  1. Correct. Only military or LE personnel. However, he does teach other classes open to civilians as well as military and police. High Ground Training Group is the name of the company.
  2. Attended a school conducted at Tullahoma by the High Ground Training Group I am one of the Master Instructors for. It was a Level IV Mixed Terrain and Target Interdiction Sniper School for police and military personnel. The class was made up of almost all instructors since we were validating the course of fire and training exercises before we put it on for real for regular students. The premise was prep for the very possible scenarios here in the US of a Beslan School Massacre or the Mumbai Incident. Both of which involved multiple terrorists conducting attacks at multiple locations. We attended classes in the evening going over the next day of training and conducted briefings of the incidents mentioned. We also critiqued the previous day of training and improvement that needed to be done. All of the training was conducted at the Volunteer Training Site for the TN Army National Guard at Tullahoma. I carried a DPMS TAC-20 .308 and my new Bushmaster ACR Basic Folder in .223. The ACR had a total of 50 rounds through it when I showed up and didn't have any problems at all, just one of the mags I brought. The DPMS had problems with one mag (DPMS) and that was it. Total round count for the week was around 375 for the .308 and about 500 or so for the .223. Had a little bit of pistol thrown in of about 75 rounds of .45 with my Kimber TLE-RL.
  3. All I can say is that unless they are Chip McCormick or Wilson 8-rd mags, I wouldn't use them.
  4. I think Rutherford County SO has a .50 Barrett also....
  5. Denny Elliot of Sniper Pro Shop custom makes kydex. We will all be down in Tullahoma this week for a sniper school but will be back Friday. Drop him a email or call. His website is Home
  6. I hate to admit this, but Colt is one of the best you can buy and will retain it's value. They currently are the manufacturer of the military issue M4 and their quality is second to none. There are plenty of dancing pony fanboys out there, but they do make a good point. There are others out there, some more and some less expensive. I have had Colt, LMT, Ruger, Sabre, home built, etc. The nicest finished ones I have ever had is a Colt. So no you won't go wrong with a Colt.
  7. Well since you never said that you were a TN resident on military orders to FTCKY in the original posting, that changes alot of things. And check with your JAG, because when I was at Campbell, we were considered KY residents there since the post office is in KY, the whole base is considered to be KY.
  8. You are wrong on most counts. You cannot buy handguns from a FFL in either state, just the one you currently reside in. You can buy long guns from a FFL in either state. You can buy FTF handguns from an individual that is a resident of KY. You cannot FTF anything from TN residents anymore.
  9. BS isn't quite right. Sounds like outright lies. Especially the part about just walking into the sheriff's personal office.
  10. Gee first off I am sure that the police do not care that you think the SWAT team is not needed. SWAT units are usually better equipped and trained for dealing with armed drug dealers. Second of all it did say that the house was paid off. Reading is fundamental. Third the warrant stated that the dealers were storing drugs at the unoccupied houses. Overall your opinion is uninformed, whiny about police tactics, and you can't read what is said in a search warrant, which a judge signed. Go back to an Arizona board and leave your sandy mangina out of Tennessee.
  11. That is a hell of a warrant. It is extremely detailed and I can see where a judge would agree that all parties were involved in the mid-level drug trade. Nobody has any type of fixed income from a job, yet all parties have lots of expensive assets and property. There is more than "by association". It appears that he was observed making suspected drug runs, plus had prior arrests dealing with narcotics and weapon charges. Just because somebody is or was in the military, doesn't mean they are a good person. I have arrested plenty of military individuals. Doesn't get you a free pass.
  12. Totally impractical of way of carry if you expect deploy it in any kind of lifesaving situation. Designed for deep concealment so hopefully you are a fortune teller and can predict when trouble is coming so you can get it out in time.
  13. They lost me with the magwell grip thing. Everything else was sweet.
  14. This poses some very interesting questions in my mind. Since process serving by it's nature is a lot of times a confrontational process, and you are armed while you are doing it, does that make you more liable than if you weren't? Would this make you some kind of sub-category of an armed private security guard? Would you be considered to be "going armed" if there is a confrontation, permit or not since "you" initiated the contact by serving papers? I really have no idea since it has never come up before.
  15. I just sold mine on gunbroker for $425
  16. Makes me proud that I will be moving to FL...
  17. Or you can just get the kit from Advance for around $100. I did the inside of my M1009 Blazer with it and it turned out great.
  18. Ha ha! You started something now. You better hide under that chair. Lol.
  19. Yep takes AK mags from the factory and is made by Norinco.
  20. If TN only had concealed carry with no punishment for accidental exposure, we might. Scares the sheep to think that people would be carrying guns where they can see them unless there is a police badge next to it.
  21. The trust has to come first so that you may list the trust as the owners of the NFA items.
  22. So it did turn out to be a Mother's Day present after all....
  23. Walked in the other day and they had this on the shelf. Had just come out of pawn so I snatched it up.
  24. Used suppressors are probably not going to happen. When you figure in the tax stamps back and forth, plus you don't know what the previous owner did with it, no dealer is going to take in a used suppressor, let alone try to sell one with the liability involved. You MIGHT be able to get a used one from a range that rents them out like On Target in M'Boro, but I can just about guarantee they will only be selling it since it would be worn out.
