and without windows), (3) USGI mags (w/Magpul followers), front and rear BUIS's, LPK's, buttstocks, weapon mount tac lights, etc, etc. Look for the ACU table covers. I should have the Tennessee Police Supply sign up.
  14. Williamson County Ag Expo building just south of Franklin off of I-65. Friday is for TGCA members only, Sat/Sun open to all. I will have three tables there for Tennessee Police Supply and Frank with ETS, Inc. will have two tables there. Come see us.
  15. If it works out right I should be there setting up for three tables.
  16. They delayed my permit because they needed the final disposition of a misdemeanor charge from 1992. What was this gross violation you say? Well right before Desert Storm I got a speeding ticket from the THP. Well I deployed to the sandbox and forgot about it. Bigger things on my mind you know. Well I was on terminal leave from Ft. Campbell and was driving through Nashville to go home since I lived there then. Well I pass two THP troopers running RADAR on I think Dickerson Pike. Well after I pass them I flash my headlights to let people know they are there. Well some MNPD car was ahead of me, saw me do it, pulled over until I passed, then lit me up lights and sirens and all that stuff. Well long story short I got tickets from Driving on Suspended License for not paying the ticket and for the headlight thing I got one for Obstructing Justice. So I get the original ticket paid, get the license reinstated and go to court. Both charges dismissed, especially since the 2nd charge didn't exist as a charge under law for what I did. Fast forward to last year when I went to get my permit. The state had no record of the final disposition of the 2nd charge and was delaying me on my HCP. So I had to go to the Metro courthouse, they pulled a paper copy fo the dismissal out of the basement somewhere and made me a copy that I sent to the DOS. A week later I got my permit in the mail. Go figure. A nice note is that the Metro courthouse people did up the paperwork without me even asking to for the charges to be expunged. I signed where I needed to and about 3 weeks later I get the paperwork in the mail for that stuff signed by a judge and all. So there are reasons why you get denied/delayed. Even if it is BS reasons.
  17. I know we used to carry 7-10 mags at the most. I have seen pictures and video from Vietnam that showed two ammo pouches with (3) 20's in each, and alot of times two bandoliers, either (4) or (5) loaded 20's in each one. So on "average" I could see 14 or 16 mags carried of 20-rd ones. No more that that probably with all of the other **** carried also. 320 rounds of 5.56mm at the most + 1 or two mags on the gun. Call it 360 rounds. Most guys seem to carry a bunch more water than mags IIRC.
  18. My experience with several Carbon-15 guns brought to me or asked about for repairs seem to have cracking problems in the upper receiver sides and several people I know hate the damn things. I don't personally like them and do not seem to be something I would trust to use, especially with some of the rough things I do with a gun.
  19. I just got my .223/.308/and .45 dies in. I have a ton of once fired (3000+)military .223, over 2000 cases of Federal GMM .308, and lots of other calibers in .45 and 9mm and quite a bit of .40 also. I got to go to several instructor level schools in the last year and nobody collects brass so it's all mine...broohaha... My progressive kit will be here this week and my bench is going to be mostly done tomorrow, if not finished hopefully. So I gots to gets some stuffing for these cases soon. As far as the old fogies out there at the bench, well times have changed. I'm 37 and am into the uber cool rounds. I don't hunt, only precision and target shoot. So the most accuracy I can ring from a round is great, but quickly and accurately engaging targets is my forte now. Sure you can learn from the old farts, but they can too but they usually won't. If it ain't my old 30-30 it ain't worth nuthin for killing deer... The 2nd and my gun ownership (and selling) isn't about hunting and being a fudd. Some people just don't get that. JMHO, YMMV.
  20. Wish I knew more details. I live in Hermitage myself and have never been there. Kind of scared off by the stories from customers and friends that have been lately.
  21. Got this in an e-mail from Doug Woodlee, the guy in charge of TICS at TBI. I don't know all the details, only what's in the e-mail. Sounds like a firemission to me. WTF over? Update: Several gun stores in the area have been targeted....
  22. +1 and also what types of loads? Standard hardball, HP's, match ammo, etc. Details man, details....
  23. No biggie, no insult implied or taken. I have never been to reloaders bench, but havebeen hearing bad stories lately from friends and customers in the last 4 months so I don't know what is going on with them lately.
  24. No. I have my own FFL business and ordered it from one of my distributors.
