  1. I have heard negative reports on Rem Golden Bullets. My experience is just the opposite. S&W compact, S&W 22 AR, Sig Mosquito to name a few all run fine.
  2. Not the way I was hoping this story would go .............
  3. Yep, cost you $1.56.........
  4. After the debacle with the 320, and a horrible trigger after the factory recall.....I'm done with Sig.
  5. Good for them and Springfield
  6. Thanks........will give it a 'shot'
  7. Middle and West TN were known for quality quail hunting. Ames plantation was the headquarters for National Bird Dog championships. Feral cats, hawks, loss of habitat, proliferation of coons, intro of coyotes as well as changes in agriculture all contributed to their decline. The good ol days for quail are probably lost forever...but it was super fun and tasty for a time. FWIW, nothing wrong to hunt pen-raised birds. A little exercise for you and the dog and wind up with something to eat.
  8. Explanation I heard is that nothing changes until the ATF issues a letter of policy. Until then no FFL is going to go out on a limb for the small profit of a gun sell. Too many varibles of state laws in addition to existing Fed laws to risk it.

  10. M&P fan here. No question with the shield. My EDC. I have the 1.0, 2.0 some improvement. From what I have read on some instructors sites, avoiding the PC with the porting. Getting metal frag blow back; especially shooting from retention. Friend of mine from an agency said that they could not use any ported guns for similar reason.
  11. Picked up and loaded hundreds if not thousand of the brass out of glocks. Never had an issue.
  12. Nope, just another win for the gun-control crowd that pushes another encumbrance upon the average law-abiding citizen along with the other draconian procedures. We have enough problems without eating our own.
  13. https://lawselfdefense.org/show-video Free show for next 22 hours or so...........
  14. Just another reason to avoid a home invasion.....
  15. Isn’t it against the law already to shoot someone when naked?
  16. https://lawselfdefense.org/show-video This week's course....available limited time
  17. Jim, good to know. Thanks for the update.
  18. So Jim what was the answer? I would highly suggest that anyone new to the state either spend some time reading the laws of the state or take the HCP course. Especially true because of some of the differences in TN vs. TX law.

  22. I have been of the opinion that technology / society has evolved much faster and more complex than the human capacity to adapt to those changes for a lot of people. Most of the problems are self inflicted by social pressures by media. The portrayal of lifestyle by the rich and famous as normal may invoke the mental stresses of those not well grounded. Feelings of failure, insufficieny, etc exceed coping skills as we now feel our wants become sometimes unreachable needs. It is an increasingly complex world that has no easy answer for the masses.
  23. I am in agreement with Hozzie on this. First military operations/training is different than goals. Also I don't get this idea that suddenly military personel are experts in small arms. Limited exposure for most. Some may have extensive exposure, but even out of those you are going to have limited availabilty. The occurrance of a shooter is rare...equivilant to a possible lightening strike. Volunteer teacher/employee carry is the answer IMO. Also it is akin to routine personnel carry in public; for emergency use only and rare that it is needed. Proper firearm usage and training would be required. However the teachers are not a response force, they are simply a reactionary self-defense purpose when one exhausts the Run.....Hide.....and then to the last resort FIGHT that is being taught.
  24. I would never recommend a HCP only qualification....but it has to be a start. The SRO firearms training would be the minimal requirement. Re-test every year. Let's keep in mind a) most shootings are over in 5 minutes b)average response time is 14 minutes c) national on target hit % by police hovers around 20%.
  25. No spyder wire is more akin to braid. Lasts much longer. Mono deteriorates much quicker, with spyder lasting much longer without losing strength. Also doesn’t twist as badly, less memory. Therefore no need to buy in bulk.
