  1. Did you say the Firecracker 400 ? Hurry and get back to the TV..............Cale Yarborough just slingshotted around Benny Parsons and Bobby Allison !!!
  2. permit aside...........let's just talk about common sense. I diplomatically tell my HCP students that if they can't put 33 holes in the paper, in broad daylight, on a standing still paper target that is not moving or shooting back.............a gun may not be the defensive option for them. I do believe there should be some minimum level of competency and proficiency with the handgun, particularly safety. If you're in a gunfight with a BG and you shoot yourself.................you're still SHOT !
  3. Restaurant carry. Thanks Speaker Naifeh !!
  4. you can afford it. you're such a tightwad when you pull a dollar bill out of your wallet, George Washington blinks at the light.
  5. Congrats on the buy. A 19 is my next purchase. Might I ask what they're going for at G&L ?
  6. A young guy in one of my HCP classes had one. I touched off a few rounds with it.............felt good in my hand and the trigger was a lot smoother than I was expecting. BTW.......this guy bought his gun pre-owned from a gun shop in the Smokies (store name withheld). No box, no manual, 1 magazine................$ 400 + tax/tics. He asked what I thought..........I said "they saw you coming"
  7. 642 in DeSantis Nemesis - front pocket. P3AT in DeSantis Nemesis - front pocket. Me too either. If you come up with a great way.....let me know.
  8. you owe me new retinas
  9. I saw this on their schedule a while back. On one hand, l'd drop nearly a grand on tuition, gas, ammo, and gear. On the other hand, it's Awerbuck. and who knows when he'll be this close again.

    GLOCK 25

Is there any lawful way for a U.S. citizen/resident to acquire a GLOCK Model 25 (.380 caliber) ? And why are they effectively banned in the U.S. ? Does it have something to do with what % of the pistol is or is not manufactured or assembled in the United States ? Could GLOCK not produce them in Smyrna to be able to sell them on the U.S. market ?
  11. This is quite true.
  12. Looks like the "Nanny" will be next for me. August, maybe. As for the banjer music........I'll be out before the sun sets.
  13. Soooo.........I went WWR today for the first time. And I think I love it. Went down the Middle Ocoee with a guide company. Now I think I want to buy my own gear, maybe take a class, do different rivers, etc. Anybody on here a WWR aficionado ? Any "tips...pointers...ad - vice..." ? (We Are Marshall)
  14. Always good to see Todd all dressed up.
  15. Well, if it gets to where (and in California, it probably will) Ramar needs a legal defense fund.......Big Poppa's writing a check !!
  16. Eddie, I was just told about this Saturday night by Todd@CIS. Although I never met either you or your wife, I was stunned by the tragic circumstances. May God bless you and your in-laws during this time.
  17. This is why I tell my HCP classes to start by telling the officer "I have a Carry Permit......" as opposed to "I have a gun.........."
  18. Has the location for the 2009 Annual Meetings been announced yet ?
  19. I have imbibed a few there myself. Always heard you drink in Florida, then have to go back to the Alabama side of the line to pee. But I think somebody was pullin' my leg
  20. Yeah the Interstate Mullet Toss at the Flora-Bama bar on the state line. For the uninitiated, it's a contest (and excuse for a party) where revelers literally throw dead mullet (fish) across the state line from Florida into Alabama. Prizes awarded in divisions for longest toss.
  21. The wife & I go twice a year at least. Last count was 12 times. Needless to say, we love it. We just got back Saturday from the Spring trip. Don't go back until the fall, so I thought if I can't be there, I can talk about it with others who've been or provide some advice to those who might be going for the first time. So.......how 'bout it ? Any other GS'ers out there ?
  22. Kahr incentive purchase program for CCW instructors..... http://www.three-peaks.net/kahr_handgun_instructor_program.pdf
