    Weapon Light

Been looking at the Holosun PID......any feedback
  3. ML, glad you referenced the AG opinion. My understanding is as you have explained in the stated situations.
  4. Can't legally carry on school grounds....state and federal law. Weapon can be in auto, out of sight.
  5. As I said earlier, signs have the force of law, pay attention to them. Monkeylizard noted that Federal Bldgs are generally a no go. One has to read the laws. USCCA has a pretty good synopsis. Different for those with permits vs. Permitless carry. Take a class and/or do your research. This ain't CA.
  6. if you have a permit, pay attention to the legal posting referred to by peejman. Additionally, cannot carry on school grounds or any area that a school event is held, park or otherwise. Jails, courthouse, post office. that takes care of most places.
  7. Excellent deal and perfect carry gun
  8. The Enhanced class is 8 hrs, and will cover all the things you think you don't need....and you have to pass a written test.
  9. See Joe at Wood Bros. out in Halls. I've can vouch for his work on stocks.
  10. paid around $1000 out the door for my darkside......local dealer. Only one they had
  11. simply watch some you tube reviews
  12. longevity...resistance to show wear. Otherwise, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
  13. I have the dark side- really like it. Good heft which really aids double taps. So far super reliable. Will probably make my game M&Ps spend more time in the safe
  14. Take a look at the Canik Rival -all steel. Really nice and with some heft. My M&Ps are going to get lonely.
  15. IMO if one has a permit, one can carry at world fair park and convention center- unless posted and wand/search is conducted at all entrances.
  16. Just a thought.....does engaging an unkown group of thugs/thieves worth the risk of death? Most of us have insurance. Should you risk it all and leave the safety of your home? What about your family? What if you engage and shoot and wind up being charged for murder? Would it not be best to stay inside and call the cops? I'm not saying your answer is right or wrong.........just food for thought. \
  17. Due to Supreme Court ruling, it is my understanding that the AG issued an opinion that 18 yo would not be prosecuted for carrying a Handgun. There are several exceptions such as no DUIs, no treatment for drug/alcohol etc. There are multiple legal concerns regarding the use of firearms and that is one of the reasons I recommend the ECP course for anyone wanting to carry.

  19. According to Branca, the intentional display of a weapon to modify someone's behavior could be classified as aggravated assault. Essentially, presenting one's firearm should met all criteria necessary to shoot someone to prevent serious bodily injury and/or death. The mere presentation could result in a felony charge of aggravated assault. Simple defense of this charge can cost thousands of dollars and at worse several years in jail.
  20. The involuntary commitment, as I understand it, starts a mental health evaluation. If warranted, continued treatment is initiated. If not person is released. He speaks of 'depriving' someone of their liberties...what about the gunowner who is maliciously attacked via the RFL? Not worried about their liberties? Additionally, the RFL does not start any mental health eval or treatment, nor does it tae the person off the street to prevent other forms of violence.
  21. Wash rinse repeat.....48.4 or 48.6 Depends on repeatable results, and then velocity , especially if for hunting.
  22. If shot high in the groin or proximal thigh, tourniquet may not be an option.
  23. To elaborate, the 2.0 is better out of the box than the 1.0. I have Apexed about 10 of them for myself and others to include the compacts. It is not necessary, but certainly helpful as are Ameriglo front sights. I recently bought the Competitor, sold it after a couple of weeks; just could not compare with my Apexed 1.0 with Comp trigger and match barrel. I would say you get what you pay for but the Competitor is way over priced IMO. I still have several stock M&P of several flavors that work just fine....but my 'game guns' are juiced a little.
  24. Apex is much better
  25. I highly recommend Randy as well.
