  1. Ummmmm.......and I always thought it was an empty gun that would get you killed. The ballistic coefficient of an empty mag is not very good.
  2. overall i like it much better
  3. For discussion, if BG fleeing but shooting simultaneously then returning fire would be a continuum of a single action of self defense as the initial attack was never broken off. At least that is the story my attorney is giving.
  4. IMO active shooter outside the home one would be allowed to defend self and family. Bad Guys responsible for the whole thing. Now if the Homeowner directly struck an innocent; different story. No duty to retreat in MI.
  5. Agree......would seem to be covered by simply sticking to the 'no rounds left behind'. Dropping an empty mag is dropping an empty mag.
  6. The misconception, over and over, is that the general public perceives the HCP course as training in SHOOTING and it is probably because the State says one spends 4 hours on the range. The class is primarily about the laws governing the carry and use of a firearm for SD. Of equal importance is safety. It always amazes me the number of students that show up that don't know how to hold, load, or safely operate a firearm. Furthermore the misconceptions on the use of a firearm by "experienced" owners is equally as scary whether simply shooting or on what they feel regarding legal aspects. The State should require a 90 day subscription to TGO
  7. simple enough to try a choreboy copper pad wrapped on a cleaning brush to see if it helps if the problem is lead build up.
  8. Problem with the 5.7 is being able to hear after having to shoot it in a SD situation
  9. Read a story of an officer who got in a shootout and hit the BG multiple times with .45. Was down to his last few rounds before the guy finally expired. After that he went to the 9mm because of the extra round count. Basically carries 200 + rounds.
  10. I have done the same with shotgun chambers, but used 000 steel wool on a bore brush. I would think the same could be done on a cylinder and then finish with the Flitz.
  11. tyranny is only one election away.......
  12. Try Knoxville Gun Range
  13. Avoid extremes of temperature, and high humidity and ammo will last a life-time. Add good storage container such as ammo cans with a little desiccant and the grandkids can enjoy ammo ( hope so .....I've loaded more than I will shoot )
  14. You don't get out much........it happens with all guns, but some less frequently than others.
  15. An obvious situation of "poor victim selection".
  16. Have seen them for years around Wilson County. Also around E. TN for at least 20 yrs.
  17. So a small piece of this earth which you temporarily are the caretaker of is worth harming, maiming or killing someone over because they walked on it? I am not condoning the trespasser, but there are legal means to address it. Let's say you confront this individual and the crazy SOB shoots you, was it worth it?
  18. Assuming..........they were armed. I am assuming they didn't present the gun until they were shot at by victim. Either changes the position. Maybe simply a drug deal gone bad. Maybe bad guys shot back in self defense. Details. Details
  19. I appreciate the sanctity of property and that trespassing is wrong. However that is no an excuse to harm or maim someone.
  20. I know what "is right" with most of us, but the imminent threat had left/retreated and as I understand the story gunplay wasn't involved until the victim pulled a gun after-the-fact. It was no longer self-defense but a retaliatory act by the victim. Just sayin' it makes for a weak self-defense scenario. Will come down to the DA. If the bad guy had been shot a substantial distance from the victims, may be expensive to be found not guilty. Again, not sayin' it is right, just the way the legal system can spin.
  21. And it looks like their new ads are going to give Hardee's a run for their money on being my favorites....
  22. Magazine loaded and in a mag holster is OK......essentially the ammo cannot be exposed Above......have seen several magazine articles state - incorrectly - to use TSA lock on firearm box. It is OK on the luggage the locked firearm box may be in. I have my cell phone # on the outside of the firearm box should any questions arise.
  23. Good info worth repeating.....
  24. Hornady site lists the 115 gr HAP at .355. Berry's listed at .356 . Like most, go the the LEE FCD and most problems solved.
  25. I will only speak to my experience with multiple trips with Delta. Your signing of the affidavit is verification of an unloaded gun...no use to pull gun out and show to someone that has no knowledge of firearms. The orange affidavit is then placed on top of container. Ammo can be locked in same box with gun. Ammo should be in factory box, or can be in loaded mags covered by mag holster....not in gun of course. Ammo does not have to be in a locked box. Firearm box locked with owner in possession of keys or combo. This box can then be placed in larger suitcase with TSA locks. Nothing can be placed on the outside of container that would indicate firearm inside.
