  1. I used an old piece of I-beam to elevate mine.
  2. As always, 99.9% of the time, Oh Shoot is correct. The problem is an overzealous LEO may not know that and pops you. Looking at the defense of a felony. So better safe than sorry; if school is there and you know it, better off leaving.
  3. Short answer, if the park is being used for an official school event one is not allowed to carry during those times of the event. Additionally, if all public entrances to a park are manned by security/police and a metal detector is used AND all bags are inspected, and posted one cannot carry. As a general rule, in TN, you can carry in public parks.
  4. This is me riding 'shotgun' on security detail. Next picture is proof that I shoot.....
  5. Squib as OS said, as well as your round pictured showing set-back. Both potentially dangerous to gun, shooter, and bystanders. Either could be manufacturing problems or acquired, whether factory or reloads. Always a good idea to pay attention to what you put in your gun and how you store and handle your ammo.
  6. Sort of like using a ,22 for SD, doable but better options. One can buy a single shot 12ga for the same $ and be better equipped. Also why risk wounding/wasting such a great bird being undergunned?

    Sti 1911

Had a STI 2011, good gun, lots of competition shooters swear by them in 9mm. Doubt you will shoot them any better than your 320 though. I boils down to if you simply like them or not and want one bad enough to take the plunge. But don't expect it to be magical.
  8. keep moving the target closer until the rounds are centered......
  9. True, unless all other states follow their lead. Two chances, slim and none.
  10. Just hate to see Vermont grouped with the otherwise communist northeast states...when they set such a good example for others
  11. Vermont recognizes all state permits and is a constitutional carry state, open or concealed for residents and non residents.
  12. Take a look at the ameriglo tritium yellow sight
  13. I have both, Sig is OK, but can't replace my M&P. I tried to like the Sig, has the novelty of changing frames, bbls, caliber, etc., but I believe one is better off just buying another gun in that case. On the other hand, use your Sig, just don't drop it, which is the same rule I have for any gun.
  14. I use the small rechargeable (oven) bags. Put them in the brass I have cleaned in closable plastic jars. no problems.

    Sad day

Sorry.....I know how tough it is. I have lost two best friends. Irreplaceable, and in the future you will always remember them and the good times you have had. However, we should all be so lucky to have friends that have made our lives enjoyable.
  16. try this action:
  17. yes, this is the peak migration period. Just buy some pre-mix and hang a feeder. I've got a buddy that has so many it is not safe to walk in his yard..... He feeds about a gallon of mix a day.
  18. The hard trigger pull will help you in the long run. Learn to shoot well with it and the carry-over to a nice trigger will be evident.
  19. Sounds like a road trip to Bristol or chattanooga. Great price though
  20. I have both and enjoy shooting both. Honestly, I can't tell you I see a big difference, especially shooting IDPA. It may be more in my mind, but I shoot the 5" mostly, and that is the one I put the apex barrel in. Naturally have more $ in it. I use a Dawson FO front, but just put a yellow Ameriglo TCAP on a 4" and will shoot it more now. For 3/4" I don't think it really matters especially if the money is right. IF $ are the deciding factor go 4" and put the extra money in the Apex products for an overall better gun.
  21. I have several M&Ps, all apexed. The 2.0 triggers in the 3 I have shot may be a little better than the 1.0 but not much. I just finished apex on a 2, big improvement. I would get a deal on a standard 1.0 and apex it, including the barrel. I have tried 320s and xdm. Firmly a MP fan.
  22. Take a back-up gun. Nothing worse than one gun going down and having to watch everyone else..........
  23. I have red, white, and green. By far go with the green. Very good sights. The tritium is bright for enough for all situations IMO. Plus night sights are overrated, rarely are we in such a situation given ambient light.
  24. Did you shoot bay 8 at ORSA this month?
  25. Too thick. When you let the native grass grow like blue stem it provides cover but allows birds to run on the ground
