  1. am I mentioned in the will?
  2. I'm a big M&P fan. If you don't plan on any after market upgrades, then PC is a good choice. If you plan on after market upgrades, go standard 2.0, Get Apex duty or comp trigger and Apex barrel. Very reliable and will last a long time. If you are going to add a dot, don't waste money on hard sights. To complicate matters, Don't overlook Canik.
  3. Nope, but some states frown on people carrying guns.....probably the same ones.
  4. i would be very leery of carrying a product that resembles a gun.
  5. Early on Branca carried Sabre Red. Small, convenient and has multiple spray capability. I have canisters available at front door, autos, at work, and usually in pocket. According to stats, 5x more likely to need it rather than firearm… plus generally not a felony and mistakes easily rectified. Handy when walking dogs. From personal experience, works well on one bear I used it on.
  6. Agree, but can’t fix stupid on either side of the equation
  7. that is essentially the current law now when storing a firearm on school grounds. No different than leaving a wallet, cell phone, or purse in plain view.....simply stupid to do so. Also noted that a law last year increased the penalty for stealing a firearm.
  8. Nice buy. If you really get bitten by the sporting bug, look at the 725 30” bbl.
  9. A300 beretta outlander. Semiautomatic will soften some of the recoil. I believe they come with shims to reduce lop if needed. Will last for many years.
  10. not suprising and one should avoid carrying a firearm if that's the case anyway. In fact, illegal to do so in TN.
  11. poly coated bullets would be a good alternative to Lead cast. Seems to me that a jacketed soft point would be a good choice.
  12. Your son is an exceptional example, your input, training is what separates him from the norm. Society as a whole had to live with the other end of the spectrum- regardless of age.
  13. In this case, stupidity has no age restriction. Plenty of older adults do the same thing everyday, one of the reasons I support training/education. And yes, it is a felony, and financially devastating.
  14. While reading the above references, understand the difference between force and deadly force. Two different things. Force may be referred to as mere force.
  15. Unconstitutional in one state would eventually mean all states....need to have some added privilege to the ECP hoping to encourage training to those that understand the need for it.
  16. No, but would be nice if we did.
  17. A little bit of / on Casado. He didn’t go to trial, which saved him a ton of money. In FL there is a “Self Defense Immunity” law which worked like it was designed for. Still not cheap, but a bargain in this case. Another good example where Avoidance reigns supreme.
  18. It will be hard to get a definite answer from your HO insurance. Doesn't mean you can't ask, but don't be surprised if you get a 'it depends" answer. Also, in TN, if you have an adjudicated case of SD, you cannot be sued by the other party in a civil case. Does not mean an inocent bystander/victim couldn't sue you though.
  19. Buy a Dan Wesson first, doubt you will have to buy another one. 45 traditional, 9mm more fun and will shoot it more.
  20. Chris Vittetoe 865=237=2547
  21. without more details, impossible to address actions and reactions. A reasonably safe way to enter a garage is with an automatic opener, staying in your locked car, and closing the door behind your car with the opener as you sit in your locked car. Still one is vulnerable to attack with a gun pointed at you waiting for the door to open or close. Not everyone has an automatic opener. Elderly couples may have additional handicaps. No one is invincable.
  22. all shots after the initial 4 seem unnecessary to me. If he called 911 at that point, we wouldn't have this conversation.
  23. Probably not a bit. If a reasonable person would perceive it as a 'gun' then that is really the bottom line.
  24. Golden rod, couple times a year wipe all guns down with Hornady One Shot, Store in silicone treated cloth sleeves.
  25. Certainly glad for your favorable outcome…but it sucks knowing your future lies in the hands of others. That is why studying all one can about SD helps one from being in that situation. Learning by experience is not the preferred method. Unfortunately, most people now charged with felony assault thought they were doing the right thing and never fired a shot. Avoidance is the # 1 plan. I would rather take a butt whooping than pull my gun, that will heal faster than my bank account.
