  1. Without a"guilty conscious" seems to be reasonable amount of time.
  2. IMO....Rude, especially with the number of legal carriers.

Yep, good guns and sure you will enjoy. 9 or 45?
  4. 50 shots total. 20 @ 9ft., 20 @ 15 ft., 10 @ 21 ft. Shots in the "yellow" zone count 2 pts each. In the blue 1 pt. 70 pts or better to pass.
  5. May carry while bow hunting........http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/newshound/2010/03/tennessee-bowhunters-may-pack-heat
  6. For the most part you are talking about two different weapons. Yes, of course something can serve dual purposes, but shotgun or AR for home. Carry? Anything that will let you get to your trunk for another Shotgun or AR to engage spies. Don't need a permit for either one in that case.
  7. Apples and Oranges, different subject. I respect those who respect volunteer to protect our Country. It sets them apart from the crowd. A line has to be drawn somewhere; that's where I draw mine.
  8. I will second the move for quality instruction. Randy is a great source and is 'near-by". I am a big fan of Front Sight training. The same as GunSite and some others mentioned. There are a lot of instructors that teach tactical shooting; in my experience many gloss over the basics and again in my opinion a big mistake. That is the foundation of your shooting and a component in your foundation of shooting. Lousy foundation and you will never reach your goals. You would be surprised, and especially those that have shot for years, how important your foundation is. I have taken a lot of classes, but only a couple really emphasize the importance of grip, stance, balance, 'aiming', trigger pull, etc. It will eventually show up down range, for better or worse.
  9. And here is the other side to the story. Heck of a shot though. 90yds and over his backyard for 2 seconds. http://my.xfinity.com/video/man-describes-flight-path-of-drone-in-kentucky-dispute/496275523734/Comcast/NBCNews_new?cid=hero_sf_weird
  10.     Because they took the Oath to uphold the constitution for starters.  The right is not denied to those 21 and over, which 21 use to be the age of majority until 1970 I believe.  On the other hand, chances are they are more qualified than the average citizen.  If they have  shot qualification and have the document that proves such; if not then simply make an exception until they do so.
  11. Or not. Or possibly be startled and inadvertently press the gas, not the brake.
  12. Yeah, you may have a point.  So let's just move the age of majority back to 21....and that may still be too early in some cases.
  13.   Plenty of Jr. shooters have shot a lot more than you, but that doesn't mean they can carry a handgun.  Soldiers learn responsibility and accountability.  Don't confuse that with rounds down range.  I'm glad you shoot and like clays.  I have worn out two shotguns and thought I could shoot a pistol until I did some formal training with pistols.  Whole different ballgame, let alone the responsibility carrying one around most of the time.  By the way, plenty of folks beyond the 'arbitrary age' are still not responsible and for that matter probably shouldn't even vote.
  14. IF the 18yo is in the military I would go along with it. Otherwise most are still living at home and I wouldn't trust. Con. Carry is aways off. I think the sign law needs changed.
  15. So really.......?  Slapping a car makes it stop? How?  I would definitely spend my time and energy removing myself and child out of the way.  Remember an armed society is a polite society and we are surrounded by idiots.  If you carry, it is assumed you have the brains and maturity to avoid confrontation.  The OP made a mistake by not being apologetic as others have suggested.  Brief and get the heck away.  If the pedestrian was 'drunk' call 911 and let the LEO have the extended conversation.
  16. I favor and have routinely used a versacarry for my M&P shield for at least two years.
  17. So in the name of training for a 'what if' situation we break well known safety protocol and endanger brother, sister, husband, and wives??? There is an old saying that goes; just because you have to enter a shit eating contest doesn't mean you have to practice for it.
  18. IMO for simplicity and size the LCP is hard to beat.  There are several guns that are better looking, have better sights and triggers, but for a pocket gun and close range self-defense why 'over think' the thing.  Simple, inexpensive, effective and very convenient means LCP to me.
  19. From a safety perspective Unique is hard to mess up in a 9mm,  don't know about the others.
  20. Would be much cheaper solution in the long run
  21. Looks like to me she got what exactly what she is asking for.........justice was served.
  22. I am pretty fond of Unique
  23. I had one. Very similar in size to the s&w shield. Shot great for a while then started giving lite primer strikes. This became more frequent. Sent back to Taurus. They tried new striker assembly.....no help. New barrel, again no help. Now after 6 wks I am getting impatient. They sent me a new pistol which I sold immediately. No more Taurus for me especially for a defensive gun. Your milage may vary, but I can't trust them.
