  1. Another good T shirt! Plus all the time and effort in training and practice........who wants to be in a hurry to put their gun up?
  2. Rude, stupid, careless.... :censored:
  3. Will say I loaded some SPP 45. No problems, except when I am trying to load LPP and they sneak in.
  4. Good to know. Thanks. The letter is helpful and will keep a copy.
  5. Still the question of whether the EO the gov. issued is in effect. The bill that passed/signed doesn't go into effect until 7/1/16. Can't find anything that is conclusive.
  6. SHADE + TREES = no grass. Will be frustrating and waste of money. do what peejman said.
  7. Another 700 fan in 308
  8. I have used FrogLube my way and by the book..........poor results either way.  I have used all the other oils for limited times.  I keep coming back to Mobil 1 5/30.  No problems.  Use Hornady One Shot to clean/lube trigger assembly etc.
  9. None really if you exclude the 5" pro. Buy the standard and get Apex duty kit. Look at different sights. I am fond of warren rear sight and dalton fiber optic front.
  10. In TN the Castle Doctrine applies to your car.  Anyone 18 yrs of age or older may carry a loaded weapon in their car.....with or without a permit as long as they a legally able to do so.  Meaning not a felon, consuming alcohol..etc.
  11. Which ever you are comfortable with.  My fastest reload with a 1911 is with my support thumb.  The thumb is in the neighborhood after seating the mag and re-establishing the grip without having to manipulate my firing hand/grip.  On my M&P....the majority of the time the slide closes with seating the mag, and if it doesn't the above applies.
  12. I have had the RO at Bud's help collect my brass.  But policies do vary from range to range.  IMO Ranges need to make money by providing a safe place to shoot, selling ammo, guns, etc. and let people collect their own brass if they chose to do so.  Those that reload tend to show up at the ranges much more frequently because they generally shoot more.  Both parties benefit.
  13. And I didn't know this.  Honorably discharged from service with DD214 in hand gets you a discount on your initial HCP.   https://www.tn.gov/safety/article/handgunmain
  14. Unique works just fine in the 9mm and the case almost fills completely.  I have used it and WSF a lot.  Never thought much about being dirty.  Plus if there is a lot of graphite.....so what.....continues to lube the pistol.  In my experience I have not had any powder induced problems.
  15. Yeah, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do......also not many people who have been involved in a shooting say they wish they had a smaller gun or less bullets; per Tom Givens.
  16. Two things not to skimp on; tires and brakes.....whoops, make that 3.....guns.
  17. another vote for the Fury holster.  OWB, high ride and can be converted to an IWB, tuckable.
  18. Going to be hard to find a 'lite' #4.  A quality field load in a #6 is probably your best bet.  Would avoid the cheapo loads due to poorer shot and wad qualities.
  19. IMO good price but for a pocket gun the bigger sights could impede access and smoothly pulling pistol from purse or pocket.
  20. I recommend the app "Legal Heat". Several sites to give you official answers as others have noted.
  21. Yep, they load fine. Have used for years with several reloads per hull.
  22. According to the rules for DOS handgun schools in TN, no one under the age of 16 may take the course. Ref- rules 1340-2-3-.05-8
  23. Your certificate of course completion is good for 6 months. The DMV willnot initiate the permit process until one is 21. So YES one may take the course before being 21, but will effectively waste their money if they do so and fall outside the 6 month time frame as noted.
  24. No.....but not even horse and buggy was mentioned in the Constitution.  Furthermore I doubt that very few young drivers don't take driver's ed, which is much longer than a one day 8 hour course.
  25. C_A you are exercising your 1st Amendment right without undergoing any test or permit....and that is exactly what was intended by the 2nd Amend. as well.  The key to both 1st and 2nd is personal responsibility.  I teach the carry permit class and it is not magical.  A few may be exposed to safety rules and minimal shooting instruction, but unfortunately that does not make one safe, trained, or experienced.  However much one is 'trained" is a personal decision, not mine or yours which is the way the Constitution meant it to be.  Emphasis needs to be on further training, not on stricter laws....there are more than enough of those already.
