  1. Was a good choice. Already happy with the platform so why change? Now he can ponder on which 1911 to buy for some variety!
  2. If it gets so bad I have to use all I have loaded...........well, you all can have it!  I don't want to be here.
  3. If you are set on a pump hard to do much better than the Wingmaster. An older model Winchester 1200 is a smooth, dependable choice as well.
  4. Some have trouble in progressive presses with feeding issues.  Try a few hundred before jumping in.
  5. They evidently teach firing warning shots all the time in New York  http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/cops-fire-84-shots-at-robbery-suspect-hit-him-once-police/ar-AAdWWsv?ocid=iehp
  6. I have the DW Specialist. No regrets. Couldn't imagine anything smoother or more accurate.
  7. .....and maybe it was the perps lucky day, the good guy should say he was so shook up that he simply missed with the shot. That may have sobered up the attacker and the threat ceased. Best result for both parties.
  8. Sort of stupid to bring a club to a gun fight.
  9. M&P compact .22
  10. Been there, done that. I prepared by donning full face shield. Yeah went pop but no damage. It is a little surprising that the wooden dowel ignited the primer. I hate surprises like that......load on
  11. I hope most people who take the HCP course are told by their instructors that it is NOT a shooting class.  The primary goal is to inform the student of the current Laws of the State of TN.  There should also be a significant emphasis on gun safety.  I do give some very basic gun handling/shooting instruction, but nothing that I would consider adequate to a basic shooting course.  There simply is not enough time in an 8 hour course.  I do strongly encourage all shooters to seek out training; preferably at least once a year and shoot at least once a month.  Unfortunately most are not 'gun' people and never do so.  It really boils down to the responsibility of the gun owner, but as noted, most simply just don't know what they don't know.
  12. The best and most important info you have been given on this topic
  13. Another happy LNL user here.  I would jump on Hozzie's deal.  I thought about it even though I own one already.  I am perfectly happy with mine, and I use to own a 1050.  Customer service has been 1st rate.  I do not use a case or bullet feeder.  Really no need.  I can load more than I can shoot easily.
  14. In my experience dawn doesn't add any benefit. Agree with minimal amount of lemishine.
  15. Not near as much as shooting and reloading it,.....No.
  16. I have used it for 4 yrs now.  One time purchase of the SS media.  No dust.  IMO no need to deprime  before tumbling unless you are making truly match-grade ammo and I am not sure that would make any difference.  There is no cleaner brass and it is simple to do.  Plus has to be healthier as there is no dust to breathe.  Would not change if someone gave me any other set-up.
  17. Gander Mtn. has a nice line of flashlights.  I have several that rate 220 lumens.  Not expensive and have used them for 4 to 5 yrs. now.
  18. For the most part that area is a different country. Travelers beware.
  19. Given the info and circumstances as presented, Cody did the right thing.  Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do; and maybe suffer the consequences.....unfairly.  IMO he has my support.  Sounds like a solid kid in the interview.
  20. Nope just hang on to them. Nice to look at.......Of course size 5 shot doesn't have a big calling around TN unless you are hunting rabbits or going after some bigger upland birds in the mid West. Don't waste them on clays. Now the 9's, well again an old shell; up to you for the skeet range.
  21. My daughter went, chose to leave handgun in car.  She was searched for no other reason than looking for a weapon.
  22. No wonder the amphibian population boomed with frog lube....
  23. Same here exactly........I told him a non-vote wasn't acceptable, simply gives support to the anti's.  I voted for him because he told me he was a 2nd Amendment supporter........so is Haslam, but  both have an odd way of showing it.
  24. skeet and dove shooting are high volume shooting. As such, you will be much happier with a gas-operated gun which inherently reduces recoil.  The Remington 1100 or the Beretta 300/400 series guns will serve you well.  Don't buy the 'clones'.  If you can find a Beretta 390/391 those are exceptional guns as well.  Avoid the Franchi and Benelli  primarily due to their lite weight.  If you check around, Argentina dove outfitters generally use the Beretta due to the properties I pointed out with high volume shooting.  You will also have a quality gun to hand down or for resell.
  25. Could be except for (f). Seems clearly stated to me.
