  1. With a full mag and a loaded chamber the Shield can be tough to seat the full mag.  Very normal, just takes a very firm / sudden slam of the mag.  Some full size guns are like this as well and many advocate not topping off the high cap mags just for this reason.  But in a small low cap gun, like the shield, I feel better with a full house.  Just takes a little effort.  As to the issue of the slide release, pull back slighty on the slide and push the slide lock and as you do so let go of the slide.  I think after some usage that issue will go away.  Have no trouble with mine.  I think your real test will be how you shoot it.  IMO, the shield is the best small, good pointing SD gun.  If you shoot it well I think you can adapt to the other small issues.
  2.   Well at least one can easily get a permit in this State.  There are others where it is next to impossible.
  3. Tactical Advantage off Lovell Rd.  $45
  4. I have done it a whole bunch with shotgun primers......only a few times with pistol.  Never had an issue doing so.  But do go slowly and make sure you have your glasses on.  Things are made to explode you know.
  5. This also raises the question of boats with cabins, houseboats, yachts, etc. Essentially a residence. I have done some searching but can't find anything definitive. Becomes an argument of vehicle vs. Abode?
  6. Ditto what BigK said.  Xtreme is a quality bullet and I have not had any problems.  But, I do reload with lead data.  If you need hotter stuff, might as well go Precision Delta bullets for almost the same price for a quality FMJ.
  7. I will add that I have handled a couple out of the box R1 s   which have had very nice triggers.
  8. Can best be identified at 'arms-length'.
  9. I've had an R1 since they came out.  I have attended two classes shooting on average 600 rounds over 4 days each.  Not a hiccup with factory ammo.  No parts fell off, excellent reliability.  It is not my fanciest 1911, but given the several thousand rounds it has shot it is my most reliable.
  10. The MS is a sometimes very dangerous river. And most 16 foot boats won't handle it. You need to work on some W TN contacts. Most prime duck hunting has long been spoken for. May be able to find a lease. Very hard to free lance on Reelfoot. Best advice is a guide and this will increase your safety and bag.
  11. Time to get it tested.  Go ahead and carry....we'll be rooting for ya
  12. It generally takes a specific policy to cover most shooting situations.  Better check with your carrier.  Don't assume your homeowner liability will do so.
  13. Congrats and thanks for the report.
  14.  ?  Federal Property
  15. Good info Dolo. Not only is that important but look at the 'chicken little' reaction of 'blood in the streets' with any pro-gun legislation. It didn't happen with initial permits, Nat'l parks, State parks, guns-in-bars, guns-in-trunks, etc.,etc. As pointed out, fear mongering and control....NOT facts!
  16. Yeah, so in the meantime SHTF. What am I supposed to do....call time out?!?! I am sure the bad guy will wait till the cops arrive.
  17. The problem with regular glasses and most sunglasses is that there is no protection from the side.  Wrap-arounds are best and some sunglasses do this very well with good quality lens.  For the best protection, don't compromise.
  18.   Absolutely.
  19. M&P fan, the household has 6 or 7.  No problems.  Glocks are fine pistols, but a lot of folks feel the same way you do.  Looking to switch and it is usually to the MP.
  20.   That is correct, but he saw him walk out of the store.  Add to that, helmet on, possible underage?  Don't know.  Same ol' thing, open carry is going to get you attention you don't want or need IMO.   To EssOne, doesn't matter as long as you are on your MC, but out in public, and it is still on you when you dismount, I would think you are now carrying w/o a permit.  Sort of a tricky situation.
  21. To my reading, in post #73, possession of a handgun without a permit is a misdemeanor.
  22. Nope. I fully agree. Bad things can happen.
  23. Sorry, with all that police have to go through now, I see no problem with him disarming someone as his prerogative. In fact, bet it is not routine but the exception. Small issue, not like an army coming to your home to confiscate your weapons.
  24. NEVER<<NEVER<<<never break down a Ruger MK pistol until it stops functioning.....then do the upgrades
  25. I was never stopped until I started posting on TGO! Where is my tin foil hat?
