Not entirely correct. Carry laws are the sole responsibility of the State. (TCA 39-12-1314 ) The change you refer to has to do with a lawsuit Knoxville filed. To circumvent the suit, if the City wants to prohibit carry these procedures are noted by law to be legal TCA 39-17-1359(g)(1). These laws were to prevent a patchwork of varying laws across the state. Memphis has to follow this as well. As noted previously, school functions take precedence in public parks across the state

one may carry with either the CCP or the ECP in any park, county, city, state or national. If a school is having an event at the park, then one must leave, or store your handgun in your vehicle, locked and out of sight.

wanted Semi-auto 12ga for casual sporting clays
chances R replied to Fencersms's topic in Firearms Classifieds
I shoot a Browning 425, wouldn’t swap it even for anything else. But I did shoot my friend’s o/u mossberg- gold reserve. Very nice gun for the money and a good shooter. If you are shooting clays, stay away from the yildez. Will loosen up fairly quickly. If only used occasionally, then it would be ok. -
Anyone heard when the new company down in Houston is going to start production of primers? This is about ridiculous.
-
yep, about cheap enough for me to buy ammo, pull the bullets and punch the primers for my reloads

not my circus, not my monkey. Thanks for shopping, have a nice day. Local Tractor Supply employee got shot and died over a box of bullets....

I have taken several classes with Randy Harris aka Cruel Hand Luke. He has trained with some of the best in the industry and I highly recommend him.

Looking for good places to go hiking in gear
chances R replied to ValkyrieRoo's topic in Training Discussions
IMO the rifle is your limitation. TN offers multiple oppurtunities for hiking, but doing so on WMAs with a rifle, especially during hunting season would interfere with legimate hunters...not cool. -
Grand Juries and DAs change, so does one's location such as out of state. Bad guys pick the time and place. Control all factors that one can; choice of ammo is one of those choices. Premium ammo cost is minimal vs. attorney fees.

stored in a dry controlled area, should be good. I am using Unique for pistol loads that is at least 12yrs old.

I would suggest that the HP argument is very weak as you presented. Easily defended, by the LEO use and prevention of shoot throughs.. FMJ are subject to needing more shots, more risk plus the concern for shoot through and additional criminal/civil liability. Keep in mind FMJ can shoot through 9 layers of drywall. I would urge you to attend and document training that discusses this and other issues.

Reciprocity would be an issue. Would eventually see the ECP having some additional privilge, as a way to encourage usefulness and training.

love 1911's .....hate the problems, thus carry M&P shield.
-
hopefully I will never have to experience actual performance in my reloads. Yes, I have a few hundred rounds of reloaded XTPs. but I will trust the factory results and buy in kind. Carry what local LEO uses or FBI recomendations. Those tests will stand in court if necessary. Won't invite or create a rabbit hole for a prosecuter.

not always practical. Some have children and must go to school functions. Some enjoy high school games, concerts, etc. Post Office is also a no go for firearms.

Range USA had the same ammo for $10. I was headed to the local shop until I read the fine print (Houston, TX) Limit 3 boxes

I suggest that he is gripping with the thumbs, and there should not be any pressure on the thumbs at all. If the grip is firm there should not be movement to slap the thumbs, especially in 9mm. Probably best to get with a good instructor to help. Will save experimentation and possibly developing a flinch that will be problamatic. I'll check the RangeMaster roster to see if there is one in your area. I know there are several in Nashville.

Chinese "weather" balloon floating over the US
chances R replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
I've just ordered a case of assault balloons before Biden outlaws them. -
Look at pictures of any of the top shooters' forearms.....they are tight with well defined muscles. This is from a firm, very tight grip. Maximum force short of tremor. This is the most easily repeatable grip. One cannot consistently apply 'lighter' grip. To help maximize one's grip, the small finger on both hands has to be really in play as well. Shake hands with someone using and then NOT using the small finger. Grip strength is almost 20% greater when you make the small finger really work. This also helps prevent milking the grip and pulling shots....mostly to the left. Additionally, if you don't really clamp down with the support hand, your gun has less left sided resistance and will tend to migrate to that side. After good rounds of practice, either dry or live, your forearms should feel some fatigue due to the work required for grip. Also keep the thumbs loose, another common cause of pushing the gun. Consistent thumb pressure just can't happen...leave them loose, flopping in the wind so to speak.
