  1. Got to admit I am a Branca fan. Took his daylong class in Nashville couple years ago. Read his book a couple of times. Never miss his weekly webinar. The guy is endorsed by Massad and about every gun show host in the country. I think he gives solid info, but like most things there are two sides to most positions. However, if you carry a gun it would be prudent to give his book a read.
  2. Also don’t forget J Floyd’s Just down the road on the left. Sometimes better pricing....9mm Shield 269 now
  3. You all do know 'weed' is legal in Colorado, right?
  4. to me the versacarry works very well with small guns, esp. the LCP. The only combo that I can carry comfortably and safely appendix. Also works around the side at 3 or 5 easily.
  5. yes it is a large store with a 20 lane indoor range. Rental counter. Rifles allowed. Clothing. In other words, a big 'candy' store.
  6. Certainly your perogative. And better not to say anything than to talk indiscriminately. However, I continue to educate myself on this subject by personally attending classes plus reading articles by known authors with expertise in this area. Nothing wrong with helping your attorney help you. Hopefully neither of us has to experience this.
  7. From slingshot to B.B. to an old buldged barrel single shot 20ga that belonged to my dad and uncle. From bird, duck, dove hunting for a number of years. Then it was my son’s first gun as well. Still have it. Probably not worth more than $40 tops but the most valuable gun I have.
  8. Have the original plus the desantis nemesis holster. Use a VersaCarry device with it occasionally. Have shot it as a BUG in a match. Certainly adequate but bigger guns much more fun, faster, and accurate. But a great gun for its purpose.
  9. That video is a farce. Would you not tell the police a gun was thrown behind the bushes? An a compliance drove off? Some evidence is perishable. Educate yourself by reading “The Law of Self Defense “. You should practice your defense if you carry a gun.
  10. According to Branca, not saying anything is excellent advice for criminals. There can be evidence that is lost forever if not discovered immediately. Additionally, being silent can be used against you, sort of a conscienceness of guilt impression upon a prosecutor and jury.
  11. limited conversation with officers...if you don't just blabber. Point out witnesses, also where weapons may have been thrown, stashed, etc. description of fleeing automobiles, or one that may have dropped off the attacker....then as above.
  12. He was such a good boy. Turned his life around (while illegally carrying a gun). Multiple felony history. Failure to obey an officer. A danger to the public and the officer. Guilt of conscience...that is why he ran. IMO no relation to the Garner case. Justifiable shoot. Just do what you are told by the police, especially if you are holding a gun.
  13. Check to see what the county right of way is. Then I would avoid that by several yards.
  14. Thinking about this more. Each to his own, but just thinking about new shooters. Unless one is looking at around a 8# + trigger, I am not a big fan of a glock or other type handguns without a safety. I understand the argument for simplistic operation, but unless is willing to train and be intimately familiar with their pistol, I think the safety is a good idea. How many of you started hunting and walked around with the safety off. Duck hunt with the gun sitting with the safety off. Point is, one carries a gun, handles the gun a whole lot more than the actual shooting of the gun. Until one becomes proficient, the point of being safe has to be #1 concern.
  15. I have peltor tactical sports, superior to the walker muffs. However, the walker razor is my fav. for pistol or field use. Really nice for shotgun use.
  16. Terrible feeling and loss. Been there and done that several times and never easy. You know dogs sense things we can’t , I know they feel our love as well.
  17. i have shot both the AR version of the PCC as well as the Ruger. My preference is the Ruger. With a red dot both are very quick to the target and spot on. I agree that it is an excellent choice for a defensive weapon. Spits out the 115gr >1300fps.
  18. over the years I have seen several farm injuries, especially from corn pickers. They look very similar , howerver they start at the fingers.
  19. Point well-taken. Like others hard for me to believe it was a handgun injury especially at close range. Shotgun, maybe. Anyway, bad injury and things can happen in a blink.
  20. you have an unexpected inventory with really no rush to make a bad deal. Join here and you will probably move the guns. Even word of mouth may do so. Hard to get a fair price at dealers as you have discovered. HCP is generally a good screen, but not legally binding/absolute. As long as you believe the buyer is able to do so legally, you are good to go. To be on the safe side, unless you personally know the individual involved, I would make sure buyer is over 21.
  21. TCA 39-17-1307e (permitless carry) includes boats same as cars. I haven't read anything that limits the ammo type in these legal weapons.
  22. Additional info: https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/08/30/florida-uber-drivers-shooting-attacker-ruled-classic-stand-ground-case/
  23. Report Report I read said F-250
  24. Aggressive driver did not have a gun. I think he said he did. No gun found on him or in the truck.
