  1. Take a look at John M.L. Brown. He is an attorney and firearms instructor. He is on retainer by the Nashville FOP Chapter for their LEO involved shooting incidents. John is our kind of people. www.prifirearmstraining.com
  2. When I go to look up prior feedback for a member, I get a screen with one line comments and (more info) next to them. When I click on (more info) , it gives me a screen that says I am not authorized to view this material or some such as that. so.......................WTD ?
  3. Looooong story short, we ordered new laptops in July from Dell. They have built-in Verizon wirless service. IT SUCKS...........but Dell blames Verizon, and vice versa. This has been dragging out since August. Frequent disconnects, and slow speeds are 2 of the problems. Customer Service at either place (of course) has not been able or willing to fix it. (Verizon SEEMED like they tried harder to actually figure it out). So if: a) You work for, or have a contact at, either Dell or Verizon you are a computer internet server technology wizard c) you have had the same problem I describe and think you might can help, please PM me. I would really appreciate it.
  4. "Interviewed" both candidates today for the 48th District State Representative race (48 covers about half of Rutherford County) Result - BigPoppa endorses Joe Carr ® for State Representative. Met Tim Tipps (D) this morning briefly. I asked him if he planned to re-elect Jimmy Naifeh as Speaker, and mentioned the Restaurant Carry bill as one example of my anti-Naifeh sentiment. Mr. Tipps said he hadn't won yet, and Naifeh hadn't been re-elected to his seat yet, and he (Mr. Tipps) hadn't made any commitments so far. He also seemed unfamiliar with the Handgun Carry legislation, and the committee process by which Speaker Naifeh continues to kill pro RKBA legislation. Mr. Tipps struck me as unwilling to go against Naifeh, and uncomfortable discussing the issues I brought up. I was very calm, and methodical but Mr. Tipps seemed very uneasy with me, and quickly took his leave before I could speak to him about any further issues. After this meeting, I called Mr. Tipps' opponent, Joe Carr, and invited him to the house. He came over and we spent 30 minutes at my kitchen table. He assured me that he absolutely WOULD NOT vote to keep Naifeh as Speaker, and that he WOULD vote for the restaurant carry bill. Mr. Carr seemed generally supportive of HCP carry in State Parks with a disclaimer of depending on how the specific language of the bill read. "The less restrictive, the better" was his exact quote (or very close to it) on HCP matters. Mr. Carr also told me that he had won the endorsement of the NRA, although I have not independently verified that yet. (Edit - The NRA PVF website confirms that Joe has been endorsed, and given an "A" grade) Mr. Carr asked if he had won my vote. I told him that he had, but he should rest assured that I was not a "vote it and forget it" constituent. If he didn't keep his word when and if he got to Nashville, I'd be watching and I would call him on it. So there it is District 48 TGO'ers.........Joe Carr for State Representative. Pro 2nd Amendment, Anti Naifeh, and he looked me in the eye when he talked to me. www.joecarr48.com
  5. Phantom's right.......we'll never gid rid of Naifeh....so we have to make enough changes so he's no longer the Speaker.
  6. Cop I can understand. What I don't get is why Lisa married YOU !!
  7. Yeah....good thing cops aren't known for .........er........never mind. I now return you to your regular programming.
  8. So, are the same mods working on both sites ? And do posts automatically duplicate both places ? or have I got to post the same thing twice...once on each site ?
  9. Okay, I know over at thehighroad.org they had a power struggle/coup/hijacking...whatever... but now I see there's a thehighroad.us looks like the same format, same people, same threads......so what's the deal ?
  10. I am envisioning something involving Lisa's inventory.
  11. Made with only the finest quality peckers & lips.
  12. Mahi mahi tacos at LuLu's in Gulf Shores, Alabama. delicious AND nutritious:koolaid:
  13. I don't think Todd quite "jumped down the guy's throat". He made his statement a little strong maybe, but I see his point. Ugrey (twice), whether intentional or not, implied that RangeMaster didn't cover some material he felt like should have been covered. That happens, and then it's incumbent upon the student to bring it up. We have students in class 11 or 12 hours. We cover a lot. But we can't answer every question every time, unless it's brought to our attention. We have to rely on the students to fill in the gaps of bringing up what we've missed or didn't explain clearly enough.
  14. First of all, I can't abide by this statement. I pay to take training, and I am paid by others to provide training for them. In both instances, you MAKE time for questions. Especially on a topic like HCP, it's just too crucial for any question to go unasked. Any instructor who says, suggests, or implies...either verbally or by body language...that there's "no time in class for questions"....I would strongly recommend staying away from that trainer. It's your money, and more importantly, your safety.
  15. Yes, as long as you have a valid HCP, carry two. More if you like. You're perfectly legal to do so. Remember Murphy's Law and think "Two guns is one, and one gun is none."
  16. Tennessee law allows you the presumption of harmful intent by unauthorized persons in your home. There exists no duty to retreat in your own home. Later tonight (possibly tomorrow - computer problems) I will post the link.
  17. I'd pick up a couple. Velc.....er., hook and loop....would probably be better.
  18. The show was in Robertsdale at the fairgrounds. Not a big show, but decent. Long guns galore......... Weather has been perfect so far................we come twice a year; love it here.
  19. Jeffrey Barnett passed away this morning. He was the stepfather of Casey McClure (NoBling on TGO). Some of you may also know Casey from the TennesSpeed forums. Casey's dad also underwent heart surgery last week. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Casey's a good kid.

    Where to go

Welcome to Tennessee and to TGO. Try the Stones River Hunter Education Center on Hobson Pike south of Nashville. It's well run, clean, new(ish), and affordable. It's operated by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. If nobody posts a link in the next little while, I'll come back and add one.
  21. IIRC, TDR is the frickin' KING of Hot Babes with Guns pics.

  23. So we're in Gulf Shores on vacation. I noticed where there was a gun show a few miles down the road, so we stopped by. I ended up acquiring a Winchester Model 1200 pump gun. Wood furniture, decent + finish, clean, and a smooth action. Dealer says it's a retired Corrections gun. OTD..........$ 150. Unable to post pics right now, but how'd I do shotgun guys ?
  24. Interesting.......can you elaborate on why this is your opinion ? I've got 240 or so HCP alumni who'll tell you that a 2 day class worked out just right for them.....they feel they got a little more than they paid for, they weren't rushed and the new shooters weren't overwhelmed, and they got to shoot more than just 48 rounds. .....and + 1 robbiev
