Oh Shoot is correct...but which is more likely, run in with the police or a bad guy....some would say you risk getting beat up or shot either way.....just sayin.
-
Hate you feel that way, but, since you brought it up, I don't have to worry about you suing me.

The only problem with someone under 21 carrying a handgun is that most LEO are probably unfamiliar with the law. I bet it will be a perfect situation for a Terry stop/search. May not happen, but if it does will probably be a little messy and maybe a little expense tied to it. Got to be sure young son stays above reproach should he have a gun in the car.

APR 14-15 Close Range Gunfighting Dayton TN
chances R replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Training Discussions
I have taken a lot of courses, and this particular course as taught by Randy has been a cornerstone of defensive handgun use for what is likely to be encountered in a self-defense situation IMO. On top of that, this is an excellent bargain at the discounted price.- 4 replies

Don't think you will have much luck with that. Responsibility will lie with the bad guy.

Legal Heat CCW classes at Cabela's?
chances R replied to Ronald_55's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
TN residents have to have TN permit. The legal heat course does not compare/substitute for the TN course. -
It is doubtful that the majority on this forum started with larger calibers. Get a 22 and start shooting with proper instruction. Some gun that can be used with confidence is best. Then as one tries other guns new ones can be acquired. We all probably use a much different gun now than when we started. We need to get out of the habit of thinking there is one perfect and final purchase for a new shooter.

OR, the specific signs may make it much easier to bring legitimate charges against a violator.

well, not knowing your exact history I tried not to leave anything out, no offense intended. the most rear button is the safety. push it up for 'on'. The more forward button is the slide lock. The mag holds 10 max. 6 visible, 3 at top, and one possibly in chamber. Seems you are not certain if you started with a full mag or not.
-
double checked my 22/45. Yes, I believe you have the correct magazine. Also a fully loaded mag will show 7 rounds of ammo and the top 3 will be hidden by the metal side. So it is very possible you have a live round loaded as I count 6 rounds visible. Next, be sure and place the safety 'on'. As pictured yours is 'off'. Pointed in a safe direction, the bolt/slide should be able to be pulled back with enough force. As a good safety reminder please keep your finger off the trigger as some place it there in error. Again if in doubt get competent help.
-
first get some competent help immediately..I am concerned that you are unsure whether it is loaded or not. Please treat it as loaded and don't point it at anything you don't want to put a hole in! Not sure but the base plate of the mag doesn't look like it is the right one. Again someone familiar with handguns to help you out.

Pleasantly surprised by a Daly 20 I bought for my grandson. Shoots and functions great.

Open and Concealed Carry- How do you do it?
chances R replied to Ronald_55's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
IMO my go to is the Shield in a VersaCarry devise. Easy on easy off. Inexpensive, comfortable, versatile. Goes with gym shorts to business suit. -
well that is like asking do you like blondes, redheads, brunettes, etc. To me shotguns are a personal thing. I love the versatility of a 12ga Benelli super black eagle. Have worn one out. Working on another one. My preference is the old H&K imports. As a general rule my recommendation is the Montefeltro 12 or 20. Dependable. Also worn out a Rem. 1100. Never replaced it, just shoot light loads in it on occasion. Shotguns are more balance, length of pull, and pointability type guns. Some of the new Remington and Winchesters look nice. Beretta autos popular as well. Day in day out though your pump 870 is always a good solid choice. Doubly good is if it the old Wingmaster model.

OP talking about course cert., not the permit.
-
Not sure why. For my classes the completion certificate is printed and given on location of the class, or I send it by email/pdf file.

Problem will be my peers from TGO won't be on the grand jury, and you can never be sure of what the DA's beliefs are. "Reasonable" person is a point of Self-Defense but so is Proportionality. To me the 70 year old is justified, but then again I am on TGO. The 70 year old is also not expected to have to suffer those injuries before use of deadly force, and I think therein lies the rub. Hence, there are no guarantees. But fortunately TN seems pretty favorable overall for these arguments.

Just recently I believe it was in Utah a LEO was hit with one punch and died. As we get older this is certainly a real possibility. If one meets all other points of self defense per Andrew Branca one may still face charges. That is why use of your firearm is the last option and it will be your attorney’s job to articulate that. Unfortunately there are no guarantees.

Goodbye Russian ammunition
chances R replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I don't see this as an attack on firearms/ammunition. It is IMO a sanction on Russia that simply tries to impact their political actions. If it happens to involve an economic facet that includes ammunition, so be it. I don't think as a community of gun owners we can be or should be immune to worldwide political actions. That doesn't mean I like it, but I'm not paranoid to think they every action targets me as a gun owner is planned to do so. -
Ameriglo Hackathorn Glock Sights
chances R replied to Jamie Jackson's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Been using the front sight on several of my guns for the past year. I prefer the yellow but have the orange on a 320. Dave Spaulding promotes these as well. Especially 'eye grabbing' in daylight or low light plus the nite site tritium insert. -
