  1. Yes, the Duty Treat finish is $300 more than stainless on the Dan Wesson.  I understand mistakes, can't stand the attitude though.  It was handled poorly.  Don't blame you for your course of action.  Smart not taking possession of the gun.  Let them eat the return and the gun.  Notify CC company and contest the charges.
  2. What a story!  Interesting he carries a 9 now instead of a .45.  Ammo count higher I guess is the reason.
  3. stock M&P pro : 0.135 Dawson 0.141
  4. Shield at Smokey Mtn. Knife Works 319  !!!
  5.     and you would trust a Taurus ?!?
  6. A very good gun with excellent "pointability". IMO one of most important characteristics of a self-defense carry gun. Also reliabity is right up there and the shield has that as well.
  7. Chilhowee Mountain has plenty of them.
  8. Started out the year with a nice jake. Will work my way up.
  9. Finally after all the trouble with small pistol primers in the 45 ACP.....they now put Large primers in 9mm !! :wall:   APRIL FOOL   :biglol:
  10. and then sometimes the barrels are not regulated.  It happens.  Probably not worth the money to have fixed.  First contact would be Briley IF you are sure POI is off.
  11. I use the Hornady One Shot case lube.....just a very light spray.  Helps with just about everything.   My guess your 'tight' cases came from a gun with a slightly enlarged chamber; shouldn't be a big deal.
  12. Totally different situation. Hopfully a local Cal. dealer will ship it on the cheap to a local dealer here.
  13. Low score wins
  14. Simple solution is to take a carry class. Laws will be reviewed, can carry in most places legally, and benefit from reciprosity.
  15.  This  ^  although I don't deprime first, never had the primer inspector come visit.  But, if I were shooting bullseye or long range I probably would.     I don't get this too clean stuff.  Clean brass is clean brass.  If trouble sticking, try a little shot of Hornady case lube.
  16. Usually every class has someone that needs guidance. I give generalized guidelines/ suggestions early on in the class. I hate for new shooters to have trouble during qualification. If they insist on using a difficult gun, I will get them to change out to a 22 pretty quick. Also generally no good reason to go buy a gun just for a carry class. Plenty of time later to make good, informed choice.
  17. just read an article, complete with pictures of such mishaps.  Deleted after read.  If I find it will post.  My biggest concern is muzzle awareness - especially if you are at a match.  Time and money spent to get DQ'd for a 10 cent round.
  18. Try BE 86 When you get a chance
  19. That's the least they should do considering the overinflated cost.
  20. It is not dangerous IF you catch the round cleanly.  But if it slides back into the ejection port it could be struck by the ejector, and then there is a problem.  Also, if during a match you muzzle yourself or otherwise have poor muzzle control  it could be a DQ.  So why risk it.  If on your own and you want....have at it.  But otherwise the safest thing to do is just pick the round up off the ground.
  21. Will also add that I use the small primer brass where I generally don't try and recover my brass.  Classes, matches, etc.
  22.   2nd that.  No difference that I can tell.
  23. I would go ahead and breakdown and buy a decent wad.  For generally 1 cent you will get much better results.
  24. Just a brief report from our training last night.  As usual Randy put on a very good program with the help of those at the The Ridge shooting facility.  There is more to shooting at night than just shooting in the dark.  A jammed-pack 8 hours of personal protection techniques utilizing awareness, simple self-defense maneuvers, and flashlight work were presented and practiced.  The goal being personal safety and hopefully avoiding the necessity to have to deploy the use of a firearm.  But if it came to the use of a firearm in the dark then one now has some idea what to expect and how to get the hits needed to survive the encounter.
  25. They use them a lot in Winchester ammo.........
