  4. Hearty and sincere congratulations !!! Soooo........eating less, eating better, and exercising can help you lose weight ? Who knew ? :D Seriously, great job and I would do well to adopt some of your new good habits. Godspeed on the last 55. Keep us posted.
  5. Here's my old friends "they" passing out their wisdom again. Short answer......no, under Tennessee law. If my gun is in the glove box of my car, it's still "in my possession".
  6. 2 guns is 1, and 1 gun is none.
  7. Bryan, Before you spend the $$$ on a smithy, send Todd@CIS a PM. He's an XD armorer, and might be able to walk you thru the fix. He's a decent enough guy.

  12. I'd like to wish a Happy New Year to all my TGO friends and colleagues. For those who had a rough 2008, keep your head up and have faith that '09 will be better. And know that you're among friends here. If you're celebrating tonight, please do so safely - at home, call a cab, or have a DD ready. And if you're celebrating in Rutherford County, take steps to make sure I don't meet you when I go to work Friday morning. All the best, Bo
  13. Stun Gun ? No. You have to (literally) be in arm's reach, and the traditional stun gun does little to deter an attacker. Taser is a better choice, but more expensive and some training would be in order. Taser does give a standoff capability of 21 feet, and if the probes miss or get pulled out, it can be used close-in like a stun gun. Pepper Spray is a good bet, but get a law enforcement grade product - not the stuff that Dollar General sells that contains black pepper and water. Defense sprays usually are more handy to carry, and concealable. ASP baton or similar requires training and certification to be legal, and again you have to be very close range to deploy. Whatever they carry, especially handgun, DON'T let them carry it in their purse !!!! 90%+ of women will never be able to reach their purseborne defensive weapon in time to prevent an attack. And make sure they always have a cell phone on them.
  14. This sounds cool for some reason !
  15. Funny you mention this - my Dad is buying him one and me one. We'll see how it goes. I can't/won't eat stuff like celery, onions, bell peppers, etc. but maybe I'll drink it.

  18. 39-17-1322. Defenses. — A person shall not be charged with or convicted of a violation under this part if the person possessed, displayed or employed a handgun in justifiable self-defense or in justifiable defense of another during the commission of a crime in which that person or the other person defended was a victim. [Acts 1994, ch. 943, § 1.] Note- this is the legal defense, not necessarily the best tactical response.
  19. Welcome aboard fellow 'Boroan.

    Smith 5906

I've never had a problem with CDNN.
  21. And available in the much maligned .380 caliber, which GLOCK can't import, and Hi-Point makes in, apparently, a cordless drill variation.

    Smith 5906

I have the 5903 (alloy frame variant). It was an Atlanta Police trade-in gun. I've had zero problems with mine. It was one of my first "big boy" guns and it's been through 3 HCP classes and 2 Firearms Instructor schools. I'll + 1 the mention of www.summitgunbroker.com. I've seen 3rd generation Smiths on there for much better prices. Lots of LEO trade-ins.
  23. Dude, I am like a bottle of fine wine........the older I get , the smoother I get
  24. Happy Birthday, yo ! You know Big Poppa hit 3-6 on Christmas Day
  25. In the close-ups, note the empty chair immediately behind "Rep. Haller" over his left shoulder. In the wide shots..............no empty chair. I call photoshop f**kstickery horse .
